I was amazed ! watched it > 5 times took note of how you used different inversions of the chord to better fit what you was doing. I became an instant fan . Hope you make a billon dollars but I know even if you don't ur still going to do what your born to do . Your the finest n most diverse young musician ive ever seen on here . Thanks Josh , n continue to inspire people on your path to reinvent music.
the fact you do not change your tone or face as you state who you look like just makes this so much funnier. One of my favorite talents on youtube, keep it up man hopefully one day I will be able to play just as well as you
My passion for the guitar has gone up and down, back and forth during the last few years. But today I somehow came across your channel - and all I can say is wow! You made me realize what this instrument is all about. I haven't felt this motivated to take my guitar playing to the next level for a long time. Thank you! And I guess it goes without saying, but I'd love to see more lessons from you. You're great.
Thank you big time man. I was so impressed by your cover years ago (before even having picked up a guitar), and now I am so proud I can at least track the rhythm part at a reasonable pace. People like you make the world and the Internet a place worth living in.
I must have missed this before. What a great gift! Wow! I must have watched your performance video ten times before deciding to learn it. What luck! The way you present the lesson in three parts makes this great tune easy to learn. Also saw your other channel with the tutorials and will check them out. Thanks so much for sharing.
This is one of those songs I just thought I would never be able to play. It feels awesome to be able to have gotten this far with your help. Not at your level quite yet, but I am not making the faces yet. Might be the difference. Thank you so much!
Josh, I love listening/ seeing this even though I don't play the guitar. You are a great teacher! Throwing in a bit of humor really makes this video fun . I'm amazed you figured all this out w just your ear. Well done son! Thank you
I think that your version of this song is wonderful, you actually add your touch to a song that we heard thousand of times and make it fresh. In addition to that you teach it very clearly. I almost never comment TH-cam videos but i really needed to thank you for that, you've got a new contributor
I really enjoyed this! You convey what you are playing very well, and your instructions are clear and concise! A lot of tutorials get drown out in irrelevant information, or things that just don't make any sense what so ever, but you stayed on point! Keep it up! :D
Glad I found this Josh - have watched so many tutorials and lessons on Sultans to try to get the strumming pattern - but could never get it or understand how it was supposed to fit onto 4:4 time. I now get finally get it - thank you. Excellent video, appreciated.
I believe the reason for your face grimashing is the same reason some of us cannot learn stuff like this. You "feel", "sense", "foreboding" something that not all of us has the ability to. And some of us can feel it when others play, but not make it ourselves. You, are a musical genius in my opinion.
So talented, and low keyed!!! Very understated! Josh has a real focused grasp of Matk Knopfler's techniques. When my skills imrove I shall be back. Busy focusing on beginner's level of Spanish classical guitar. THANKS
This is truly the best TH-cam guitar instruction video I have ever seen. You capture all the the subtlety and fine points that are required to sound like Mark Knopfler. The lesson is expertly organized. Thank you.
Josh, I dont know if you'll read this but I would LOVE to hear your take on "Message in a bottle" by the Police. I'm a huge fan bud and you've been a huge inspiration with your videos!! THANK YOU!
Josh, you are outrageously good. And hilarious I might add. Im sixty seven and picked up the guitar a year ago. it's a new life for me. I've noticed some earlier comments are peppered with juvenile humor; rather sad to see that. But, I don't always take myself seriously either. Keep up the good work. Trains passing frequently..... Chicago?
K TH So it's cool on the "interweb" (is that what they're calling it now days?) to be a juvenile moron and hurl insults at old people? Just because it's the internet, doesn't make it right. It's people like you whom he's talking about, you millennial piece garbage, you.
Watching guys like you josh has inspired me to do a few covers of my own. Didn't think I could do it but seeing you and others just play in your bedroom with your buddies looked like fun so Iv kicked in with my own channel. And I'd like to say thanks for the inspiration. Making me get off my ass and do it. I'll never play like you but I'm getting the same enjoyment so thanks for sharing your talent really enjoy watching. 👍
Hi Joshy! You are one of the most talented musicians on youtube. You have really inspired me to start my channel. Are you ever going to Sweden? It would be awesome to hear you live.
Do more of these types of videos. I really liked the "It was a very good year" piece you recorded and would love if you could make a tutorial of that. Your Sultans of Swing cover is what initially drew me to this channel. Great work, I'm a big fan.
The first arrangement I transscribed, this sent me down a beautiful path of becoming much better much faster, so thank you for your cover all these years ago!
OMG I watched the cover like 1000 times always listen to it when i play videogames and now i can learn it by myself from the master O.o. Thx man for making this, keep it up! Edit: hahaha the intro man :D I cant stop laughing
Sorry Josh I forgot to say I absolutely loved your Sultans of Swing lesson, I can finally play it on my own now. Which is great for me because here in England we have open mike nights in pubs and clubs, which is pretty much were anyone can get up and play and sing. It kink of builds your confidence to play in front of people. Thanks Josh.
When I watched your version 6 years ago I wished so much for this and now it's here! I am sooo happy right now. Can't wait to start practising. Thank you very much.
I first watched this vid a year ago, and thought I'd never be able to play this. Now I'm proud to say I can do the first chord! Hopefully soon i get to the second.
I remember years ago when I spent weeks watching your cover trying to learn exactly what you were doing bit by bit! I guess I should have waited hahah!

Its really wonderful to see you break this all down. I've lost an interest in playing guitar, but I still love to see it being played. I have no doubt I could pick up this song using this lesson. Keep up the great work!
Great video of a great song! I've noticed that sound of your voice is so clear and loud, therefore i have a question! Could u please tell us what Mic do u use and do u have any additional devices to record your speach?
hhmmmm looks like Rode NT5 is a hypercardioid mic but it is getting your voice really great even while placed that far away of your mouth.... i got my vocal mic Cobalt Co9 from Electro voice and i have to hold it as close as possible to get a good signal so it is not really comfortable during broadcasts... so i use my mic on a headphones and sound is quite bad...
Well, 50 points to Gryffindor

I don’t normally laugh at comments and shit (because I have no sense of humour), but I bursted so hard into laughter when I saw your comment
