10:24 Ariel’s office chair. Lmfao. It is a beautiful shell! I’m glad Mike has trained his stomach so well, so we can watch him enjoy such large quantities of food!
Never mind the Uni Place, that AYCE Skewered Meats place was quite amazing ... So juicy!! And the tray of seasonings and the sesame dip. I thought I could taste each piece when he took a bite ... 🌿
Been watching for a long time but to be honest the only reason I watch now is to look at the comments 😂 I think the longer someone streams the more direct/brutal their comment section is
Glen Waverley (sea urchin) is an Asian food heaven! The buffet is a 10 minute drive away. When you come to Melbourne, a souvlaki is what many have after a big night out. That example is what most look like. I am a lamb souvlaki all day. Great food in every suburb of Melbourne.
I noticed Mike struggling with the letter “u”. Ikura = Ikora, tempura = tempora. Kudos for saying those Japanese words wrongly but with high confidence
i always see that BBQ place whenever im in burwood and ive always been interested in trying it, now i know whats in there, just makes me wanna go more!
And that will be $1000 😅 I miss when you put prices I know you do on some but like these restaurants you go too where you get various things from there that be dope.
I think his "Wagyu"of the sea comment was trying to compare the buttery taste and the way Wagyu dissolves on your tongue to Uni's texture. However I can't stand Uni so I could be totally wrong
As a person from the southeastern US I 100% respect to concept of "We have this invasive species wrecking our ecosystem, what do we do about it?" being answered with "Let's make 'em tasty AF..".
You don't even have to do much with Sea Urchins from middle of no where south eastern Aus. They just taste soo amazing when you do as little to preparation as possible. That's the crazy thing about this pest.
@@Neojhun I've had them before but those are flown in and while delicious I cant even imagine how good they are fresh... That being said, I'm not wishing for them to come here because they are invasive to our area.
At 17:55, he didn't describe the flavor. "Melts in your mouth pure flavor." What kind of flavor? Spicy, salty, sour or what? What makes it more convincing is how he says it with a flair for the dramatic which still really doesn't help.
I guess Melbourne VIC is due for another visit. Been awhile. As an aside I've no idea Hurr Chen isn't a blob of gluttony. Oh heck I love his visits to Japan 7/11 . Enough of a confession. He ain't a psychologist
The first time I had or even seen an abalone, was with a dive group. I was handed the muscle & told to pound it into steaks...they got back & I said I wasn't successful. That the mallet kept bouncing off. Nope, I wasn't told to slice it thin first...😅
I was going to say, is it ok to eat all that sea urchin? Seems like it would decimate the population. And then you said they're invasive and I was like, "ah well then eat away." Ahaha.
Come to South Africa my man! So much different food cultures and our own unique stuff too ofc.. Ive been commenting for years for you to come try South Africa!
Australia is ridiculously expensive, he is eating very high quality food in a large volume, I would be surprised if he didn’t spend under $1,000 on the meal.
I think Mike I does an amazing job of descibing the food!!!! The only thing i miss is his visiting down to earth common people food but I am usually hungry by the time he explains what he is eating.
well i had a look at their menu and they charge $20 AUD for a "kids mac n cheese" the portion of course is kids size and looks like half (if even that) a box of kraft mac n cheese from Woolworths wich is worth $3.50 AUD so basically: $1.75 worth of mac n cheese a thumb size fried rice wrapped in a tiny sheet of seaweed 1 strawberry, 4 grapes, and a single thin slice of an orange ...all for $20. maybe somewhere in there you have your answer
Everything looks great, but I just want that little self-turning skewer grill.
Ok😊
10:24 Ariel’s office chair. Lmfao. It is a beautiful shell! I’m glad Mike has trained his stomach so well, so we can watch him enjoy such large quantities of food!
That remark made me lol too 😊
He's such fun to watch!! 😊🎉
I live in Melbourne, in fact the bbq place is near my house, and yet I didn’t know these places existed!!! Must try!
Hey Mike.. Happy Saturday! Australia was showing off with the buffet. Have a great day. Do Enjoy!! 🐞🤗😋
NOWAY!!! you were in my suburb of Glen Waverley, this is soo coooool!!!
I know right! and Burwood One is right by our doorstep.
Never have I wanted food more than watching this, Oh my Lanta! 🤣💕
The “small ikura” is tobiko. Flying fish row. Very common.
Great to see Mike enjoying Melbourne food scene
Never mind the Uni Place, that AYCE Skewered Meats place was quite amazing ... So juicy!! And the tray of seasonings and the sesame dip. I thought I could taste each piece when he took a bite ... 🌿
7:15 That is $138AUD (~$90USD) for the 1 bowl of sea urchin rice.
For once in your life, it's worth it for many people. Definitely not a weekly brunch item.
You’re In Melbourne!, welcome!! ❤
One more reason for Australia to be on my bucket list
The whole fish looked delicious.
Been watching for a long time but to be honest the only reason I watch now is to look at the comments 😂 I think the longer someone streams the more direct/brutal their comment section is
In NZ we call it Kina and we loooove it😊
Umami umami melt like butter
7:38 "fresh ushabi" 😂

Some of the best seafood in the world in Australia and Melbourne has some of the best restaurants=outstanding place to eat!!!
Doing John Daub proud 😊
yum kina
My great grandpa used to eat garden fresh tomatoes with fresh cream and sugar.
Yeah Australian here.. love sea urchin
Oh my goodness you are in my hometown welcome to Australia
It would be a dream come true if I could ever eat at a place like this. Sea urchin is my #1 fav.
Welcome to Melbourne! Love your channel
Decided to do a drinking game. Every time he says creamy or umami, take a shot. It's only 4:30 mins in, and i need a new bottle.
How's the hangover?
Thank you for taking us on your journey. Truly appreciated
Wait till you try Aotearoas (NZ) kina (uni) and the paua (abalone) fried in butter , onions and topped with cream (creamed paua) 😋
I noticed Mike struggling with the letter “u”. Ikura = Ikora, tempura = tempora. Kudos for saying those Japanese words wrongly but with high confidence
YEET
It’s his accent I think. I’m also Asian and I struggled with that too. Got bullied so hard back then I was even considering offing myself.
doesnt matter 😂
CAWLI-flower
Wow ! Meal for Kings 😊
i always see that BBQ place whenever im in burwood and ive always been interested in trying it, now i know whats in there, just makes me wanna go more!
The bbq place was ridiculous. Wow!
15:10 BBQ POWER 😂🎉
For some reason when Mike holds his hands open I get a strange craving for sausages.
damn what a feast!
After watching you for so long, being able to see you appreciate the food in my city is so so great!!
I am already hungry and I just had breakfast lol
Epic. But also not sure Mike actually knows what umami is…..
mike, start a challenge where you never say the world 'ooh-ma-mee' when describing food
Right lol
Challenge impossible.
uni keeping mike big as hell
And that will be $1000 😅 I miss when you put prices I know you do on some but like these restaurants you go too where you get various things from there that be dope.
I just moved to Sydney! Now I gotta visit Melbs for that BBQ 🤤
Tasmania wow thats going to be interesting to see 👌🏻
I think his "Wagyu"of the sea comment was trying to compare the buttery taste and the way Wagyu dissolves on your tongue to Uni's texture. However I can't stand Uni so I could be totally wrong
This is the most beautiful resturant you have ever filmed in my opinion. I have never wanted to visit Australia - I do now!
Does anyone count how many times Mike says "sweet"? LoL!
Well seafood is both salty and sweet. There isn’t a lot more you can use to describe it
Thank you. May I have another. Great job, Mike....

Sydney is good for food but I do have to say, even without being there, Melbourne is the food capital of Australia
Remember wen he did not like sushi
I wanna know what he did cause I wanna like sushi but still don’t 😢😢😢
Yeah, and?
@@ridingyourdadyeah and he has come a long way from not liking it to loving it Ok??
i want to know how he overcame it cuz i still can’t eat raw fish
Me too. I don’t eat raw fish.
Man, Melbourne has fresh oosabi 7:38. Not even Japan has that.
Looks amazing. Just want to say though, Uni are gonads... GIANT gonads.
Good suggestion. What does Aqua Man eat?
Melbourne, nothing better :)
Exquisite!!!
Mike always making things look good🔥🔥🔥🔥

When in doubt, umami.
I love sea urchin!
Bonza living the dream😂😂😂❤😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

That's definitely a place to goto if you love seafood especially raw
+1 place to visit when I'm in Australia early 2026
It’s so funny because for year I have no idea what ‘sea urchin’ or ‘uni’ were. Until I learnt they were KINA!
so jelly. great job
Ummm New Zealand eat a lot of sea urchin but ours are native and are called Kina 😍😍 we love it straight from the ocean still in the shell
Mikey needs to upload everyday!!!!
The first time I had or even seen an abalone, was with a dive group. I was handed the muscle & told to pound it into steaks...they got back & I said I wasn't successful. That the mallet kept bouncing off. Nope, I wasn't told to slice it thin first...😅
Delicious ❤❤
I like him, I do but after watching him for YEARS, I wish he would study a thesaurus to give us different descriptions for the foods/drinks.
I love his simple descriptions 😂 i just need to know if its bad, good or amazing without the fluff!
@rollingmaryjane8981 good luck with that. 85% of his "ratings" are fluff.
I dunno about all the uni, but that BBQ joint is my kinda place!
Melanie Martinez playing in a BBQ buffet slay
I look forward to the Sydney episodes so I know where to eat 😀. I don’t think I go to the right places even being a local.
Any plans for Auckland NZ?
pretty sure the fish is a Sanmar
If sea urchin is invasive why is it so expensive most places 😭
I was going to say, is it ok to eat all that sea urchin? Seems like it would decimate the population. And then you said they're invasive and I was like, "ah well then eat away." Ahaha.
Looks delicious! Love your content Mike ❤❤❤❤
He's gonna be crapping yellow
If we are going by Jason Mamoa Aquaman, he reguraly came to the surface for beer.
Please come back Mickey, I've foodied vicariously through you for many years. Australia has much food to offer.

Pls try captain kaimoana when you come to auckland bro!
Haha didn't even know this place is right next door to my gym I go to... Next time train and then uni
remember when mike said he didnt liked uni, that it tasted like the sea vomited on his mouth?
Omg
You must try Hataka Gensuke in Melbourne!
Yes good suggestion.
total of the bill?
😊
How much did the uni meal cost?
Australia is ridiculously expensive, he is eating very high quality food in a large volume, I would be surprised if he didn’t spend under $1,000 on the meal.
@@Darby0642easy !
It’s not that good. Rice texture and tastes were off, ambient a bit cheap and eclectic for the price, but great service.
Am I the only one who remember the days that Mike didn't like sushi and sashimi and never tried it befor
Santa Barbara in the US has great uni too.
The should have named The Roe, Fertility.
I think Mike I does an amazing job of descibing the food!!!! The only thing i miss is his visiting down to earth common people food but I am usually hungry by the time he explains what he is eating.
Sea urchin reminds me of Surfs Up lol
Mike is a foodie gangster 😎
Whats y'alls beef with UMAMI 🤨
If sea urchins are a pest in Australia then why do they charge an arm and a leg
