Damn Yoni man.. You make it look just normal..
Is it allowed to publish a coversong on youtube without asking the composer/texter? I did it with the boxer...
This is unbelievable. To hold the melody line, beat, chords, every riff, and sing.....holy shit. Amazing
Kyle Shea with enough practice anything is possible
As a mediocre guitar player myself I can tell you that he is not thinking about the strings at all. His hands already know where to go. He’s played this 1,000 times for sure. Muscle memory. For me this would be incredibly difficult. I would have to spend a year playing it over and over and still might not get this good. He probably thinks this is easy.
@@yepimfresh Well, that's simply not so. Some people can never do this.
Right!!!!? This guy is the real deal.
@@bschultz44 Thats why i said with enough practice. And Kenny phillips, Anyone can do this, with the time and effort this is very doable
He definitely knows all the chords.
Like guitar George?
He literally used 5 chords here though 😂
@Paul Angel I think it just becomes naturel with feel of the neck. but yeah its pretty hard
Definitly.
@Paul Angel on the top of the neck have dots too.
I hope people really realize the full difficulty of this cover. The lead guitar of this song is enough to keep one busy. But this outstanding dude played the rhythm, the beat, all the riffs, solos and sang the freaking song at the same time. That's unbelievable really...
You speak to me from the soul. I think, only musicians can really tell. He is a real master
Thank you! Came here to say this. And without edits! And this is a long-ass song with lots of lyrics, too. I don’t know how many takes this tool, but I’m just blown away!
Yeah he's secretly one of the best on TH-cam. He makes it look so easy, but when you try one of his lessons 🤯 His right hand technique in particular is just next level.
I so understand what you are saying! I have been playing, writing and singing and performing for 30+ years, and ANYONE who does not understand what a skill this is, is certainly not on the right planet!!! :)
Still seemed so effortless!
Like WTF..
This guy just played a complete band version of one of the most iconic rock songs of all time on an acoustic guitar while not even use half the fretboard. Hats off to you sir!
Yes!! This really is the best acoustic cover of Sultans of Swing
Omg! Too much talent here, this page is going to blow
Good,.... But I prefer Josh Turner's cover
Best cover of anything I have ever heard. Just learned this in Dm. Can't wait to try it your way. The interpretation was brilliant and flawless. You're a genius.
David Edward Except Josh Turner's not acoustic. This one's unique.
Boa!
Technically perfect. Seemingly effortless. Emotionally uplifting. A true master of his craft.
Yes!! You said it!! Yoni is an exceptional talent. :D
I am very pleased to have discovered Yoni's performance of SOS, breathtaking. This song is a song i have never tired of, ever, i used to play it everyday in the car for months. It is a very modest, understated feel to it but technically exceptional, i think Yoni loves the song, i would guess he picked his guitar up 1 day for a quick 5 minute 'thing' and got into SOS and probably happily plays away the whole day, especially when he had the basic structure. Alot, if not everyone else has 'looper' but i really wanted to riff and lead at the same time and this version has given me some hope. Thanks for the tutorial Yoni i will persevere.
72earthwood couldn’t have said it better
This guy has 4 brains
One for the bassline
One for the drum
One for the guitar
One for the lyrics
Amazing cover !!
Lead guitar and rhythm guitar together so that is an extra one
When I first heard it I genuinely thought there was a backing track playing as well
Totally amazed..great job.dude.loved it.made my day.
Awesome!
Muy buena observación!!
Some people don't know how unbelievably difficult this is. You are watching thousands of hours and years of hard work culminated in this cover right here. This is insanely hard to do and only the absolute best guitarists can achieve this level of mastery. Big ups my man, your countless hours of practice are recognized!

the perfection in the guitar playing is on a level I've never heard before, it's completely flawless from start to finish I just don't understand how this is possible in one take
Yes, quite an extraordinary music man!
I can play the basic chords for this song but all the soloing on acoustic is beyond my level.Brilliant playing by this guy. Real skill.

Tnx so much guys for your lovely comments! It made me really happy :-)
I got many requests for tabs and tutorial. I'm defentley gonna do this soon. There's already an old tutorial for the right hand. You welcome to try it:
th-cam.com/video/H8BY8LflKPY/w-d-xo.html
But before all this. let me tell you the story of this arrangement . Maybe things will get clearer after, and help you play that song this way:
I'm playing Sultans for many years. Like everyone I started with the electric guitar, learning all the riffs and of course- the solo.
But most of all I felt the energy of this song! There's something about the rhythm that pushes you forward all the time, and as far as I know it's unique to this song, there's no other song with that beat.
So, with that outcome, I started working on my right hand techniqe, cause I think everything
comes from the tight hand. And I found this techniqe which keeps that "pushing forward" feeling. You can see that in the tutorial above.
After I cought the idea, I started thinking how I'm gonna put all the riffs inside, so I was looking for an easyer way to do the chords so I can concetrate on the impotant things without hard positins. Capo 5 gave me the answer for that.
So, now i have my right hand working automaticly (and while knoking on strings I can still make a note, and it's really important in fingerstyle and in this song praticulaty), and I have my nice
capo 5, so I just took all the riffs I already know, and try to get them inside this patern. During the song most of the time, the riffs will take place while I play E chord (which is the A chord originaly, but on capo 5, it becomes an E) so the sixth strings is open, and no problem , just doing the riffs
with no further solutions to find like create more fingers on my hand ;)
Nevertheless, The solos were another story.. there I needed to pull other rabbits from my hat,
but we'll get to this in the tutorial one day.
So, thats about it for now. Again- tnx for the comments, I'm really glad you liked it, and Im sure that with some practice you can also do this!
If you have any questions about anything, just ask me here. Ill be happy to answer everything.
Have a great weekend everyone :-)
Yoni
Incredible, the capo is a brilliant idea but man you keep the swing going all the way, you make it flow effortlessly. So groovy! I'm a long fan of Dire Strait and I think this is the best cover I have heard. All the best.

Wow. You are awesome playing it
I'm glad I got to see someone with this much passion today. Please do keep going.

I have played guitar for 29 years (semi-professionally, mainly as a hobbyist) and this is one song I have never included in my repertoire, as it is just so difficult to get right singing and playing. Absolutely amazing. You are an brilliant player.
I am 22 years old and I have played the guitar for the last 10, I have played professionally and I consider myself an extremely good guitarist but this guy makes me see that I still have a lot to learn.
You have thought about every single riff in this song, and put it along side the rhythm, your attention to detail is sublime. My god that is superb 👏👏

This may be the best cover I've ever seen. I find Knopfler's voice particularly hard to copy, so doing all that along with the rhythm etc is just amazing. And the solo was beautiful.
Bravo!
Whilst I am picking my jaw up from the floor, I wondered how this man learned this? He obviously doesn't spend much time on housework, so that must be his secret. Henceforth I shall no longer do laundry, dishes or sweep! Bravo yes Bravo my honored sir! That was simply (but not simple) spectacular! Not only is the technique fantastic, but this cover shows a remarkable understanding for the guitar and music, as well as for what makes sultans of swing special in the first place. You rarely see this kind of musicality from TH-cam covers. Absolutely amazing, good job, man.
Well said. Absolutely spot on. The way he plays those fills and eases into the chords shows his understanding of notes and chords. Beautiful stuff.
completely agree, have you checked out Josh Turner (guitar, not the country guy) ?
Sam Jones Of course. He also has an excellent interpretation of the song. His is more similar to the original, and less interesting for it in my opinion.
