Great review when compared with the Conquest review. Any negatives in this review were well explained. (Don't even get me started on the person giving Conquest a lower score for difficulty alone. A third grader could have done a better Conquest review.)
+sonickhable I'm a little salty. Fire emblem awakening was my least favorite game in the series and the reviewer is praising everything everything that I disliked about awakening. The baby making, waifu stuff and how easy it is due to the grinding. Meanwhile, it seems conquest is trying to bring back long time fans who were disappointed with the "casualness" of awakening, and is being penalized for it.
+jose rodriguez Thank you ! I liked Awakening, but I'm so glad Conquest is going to play like older games in the series. How it got a 7/10 is ridiculous.
seriously go back to your basement and play those same Old Ass FE games with the same mechanics over and over and over again. please dont fucking play this game, entitled POS. why dont you join the other fucktards that play those dumbass FE wannabe games on android and shove it up your ass. sorry the Devs ddnt cater to your expectations
If your a series beginner, start off with Awakening or Birthright. Preferably Birthright because if the better story. Ignore the guy who said start with the GBA games first since they're much more difficult for beginners with the exception of sacred stones. You'll get frustrated and give up the series, so starting off easy will be perfect before you tackle the harder ones
I was under the impresion that there is a version (At a higher price) that includes all 3. Is this true? My daughter really likes awakening and I wanted to get the 3 in 1 version for her.
I care. Japan cared since they had it. Censorship in the US is kinda stupid. They baby their children so much yet at the same time, they have rampant sex and drugs on TV.
+Nelson II “Kanakanako_Exia” Salazar there is sex than then they is literally petting people for them to like you more that's straight up creepy. Also they did sensor a few other things to make it for appropriate for western markets.
im debating on my next game being this...or fire emblem birthright [heard conquest gets ridicioulus as early as chapter 10]. im aware of the difficulty in FE games...and beat FE awakening on classic mode [only losing characters to the final boss...which point i didnt care]. enjoyed story of seasons and fantasy life very much. but couldnt get into the battle system of rune factory 4 [kept running out of MP]...and found it confusing. really disliked persona Q...and never tried bravely default, after hearing about repeating the game 4 times. like the option for auto-battles. just the option to adjust random encounters has seemed strange to me...growing up on pokemon games. thoughts???
So, can you still choose a nation in Birthright? what I mean is you get the birthright game, but you can still play as Nohr, and you get the advantages mentioned in this review? I saw a different review and it left me with not all questions being answered here as well.
no in whatever copy you buy you choose that side. if you buy it online then you get to make the choice but it locks it in so you can never make the other choice without the dlc
Not causing issues but I remember first hearing this while back you have a "choice" to choose which side your on. With 2 versions this and conquest did they change their plans to be a single game? Not that of s big deal as long I get these answers. 1. Is it worth buying both of them as in the story is extremely good and characters are really well made? 2. Besides factions what do they offer that the others doesn't have in features?
the story is ok. both halves don't have very amazing stories but they are service able and have their moments. the characters also are pretty good for the most part the biggest difference is that birthright is easier and plays more like awakening where conquest is much harder and plays more like the older games
+Watashi 4.5 Tatami still odd they had to separate them. One is easy while the other is harder is very odd on how they did this. Just imo but I dont think this was the right move to do it. It isn't Pokemon where 2 versions have their own pokemons exclusive to it and features and changes. It's like what if they split the story choices for say infamous games choice on being a hero or anti hero into 2 60 dollar games. It's just isn't right that they did this so honestly just gonna wait for them to do s combine version of it and knowing Nintendo they will do it eventually.
+darkmanknight1 Birthright only has the Hoshido path on it. Conquest only has the Norh path on it. The third path is DLC. You can download the conquest Path later if you have Birthright, or Birthright if you have conquest, but you pay for this download separately. Each game only comes with one of the three paths.
I hate how the first thing reviewers say about birthright is that its great for beginner's.The game is simply better for beginners to start with t wasn't made for them.
No, you can't pet them as it was in the Japanese version. The most you can do is poke them to wake them up in a separate event, which lasts like 5 seconds. The "petting" feature, with the dialogue and all, is still out, even with your spouse.
StickFigure I got the game, the guy who already answered my question is correct. Once you marry, you can skinship. Theirs also a "replacement" version of the original mechanic with the dialogue but no touching.
Nope, it's removed. Poking your spouse to wake them up is a separate event, which involves no dialogue. So yeah, all those 1900+ fully voiced lines that were in the skinship minigame in the Japanese version are still lost forever.
Review Skadoo For the n-th time: Those are the "after-petting" lines, there's still *over fifteen hundred* lines (fully voiced, btw) that happen *during* the petting, and no, we're not getting those since the interactive part is gone. We are still being cheated out of content, content which, in this case, encases 60% of the voice acting of the game.
It's for the newer generation, and all the stories are completely different. So if you see challenge, just play conquest or you can play birthright but don't use the grinding feature.
+Ahmon83 story isnt split. The story for each one is full and complete you do not have to have any other game to have any sort of closure on the other.
the review sounds like shes just trying to get the review over with by just rambling on with the script for the sake of making a video for views. no excitement whatsoever.
Great review when compared with the Conquest review. Any negatives in this review were well explained. (Don't even get me started on the person giving Conquest a lower score for difficulty alone. A third grader could have done a better Conquest review.)
"Everything you loved about Fire Emblem." Wrong, everything "you" loved about awakening.
Yeah it's not like they're both fire emblem games or something
what do you mean by that
+sonickhable I'm a little salty. Fire emblem awakening was my least favorite game in the series and the reviewer is praising everything everything that I disliked about awakening. The baby making, waifu stuff and how easy it is due to the grinding. At least this review wasnt "I suck at this game so i give it 7/10"
So I've never played a Fire Emblem game. Should I start with Birthright or go back and play Awakening? Thanks!
+Keith Saavedra Play the ones on GBA. Also try the ones on Gamecube and the Wii. You'll thank me later.
***** That's what upsets me...
+Quote I've played a lot of Advance Wars. Is there any similarity between the two? At least gameplay-wise?
You should get awaking it is over all has better characters even if the story is not as good
I was under the impresion that there is a version (At a higher price) that includes all 3. Is this true? My daughter really likes awakening and I wanted to get the 3 in 1 version for her.
Yes, it is the special edition but it's sold out in most places. Buying one now would be very expensive.
+Tessa Zolezzi one of my friend bought the specail edtion and only came birthright and conquest only. the she would need to buy the third one as DLC.
A tad late there lol. My daughter has already played through all 3 campaigns multiple times. She's really into Fire emblem.
oh,ok. but glad she likes them^^
This whole conversation made me happy!
from someone who's been playing for 13 years, I just gotta say, thank god they changed so many things and updated this game!!!!
You forgot to mention there is no Japanese audio!
I cannot buy this game when it ONLY has English dub.
weebs
It's because of copyrights since some of the VAs are jpop stars.
I'm modding the shit out of this game playing this with JP audio. Suck it, westaboos.
+Nelson W. lmao, westaboos. you mean normal people?
TheKingOfTown Nope. Normal people are not westaboos.
This will be the reason why I will buy a Nintendo 3Ds
I like alexa. she sounds legit.
"like untying a particularly convoluted knot." nice line :-)
If only they did not censor out some parts....
No one should care about a petting game, Fire Emblem Fates isn't a fucking petting zoo simulator, jesus fucking christ
I care. Japan cared since they had it.
Censorship in the US is kinda stupid.
They baby their children so much yet at the same time, they have rampant sex and drugs on TV.
Nelson II Salazar Salazar In what case. Thats parents disgression. When that happens its the parents fault not viewers.
+Nelson II ”Kanakanako_Exia” Salazar its the opposite, sex is taboo while hardcore violence is okey
+Nelson II “Kanakanako_Exia” Salazar there is sex than then they is literally petting people for them to like you more that's straight up creepy. Also they did sensor a few other things to make it for appropriate for western markets.
im debating on my next game being this...or fire emblem birthright [heard conquest gets ridicioulus as early as chapter 10]. im

enjoyed story of seasons and fantasy life very much. but couldnt get
into the battle system of rune factory 4 [kept running out of MP]...and
found it confusing.
really disliked persona Q...and never tried bravely default, after
hearing about repeating the game 4 times.
like the option for auto-battles. just the option to adjust random
encounters has seemed strange to me...growing up on pokemon games.
thoughts???

+Ryan Jewell
So downloading it gives you the choice in game while buying it in stores auto chooses for you based on the version you choose?
IRNStudios yeah
+Ryan Jewell
Ok cool! I'll wait to buy it until the new nintendo account system goes live! get me some early points!
Not causing issues but I remember first hearing this while back you have a "choice" to choose which side your on. With 2 versions this and conquest did they change their plans to be a single game?

+dungeonmaster16 a normal 3ds cart cant fit both conquest and birthright thats why there's the special edition that has the high capacity cartridge.
+dungeonmaster16 a normal 3ds cart cant fit both conquest and birthright thats why there's the special edition that has the high capacity cartridge.
+magic1wizard that's bs, the others path are more of lines of dialogue because they alredy have the assets.
can't wait to get this, awakening was awesome and is what got me into the series. I wonder which one I should get first......
Wait, if in both version you star the same same way, in noir, and pick one of the 3 paths, does it actually matter what copy of the game you buy?
+darkmanknight1 Birthright only has the Hoshido path on it. Conquest only has the Norh path on it. The third path is DLC. when I played Awakening, I didn't use casual mode once, the ONLY time I used casual was because I was forced to in the demo
so fuck Phoenix mode
Thank you very much for very telling me this.
Question so if you buy birthright you can not do the conquest storyline
Should I get this or awakening
"Twists and TWERKS"??
What a lovely in depth review. Thanks! I'll definitely get me my first Fire Emblem game soon.
Do you know when it comes out in the UK? I'm thinking about picking it up
+Tobias Rasmussen you should definitely play Awakening. It's a great game.
If Subaki marries someone,Get I get his offspring Paralouge quickly
Didn't they remove the face rubbing in the western version? :D
I hate how the first thing reviewers say about birthright is that its great for beginner's.The game is simply better for beginners to start with t wasn't made for them.
😂 here have a cookie
"Touching my husbands face"
But... didn't they say they removed skinship from the game?
I guess this is why you shouldn't listen to Kotaku lol
You can still pet your husband/wife.
+Opinionist Yay!
+Opinionist Really? Is there some proof that this is still in the U.S version of the game?
No, you can't pet them as it was in the Japanese version. The most you can do is poke them to wake them up in a separate event, which lasts like 5 seconds. The "petting" feature, with the dialogue and all, is still out, even with your spouse.
StickFigure I got the game, the guy who already answered my question is correct. Once you marry, you can skinship. Theirs also a "replacement" version of the original mechanic with the dialogue but no touching.
so you can poke their faces? they didnt remove it?
Only with the character your MU S supports with.
Nope, it's removed. Poking your spouse to wake them up is a separate event, which involves no dialogue. So yeah, all those 1900+ fully voiced lines that were in the skinship minigame in the Japanese version are still lost forever.
+StickFigure The lines are still there. There's just no rubbing minigame you have to do to unlock them.
Review Skadoo

+StickFigure If by "fully voiced" you mean grunts and "oh my" then yes, you're missing out on that.
she forgot to mention the yaoi dialog in this game
Why the fuck would I want to play an easy Fire Emblem? I don't like the direction they've been taking with the series since Awakening...
get conquest then.
I would prefer it if they didn't split the games story up, and have them set at different difficulties.
It's for the newer generation, and all the stories are completely different.
So if you see challenge, just play conquest or you can play birthright but don't use the grinding feature.
+Ahmon83 story isnt split. The story for each one is full and complete you do not have to have any other game to have any sort of closure on the other.
+Ahmon83 Can't you put Birthright on the hardest modes?
Much better than IGNs reviews. Gj gs
the review sounds like shes just trying to get the review over with by just rambling on with the script for the sake of making a video for views. no excitement whatsoever.
She sounded quite enthusiastic at the beginning though.
What does this have to do with anything?
She didn't seem all that interested
why still no EU release date??!
thanks!
You can't rub the face. They took that out and just made it a face viewer .
You can. Just only your spouse
+Major Motoko you can do if only they are asleep in the game.
game 10 out of 10 reviewer 0 out of 10
Is Camilla on birthrights side? No? OK.
Dominic Richardson I ended up getting all three. All I have to do is finish revelations
Dominic Richardson Hasn't gotten to Europe yet? That's terrible. I like all the stories so far, but It's like buying multiple games.
why 8 must be a 10 OR 9.5
Playstation must be paying alot to this channel
Wow no 5 out of 10, for being too easy.
Dominic Richardson It was a joke because they gave Conquest a low score for being to hard.
i just cant get into this... people enjoy this???
+OPEN WORLD SWAGGAZ ok little kid, you keep lying to yourself lol
Birthright is a terrible game to start out with.
Why?
Not first :(
I love u gamespot
