Love your video, I'm a Tassie and love visiting Melbourne. I was shocked to see you bought a takeaway coffee at the markets. I would never do that , so many good places to have a good coffee in Melbourne without the need of a takeaway cup.
Thanks for the food tips Ryan.. always enjoy your videos, wishing u and hubbie a very merry Christmas.. looking forward to your videos in 2024… safe travels
Great video Ryan . Melbourne is the food capital of Aussie , nothing comes close . I do love the Adelaide central Market though , it’s a fantastic place . The “ Bit too late “ waffle bought a chuckle , you could have been really naughty with that , but it is a family channel I guess . Enjoy Italy , I’ve been once , it’s fab.
Haha yes that waffle was good for a laugh. Adelaide does lack a little culinary variety compared to Melbourne, we are slightly traditional and tend not to stray too far from the tried and tested.

Yes, I'm on a hunt for authentic Thai in Melbourne. I just did Number12 several weeks ago. That's great as well. I have my eyes set on Nana Thai on my next trip to Melbourne.
Pik prik is pretty good too. There’s also a new Khao Soi place on Latrobe street. Thai food in melb cbd has really improved in the last couple of years. Though there’s still room for more. For authentic pizza in the cbd check out spqr or +39. In Carlton DOC is pretty good too.
Hahahahaha I actually studied in Melbourne! I'm an RMIT alumni. I've always loved Melbourne. Just that I began my migration journey in SA. And now I got married there.
Laksa in Australia is pretty dire, so I make do with what I can find. 449 Elizabeth St, Melbourne VIC 3000, you'll find Laksa House. They serve something called Malaysian Curry Laksa, which strangely isn't Malaysian... It isn't ANYTHING really. But it's the closest to the Laksa I know. Try that one. I kinda liked it.
@@ryansofly thanks honey. Does Melbourne have Thai town , just like the one they have in Sydney ?. She's got craving for laksa but strangely Thai also!!!
@@johnt6022 so far the 2 which I've tasted in this video offer the best Thai. KMG for chicken rice (not so much the tomyam), and Soi 38 for everything else.
That's how the western pallette likes Thai food. Then when they taste the ACTUAL authentic ones in Thailand, they yearn for the watered down sweet version. 🤣

Another great vlog Ryan and it was nice to see your husband and friend Karen. Melbourne is always good for food! One day you’ll have to check out the Sri Lankan places down there and Sydney- I’ve heard they’re not too bad and the only cities that have good SL food. Unfortunately we have none in Brisbane. We used to about 20 years ago but there’s been nothing since then. Your Italy blogs with your husband will be amazing I’m sure. 🙂
I'm yet to find Sri Lanka cuisine in Adelaide. There is a grocer which makes puttu string hoppers to order, that's about it. Yeah we fly out to Europe in 2 weeks. Malta, Gozzo, Rome, Venice, Zurich and London. Yippee!
@@ryansofly yippee indeed! One of the major issues with SL food run as a business, is a massive disconnect between the food side which is good, and the business accumen/ proper advertising of it.
