The, now famous, South Melbourne dim sim started out as the South Melbourne Market dim sim. It was actually invented by a Greek lady. She tried the traditional dim sim and thought they should be bigger and needed a bit more flavour. So she made her own and the rest is history. They are now available all over the country as the South Melbourne dim sim. There are some fake ones around, but the originals are still the best. I'm lucky enough to have a great cafe near me and they sell the real thing.
So glad this video popped up in my feed! I’m planning a trip to Australia and New Zealand for this time of year 2025. I had planned on going to the Queen Victoria Market, but will now add the South Melbourne market to my itinerary. Great video!
