OMG! Leila, I want this played at my funeral ! The most beautiful piece of music that I have ever heard in my life, and nobody does it so much justice than Leila Josefowcicz.
I’m totally obsessed with Leila and this gorgeous piece. I’ve watched this about 20 times. I’m sure I’ll watch it 20 more. Love her passion as she plays.
I heard her in Paris, when she was at the beginning of her career... Hillary Hahn is a fellow of her,Saw her also in Paris..But Leila has something special!!!A personal sound, timber, very musician!!!Great!!
One of the best meditation/thais violin performance I've heard. Solid no notes unturned. Just wonder whats the maker of the fiddle. German? Italian? Chinese?
@@LaurenceHuntKenora_Ontario The following is part of a larger ‘Life Lessons’ interview with Leila Josefowicz in The Strad’s May 2018 issue. I commissioned my violin from Sam Zygmuntowicz after playing various old Italian instruments which, because they were on loan, would end up being taken away and I’d be left searching for a replacement. Sam listened to me play and asked me what I wanted from a new violin. My priorities were a big range of colours and the ability to feel in control no matter where on the instrument I was playing, and I really couldn’t be happier with the result.
I would suggest that to get the most out of the violin, that she use a chin rest, It appears to me that those cloth pieces that she uses might be muffling the true sound of her violin, although it sound beautiful even with the cloth she uses as her chin rest.
Just stunning! I’ve watched this dozens of times. Makes me cry, it’s so beautiful. I love the passion on her face.
I don't know why, but when I hear and see her play, my heart melts, I get very emotional and tears come to my eyes.
Sublime Leila !!!🥰
Love the silence when she finished the piece. People’s mind must have transported to somewhere. Magical.
That's how most pieces allways should finish, with some seconds to appretiate how the last note blends with silence. :-)
Most beautiful piece of violin music I've ever heard! Transcends space & time!

She is such a new music aficionado, it’s great to hear her here in a traditional cantilena.
Superb technique and musicality, a one of a kind interpreter, wonderfully beautiful!
Perfect .she is a genius
This gal is going to be an instructor for our orchestra this year. I had no clue she was going to be this good when I looked her up. Dang.

Wow. She performed it so beautifully and cleanly. Being so young she is unable to fall into the maudlin pit as so many older violinist do.

Okay, this is Leonard Slatkin conducting (he's a master at accompaniment), but which orchestra? BBC Proms? Detroit?
super, danke
The most beautiful piece of music for the violin?
One of the best meditation/thais violin performance I've heard. Solid no notes unturned. Just wonder whats the maker of the fiddle. German? Italian? Chinese?
Chinese?!??! Chinese made violins are a joke. No way a virtuoso would be playing one of those
She had mentioned Guarneri on her CBC Radio interview this month.

@@roadwarrior1981thank you for the information.
100/100 for not using shoulder rest :) :D
Saeid Yazdani: Agree 1000%. The shoulder rest seems to be a contemporary protease in violin playing.
👏👏👏👏🇦🇷🇦🇷🇦🇷
does she play music that is in her soul instead of renditions of everyone elses?
What has been of her? We haven't seen anything recent. I'm I missing something?
No comparison ..... does she still have her Guarneri?
and Jules Massenet was a friend of Impressionnist guys.....
saw image picture of Cezanne and Massenet
one person is crazy (dislike? pleaseeee!!!)

Chopin ?
三月不知肉味
why her violin sounds a bit like erhu? Very Asian tune....does it sound like that just to me?
Massenet friend of Cezanne and Gauguin and Impressionniata
