"... with minimal spoilers" Umm... I think you and I have different interpretations of what the word "minimal" means. It's a good thing I already finished Conquest, because you guys went at least knee-deep into spoiler territory...
Nintendo could release a stand alone version of all three games on one cartridge just like the special edition, but without all the other stuff & the crazy ebay prices.
The Special edition version cost the same as when you buy one single version and download the other two versions. One reason to not want to download the others would be because of card space.
I liked the challenges in Conquest. But I'm never touching that game again. I fell like such an ass the entire way through. >.< I'll stick to the happy ending in Birthright/Revelations.
I'm playing the Special Edition, and even just the beginning made me feel like a butt, when the Nohr king commands you to stomp all over prisoners. I can't imagine being an awful criminal in that one for the whole game. Also, I suck at tactical strategy games, so it's Birthright, thank you very much.
Yeah but you're getting basically different games. Unlike Pokemon where the story stay the same just with different or same team and some Pokemon here and there, where FE Fates have different elements, story, characters, and difficulty. Not like Pokemon. Yeah it's the same story basically but 2 different sides of it.
It's worse than Pokemon. In Pokemon it's more or less the same no matter which you choose, you're not missing out on anything too significant, just a handful of Pokemon. In this, you're losing half the story.
Yes. However, if you get one version, you could get the others on the eshop for half price. If you enjoyed both Birthright and Conquest, you can get a third path where you refuse to choose a side
It may be unlikely to happen, but if I were to remaster one 3DS game for the Wii U or NX, I'd chose Fire Emblem Fates, as "Fire Emblem Fates: Complete." I think Fates would be more worthy of a remaster for the NX than Awakening, possibly using Unity 5 engine or Unreal Engine 4. Fates pushed the 3DS to the technical limits, but Awakening did not. It would include all three versions in one package, but Revelation would have to be unlocked by completing both Birthright and Conquest, which would both be available by default if you start the game on Hard difficulty or higher or on Normal Classic. However, starting the game on Normal Casual or Phoenix would lock you to Birthright. Your existing save data from the 3DS game could be transferred to the NX remaster. If they make a brand new Fire Emblem game on the NX, there should be a feature where you could transfer Awakening and Fates characters as Einherjars to the new game, but for a price via in-game currency.
I had a huge concern! if anyone can help me! ^_^ I bought the special edition Fates which includes the 3 paths. So i started the conquest path in one save file - once i finish conquest and start birthright should i save on top of my last file? - should i play birthright and conquest simultaneously in different files? I'm just confused as to the save file system since many times in Fire emblem once you finish the game you can save on top of the same save file and start again with bonuses. Thank you for any kind soul who helps me with my concern! ^_^
Okay, stupid question. I am new and am planning on playing birthright, but I am more attracted to the characters on the conquest side. Are you able to recruit the conquest characters into the birthright side?
Okay so let me get this straight is FE:Fates a game or is it just the title to BR and Conquest if that's the case then can someone explain how to get all in one like can I have conquest and br in one game pls
Fire emblem Fates is 1 game sold in 3 parts tho if you want them all in one you need to buy the special edition or buy the other 2 versions at half the price from in-game store tho not sure if those 2 are downloaded to 3ds's card or the cartridge in general.
+Zack Arin I know, I was bummed. Cause I'm a living spoiler, so I know that no matter who you pick, the shit hits the fan. As a result I wanted nothing to do with anyone. I wanted to save everyone. I'm playing Birthright, but whenever I can get the chance I'm recruiting Nohrian character units to make myself feel better about the inevitability of my situation. So far the only one I've got is Elise, but I'll work on that.
Zack Arin I recruited her Einderjar (or whatever it's called) in my Birthright file. I later went, "eh, screw it" and downloaded the Conquest campaign and the other DLC. Much as it bugs me, I've decided I'm willing to put up with playing the game twice, only because I felt bad for both sides. BTW: When you pick Nohr the Hoshidans lay into you much worse for it than the opposite. Granted, in Birthright Camilla goes yandere and well let's just say I failed to not kill some people I probably wasn't supposed to kill.
Hoshimaru57 i downloaded both on the day it launched so does that mean that your not gonna get reveleations since you have to "put up with" another path? i thought that 3 branchin paths meant crazy replayability(seeing as i played awakening 17 times.) guess it was just me
+F Raider Do you know when that comes out, or if it is already out? Thanks for your reply. I have been waiting to get it till I found out. Is there multiplayer in this version? If so, does it work like awakening?
+Erika Nebergall it was released along with the other versions but I don't know if it was only for a limited time. last I heard though was that it was a little hard to find copies but I'm sure that's changed now. but I hope you find one ^-^ and no problem. As for the multi-player I'm not too sure. I never played the Awakening MP so I don't have a reference but there is an option for multi-player in FE:F along with castle invasions. I'm sorry if I couldn't be more help, I just got into this wonderful series last year.
F Raider Oh that's wondeful, I just called my Gamestop and you can get both games digitally for $60 then get the revelations at a discount price. I think I might do that! :) I'll just have to play around with the multiplayer! Thank you! :D
Yes! Very surprised considering Awakening had it AND that the digital version is bigger than the Japanese version. People guessed it was because of the extra audio files.
+Griffnix I think there were problems with the Japanese version of "Lost in Thoughts All Alone" and the devs didn't want a game spoken in Japanese but with an English song scattered about. This lead to no dual audio.
Except one thing, "Knights" have better equipment than "Samurais". "Knight" armor is heavier and their swords are meant to pierce trough armor, while "Samurai" armor is weaker AND while their swords are better for weak armor, they lose agaisnt good armor.
I thought you could get the third game early if you had Conquest or Birthright, and they gave you a special code to download the dlc? I guess I just made that up in my head..? So will you actually need to own one or the other, or can you buy Revelations by itself?
If this is your first time playing Fire Emblem I would probably get Birthright and when you undoubtedly end up loving the game you can get Conquest half off in game and play through that one.
I played Conquest first and felt challenged on normal. I'm currently sleepwalking through birthright on normal and refusing to do grinding because it would be too easy. I'm only on chapter 9 though so that could change, but I accidentally won the first chapter of the birthright path and I'm not very good at strategy games.
fuck i want to get conquest so bad,but never played any fire emblems game before,only xcom and disgaea,that seem to be pretty much the same style...what should i do ;-;
But I suggest looking up some videos of Fire Emblem: Awakening first, that way you'll see if you're interested in the game without spoiling yourself :D *****
+Tripp Fields I think when you get to that point, the game offers you the other campaign at half price so you can 'explore your fates.' I still think that the chapters leading up to that point should be a free demo, though.
hello Ash Paulsen and Chris Watters my name is Jacob Raby but please call me Jacob or Jake if you prefer. I saw your show and i gotta say I'm impressed for you two to tell everyone about Fire Emblem Fates in fact i am a big fans of both of you're work. however there is something that i would like to say, and i am very sorry about this but between Nohr and Hoshido and again i am truly sorry Chris but i choose Hoshido and agreeing Ashes point of view but you must understand that Corrin's real family belongs to Hoshido with Ryoma and the other siblings he was born with them to begin with and on top of that king Garon is nothing but pure evil from the very beginning and even if Corrin would rather turn against Xander and his other siblings so be it. Hoshido FOREVER!!!!!!!!!!!
Thanks guys! Exactly what I needed, now at least I know what my choices are (eventhough I still don't know what I'm gonna do, buying them both seems a little over the top for me..)
HOLEY CRAP! It's Chris Watters! It just occurred to me yesterday that Gamespot as it is now is entirely different from a couple years ago... I miss all the awesome and entertaining shows like Start Select, The Gun Shows, Feedbackula, The Point, Random Encounters, etc along with lovable faces and hilarious personalities. Now, there's only The Point with Danny, which isn't getting as much love as it used to. All the amazing staff moved on... :(
I choose Birthright because the end of Conquest sucks I did get both conquest and revelation after Revelation is by far my favorite seriously though that Conquest ending sucks to me the ending of a game really matters
At first I was interested in playing Conquest then Birthright, but now that you're telling me Birthright is easier to get a hang of than Conquest?! IDK man, would Conquest be easier if I at least played Awakening beforehand?
+D.C. Stranded (Mr. Wright) If you've played Awakening beforehand and already know the mechanics of the game, Conquest won't be devastatingly disastrous. The issue here though is that Awakening had fairly easy objectives that were almost ALWAYS "route the enemy" while in Conquest, you may need to defend a fort or capture one and etc. Honestly, if you feel like you can handle it go for it.
Splitting one game into three parts and making a third of the game digital only, an AWOL European release and a terrible localization/censorship. I loved Awakening, but the answer to that question is *_none_*. They're not getting my money.
Epshvan It's ridiculous that we have to though, since the game is already released everywhere else in the world. And since I live in a pretty small country games don't even get translated to the local language, so I'll end up having to play the game in English anyway (which I don't mind, since my English is just fine, but it just means that I might just as well play the US version). Unlike people in France or Spain I am literally waiting for nothing.
Ohtori Sakuya Well, that truly sucks... Never understood why the UK and countries where games are in English have to wait, just like the rest of Europe. I'm from Germany, so I'll get the translated version of the game, but it takes sooo long... I would rather have played the US version than being exposed to spoilers for the next 3 months. I wouldn't have had any problems with the game being in English either...
Epshvan Exactly! I live in the Netherlands and games never get translated into Dutch anyway, so what are they waiting for? And yeah, in your case at the very least you'll end up getting a translation (though honestly even if they did translate the game in Dutch I'd still rather play it in English, because it would look so...cringy and weird) but is it worth the extra 3 months (which is waaay too much time for just a translation btw)? I'm sure lots of people would agree with you and rather play the game in English, rather than be plagued by spoilers and impatience for so long.
I'm a little frustrated with Nintendo on this one. I love Asian culture but the idea that blood trumps everything is a little irritating. Honestly, there is no way I would abandon the family that raised me...... but Nintendo has made them the villains! Seriously? I had hoped that the stories wouldn't be so black and white, that good could be found on both sides. As it is you basically choose might over right if you side with Nohr......
Spoiler alert... there's spoilers.
"... with minimal spoilers"
Umm... I think you and I have different interpretations of what the word "minimal" means. It's a good thing I already finished Conquest, because you guys went at least knee-deep into spoiler territory...
Nintendo could release a stand alone version of all three games on one

The Special edition version cost the same as when you buy one single version and download the other two versions. One reason to not want to download the others would be because of card space.
+Griffnix Just get a bigger MicroSD card. A 32GB card is around $10 if you look in the right place.
Camilla version
6 years since this came out and I'm getting birthright 😅
Haha, choosing a side, pfft... now when will they restock the special edition! >_
Or just get all yo money and buy both. TAKE MY MONEY NINTENDO!
I tried... But I love this game too much.
Gonsailing SAME
I've no idea what's going on...
the inner liam will tell us
tank butt What does that even mean....
Its A 2bestfriends joke
there's 2 version, like a pokemon games
This was cringeworthy
Yes...
Yeah fire emblem is great but the video kept getting worse : (
I went with birthright.
+989Bigboss Hehe..yeah Nohr ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Sing with me a song of Birthrights and love. The light scatters to the sky above
bought conquest, then birthright and the best, revelation
I liked the challenges in Conquest. But I'm never touching that game again. I fell like such an ass the entire way through. >.< I'll stick to the happy ending in Birthright/Revelations.
I'm playing the Special Edition, and even just the beginning made me feel like a butt, when the Nohr king commands you to stomp all over prisoners.
I can't imagine being an awful criminal in that one for the whole game.
Also, I suck at tactical strategy games, so it's Birthright, thank you very much.
Wolffangs100 I just skip the story when I play lol. It's only funny first time through.
"In minimum spoilers possible"
Literally spoils like a quarter of both routes
Techadraws_sunbent why do you care? The story's trash anyway.
Split a full game into 2 or 3 part scumbag pokemon tactics, I love awakening but fuck this shit, I'll get the rom.
No, it's 3 full games.
Yeah but you're getting basically different games. Unlike Pokemon where the story stay the same just with different or same team and some Pokemon here and there, where FE Fates have different elements, story, characters, and difficulty. Not like Pokemon. Yeah it's the same story basically but 2 different sides of it.

In this, you're losing half the story.
+matt4045 Then get the other story, simple. And if you don't have any money, it's not my problem.
*I bought both along with awakening and warriors because I'm a true fan if the fire emblem series.*
Mmm...they pretty much spoilt the whole thing.
But Revelation bro. Valla ftw
I like Conquest characters better, but it makes no sense to join Nohr if the point is to bring peace, Garon is clearly the main villain.
I'm confused, do you have to buy two different games in order to play the different routes?
Yes. However, if you get one version, you could get the others on the eshop for half price. If you enjoyed both Birthright and Conquest, you can get a third path where you refuse to choose a side
Popblah1gaming oh, thank you :)

Birthright is along the lines of The Sacred Stones and Awakening. Conquest is along the lines of Thracia 776 and Radiant Dawn.
Just saying it's pronounced why Vern
love it. thanks for the info guys
I had a huge concern! if anyone can help me! ^_^
I bought the special edition Fates which includes the 3 paths.
So i started the conquest path in one save file
- once i finish conquest and start birthright should i save on top of my last file?
- should i play birthright and conquest simultaneously in different files?
I'm just confused as to the save file system since many times in Fire emblem once you finish the game you can save on top of the same save file and start again with bonuses.
Thank you for any kind soul who helps me with my concern! ^_^
is there a point to getting both games? I just got conquest vers. and was wondering if I should get birthright vers also or not.
well after you finish conquest birthright will probably feel like cake walk. do you want an easier game or a different facet of story?
Okay, stupid question. I am new and am planning on playing birthright, but I am more attracted to the characters on the conquest side. Are you able to recruit the conquest characters into the birthright side?
' Ninjas beat all ' copy that. I'm choosing birthright
Okay so let me get this straight is FE:Fates a game or is it just the title to BR and Conquest if that's the case then can someone explain how to get all in one like can I have conquest and br in one game pls

Revelations. It has like ALL the features of the 2 sides and kick ass ending
+Gilbert Gallardo yeah but thats not coming out until march
+Zack Arin I know, I was bummed. Cause I'm a living spoiler, so I know that no matter who you pick, the shit hits the fan. As a result I wanted nothing to do with anyone. I wanted to save everyone.

Hoshimaru57 wait your playing birthright and you recruited elise? how????
Zack Arin
I recruited her Einderjar (or whatever it's called) in my Birthright file.
I later went, "eh, screw it" and downloaded the Conquest campaign and the other DLC.

Which is the one with the male gay option??
+Voeris Conquest
+Voeris fuck. When I first saw this I thought it was a joke. Just realized that, that is a thing.
Yeah....
i chose birthright for hoshido i love ninja class
'birthright' and 'conquest' makes sense.
Finally got to play this and started out with conquest did not regret having Camilla by my side
That was well presented
Wait how was this no spoilers?
+Asad Siraj They only tell you what goes on in the first 5 or so chapters. They don't give away any endings :)
+Wolffangs100 ah helpful thank you
Is there an option for a two in one? And is Revelations just a DLC or is it a third game?
there is a special edition that comes with both BR and conquest. and it automatically gives you revelation.
+F Raider Do you know when that comes out, or if it is already out? Thanks for your reply. I have been waiting to get it till I found out. Is there multiplayer in this version? If so, does it work like awakening?

Yes! Very surprised considering Awakening had it AND that the digital version is bigger than the Japanese version. People guessed it was because of the extra audio files.

Revelations is a separate DLC launching at 20 Bucks.
It's like a Sequel to whatever version you bought
It's not a sequel, it's a third path.
I really liked how u guys did this video, I will definitely watch more of them.
If this is your first time playing Fire Emblem I would probably get Birthright and when you undoubtedly end up loving the game you can get Conquest half off in game and play through that one.
Oscar worthy performance.
so wich side is the harder one? nohr or hoshiro???
I haven't played the game yet, but I have heard it's Nohr.

buy conquest
+Erix Gastao Buy it :D
+Epshvan guess in going for conquest then, thank you ^^
But I suggest looking up some videos of Fire Emblem: Awakening first, that way you'll see if you're interested in the game without spoiling yourself :D *****
Epshvan i played the awakening demo and loved the game :v
wait wait, they implied the games forced u on different paths.....yet i saw a choice option?
+Tripp Fields I think when you get to that point, the game offers you the other campaign at half price so you can 'explore your fates.' I still think that the chapters leading up to that point should be a free demo, though.
This reminded me of all my arguments with my friend over which is better: Nohr or Hoshido. Nohr all the way!
hello Ash Paulsen and Chris Watters my name is Jacob Raby but please call me Jacob or Jake if you prefer. Thanks guys! Exactly what I needed, now at least I know what my choices are (eventhough I still don't know what I'm gonna do, buying them both seems a little over the top for me..)
I don't think there's only 1 good or bad both sides must have done some crazy things?
bravo! very well acted
I can join both?
you know there's the middle path
If I got this it would be Revelations
So, Birthright and Conquest are mostly the same, only with you on a different side?
i liked that romeo and juliet reference :)
All I heard was Birthquest.
Which version? The version without any localized censorship..
I choose Birthright because the end of Conquest sucks I did get both conquest and revelation after Revelation is by far my favorite seriously though that Conquest ending sucks to me the ending of a game really matters
Chris where you been at wtf.
THAT'S what Ash looks like!?
I'm getting the special edition
Good luck i want it too but its going for 300$+ :/
+Kooltrex fuck that shit, no one will have time to play all 3, just get one, buy the others later if you really like it and want more.
Ilyushin *-I want dem all on one cartridge and also want the extras Ill wait for a reprint.
"it's birthchrist"
Ya know, when I read 'which version is for you' I thought, Japanese version or censored version.
Splitting one game into three parts and making a third of the game digital only, an AWOL European release and a terrible localization/censorship.
I loved Awakening, but the answer to that question is *_none_*. They're not getting my money.
All 3 games are the same length as awakening tho
They basically made three awakening ......... Not a rip off at all as they each serrated story's and games
Word
+matt4045 They dont need your money, As for the EU release awakenings came out like 2 months after the us release date so expect the same for these.
we get fe later in europe but therefore we are getting bravely second very soon
I've got all three!
Who else will pick glorious revelation?
right now gamestop has the hyrule edition new nintendo 3ds xl for 199.99 youre welcome
They really quoted romeo and juliet😂😂😂😂
Nohr is the best choice.
Nintendo is doing a pretty bad job in marketing this game to casual players.
Brianstorm This game still sold pretty well tho.
Shakespeare lines.
Should I replace my broken 2DS just to play this?
Dammit too much spoiler, i just to came here to find out can i choose nohr in birthright or vice versa
So is Awakening better than both these games?
Conquest "hard as knobs"
Camilla is so OP
I chose both.
Nohr for life
BIRTHRIGHT ALL THE WAY!
Conquest ftw
You pronounced wyvern wrong
I can't decide😫
Both!
There are spoilers all over the place. Gee, thanks alot
I'M AT SOUP!
I wish I could pet Silas but guess not, I guess that's what I get for being American.... 😭😭😭
+gavynn brown At least you guys got the game already. Us here in Europe have to wait another 2 fucking months for it to get released.
+Ohtori Sakuya Just... 2 more months... we must be patient T_T
Epshvan It's ridiculous that we have to though, since the game is already released everywhere else in the world. I regret buying birthright not because of it being easy but because the magic effects suck and In fantasy I need my magic looking flashy and cool
You should have av F*cking spoiler alert!
Conquest all the way
Get both. Simple
Conquest it is
does it feels like pokemon?
No.
"sponsored by Nintendo"
I choose birthright
All of this over scripted crap, and then they spoil things. Great work gamespot.
Don't buy conquest. Not that it is not a good game but after the last mission there is nothing but to repeat it again and again.
Don't watch. Spoilers as fuck.
theres 3 vershion of it not 2
I'm a little frustrated with Nintendo on this one. I love Asian culture but the idea that blood trumps everything is a little irritating. I had hoped that the stories wouldn't be so black and white, that good could be found on both sides. As it is you basically choose might over right if you side with Nohr......
+Rae C. But it isn't black and white like that, your Nohr siblings are all very good people and so are the majority of your units.
But the ideas you are fighting for, the ideas that you are supporting, are not good. You are condoning the atrocities your country commits.
Rae C. The intention of the main character is to change a corrupt system from the inside, for the better.
I understand that. But you still are supporting the ideas by your silence. It's implicit that you agree with them.
