@@marshagreen9759 I don’t buy that she has them. There hasn’t been one slip up. I thought after the knock to the head that it would change things… but nothing. I think the looming threat of the strike caused a lot of issues in the pacing of the script at the beginning of summer. Like they were trying to drag storylines out as much as possible so that the temp writers wouldn’t be able to make too many changes to the stories the way the original crew wanted to tell it.

I have to admit, I honestly have never really been a big fan of Joss... But, the past few months, she's REALLY been stepping up as a BFF - being very supportive of Trina and even saying pleasant things about Spencer. So, I wanted to give props to her for THAT. 👏👏👏👏
Yes!! Mini usually gets in my nerves but she’s really been a good BFF to her these last few episodes. Really knowing Trina and trying to calm her down and also let her be upset and not her usual “go into fix it mood”. She let her be in her feelings. Now, if she could just be honest about her life🤣
The ficore writers have been great for her character. I hope the regular writers keep her this way. Their friendship with Trina feels more balanced. She’s been kinder to Spencer too.

Oh, believe me, Esme was enjoying Spencer almost cancelling on Trina. She knows Spencer cares about Ace, & she’s manipulating the situation to her advantage.
Spencer, even if Ace had the Chicken Pox... It's the chicken pox, not freaking cancer. A fever and itchiness is literally all that is and if Esme can't take care of her own child over a common rash that every kid eventually gets, then you need to get her a nanny and some more parenting classes. Canceling over something like this was so ridiculous and disrespectful of Trina's time and energy. And Esme needs to get a damn grip. Everything that goes on with Ace is not the end of a world. Kids get sick, they get chicken pox, they get fevers and sometimes injuries from playing hard too. If Esme is going to require you to drop everything every time Ace has a sneeze, you need to stop wasting Trina's time Spencer and set her free.

I agree, you will have to set some boundaries if Trina is your girlfriend, and you are her boyfriend. Trina is special, so treat her special, someone else might be looking at her and you are unaware of.
I think chicken pox in babies under a year is actually pretty dangerous and Ace is technically 6ish months old. Completely understandable for him to want to stay. Especially if something went South.
This chicken pox nonsense was beyond annoying because it didn’t lead to anything interesting like Spencer choosing Trina for once or Trina letting loose on how much she dislikes Esme. It was a brief moment of unnecessary angst that was quickly resolved. A complete waste of time. We could have gotten airplane scenes instead.
I love that it worked out in the end; but, I am really tired of the writers making it seem as if Trina's plans revolve around Spencer. I need the writers to make Trina a little more independent where she will make and follow through on alternative plans when Spencer cancels on her. This might make him open his eyes and stop taking her for granted.
So basically this is what Trina gets to look forward to when they return from New York. It’s like being in a bubble for a few days a la The Haunted Star but then returning to some nonsense.

This scene reinforced my original point that the powers that be gave up on Esme and her character development months ago. Esme also uses weaponized incompetence to get her way and Esme also has no life outside of Ace and she also knows that Ace is the only reason that people tolerate her and that's why Esme brings up Ace every chance she gets when she speaks to anyone.

Don’t like Spencer dropping everything for Ace. He told Trina, when she was worried about Curtis and Portia, that they’d be a phone call away. He could have called Alexis to let her know. She could have handled things for a few days. I guess they just wanted Trina to be surprised. Thing is, it doesn’t prove anything. They’re only going bc Ace was okay. Until Spencer puts Trina before Ace, she’ll always be disappointed.

Today if there was the best friend award for the week I will give it to Joss she has come through like the way a friend should be. I was happy she didn't go all spencer sucks for choosing ace over u trina she was even understanding of spencer and being the BFF to trina. Hope gh continues with this joss this one I will keep. I thought this was going to be an opportunity for Spencer to actively choose Trina over Ace and Esme so I was a bit disappointed. I’m happy they’re still going but honestly could have done without this scene we’ve seen it all summer didn’t need the reminder that Esme and Ace will cause interruptions where they can. Should have just been Spencer picking Trina up to head to the airport 😂

I will concede that Avery Pohl (Esme) is a terrific little actress, and I can understand why GH would want to keep her. However, this storyline was dead on arrival. I realize that Soaps have to create drama, but having Esme be a constant thorn in Sprina's side was a dumb idea! The worst part is that to my recollection, no paternity test was ever even done to prove that Nicholas is Ace's father. It's no telling who the father of that baby is. I put nothing past Ryan & Esme. Spencer's heart will be shattered in a million pieces if it turns out the whole thing is a lie. Fortunately, Trina will be there to help pick up the pieces.
She actress ain’t all that please. They flipped her character and all Esme comes across on screen is annoying and I don’t believe that’s what they writers are going for. Playing a villIan is very easy.

All these newcomers who don’t realize they’re watching a soap opera, where logic is only to serve whatever plot the writers want. So yes, for chicken pox. Yes, it’s a fake, dumb obstacle to draw out the drama and heighten our anxiety until they get to NYC, where they serve us a big platter of cheesy, awesome romance. It’s a soap opera, not Netflix. I know yall hyperfixated on NAC, but lower your expectations if you expect to halfway enjoy these scenes. They are great because the couple we’re watching has 🔥 chemistry, so maybe focus on that haha
This was unnecessary, and I know that “angst” is a hallmark of this couple, but every time they pull one of these stunts it’s just foreshadowing for the eventual hurdle that they cannot overcome. Ace is more important to Spencer than his relationship with Trina, and eventually she’s going to have to choose herself and her happiness over the Ace and Esme package deal that comes along with Spencer.. It’s inevitable.
The “drama” today was pointless. The only person I feel sorry for is Avery Pohl. What a fruitless endeavor at this point. Either give Esme her memory back, actually have this version of her start actively scheming or send her away!! LOVED: Joss being a supportive friend. Especially hearing her support Trina without tearing down Spencer. LOVED: The joy Spencer and Trina expressed at the end when they realized the trip was a GO! Looking forward to the rest of the week 😊
Send her away, do not feel sorry for her, she knew what the hell she was doing. Spencer has been good to her son and maybe his brother. If a person doesn't love you, do not lower yourself by chasing after them. Spencer loves Trina and he loves Ace, be happy for him. She messed up and stopped trying to punish Trina and Spencer. This story is old with Esme, many fans can see it, move her away from Trina's orbit.
You know what that's what I said about Avery playing Esme and this whole she has Amnesia storyline. I don't want her to really interfere and Trina and Spencers relationship but if she's going to be a villain let her be a villain. This is becoming annoying and a slow-burn of from what really is going to come with her either she was faking it or getting her memory back but it's taking too long
I suppose a parent wouldn’t leave their child to go away for a weekend if that child may have chicken pox and if Spencer considers himself Ace’s father he wouldn’t just leave him to go away with Trina. Question is can Trina truly handle always being second? Especially since Ace comes ‘tied’ to Esme. The only way to stop this perverse experiment is for Nicholas to take his kid back or for cute little Ace to join the great beyond.
The man is rich. He could hire a private nurse or even a doctor if needed. It's not a fatal disease. His aunt could have helped. Just another tiring unnecessary obstacle.
Gh really needs to give up on the esme and ace obstacle it’s been two years of this same storyline and it’s so boring. In reality esme should not be in the same storyline with the same characters that she was two years ago when she first came on. The writers were playing today with contrived angst but I think the “Ace may have been exposed to chickenpox, oh help” plot point did serve two purposes. 1. Joss did say to Trina that she doesn’t always have to see the bright side of things and she can be angry. (This is a good thing! Remember this, Trina!) 2. It showed Spencer is truly damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t. It’s been well-established he’ll do anything for his brother, and today we see that it’s even at the expense of his own happiness. (The man looked like his heart had been ripped out when he had to cancel.) That doesn’t mean he loves Trina any less. But then what if he told Esme “peace, I’m out” then headed off on his trip anyway? He’d get dragged for being irresponsible and selfish (even though Esme’s supposedly capable and Alexis is backup). You know Esme would’ve run to the hospital if Ace so much as sneezed and Portia would hear all about it. It was an annoyance today, but there’s purpose to it. Point is, our Sprina is outta there!!! 🗽🕊️🕊️❤️
I think I can speak for everyone when I say nobody would’ve blamed Spencer if Ace really had chickenpox and he still decided to leave for New York. Esme is a single mom (heavy on the single part). She is more than capable of taking care of her son if ppl would fall back and let her handle her responsibilities. She’s gotten way too comfortable relying on Spencer like he’s her baby daddy.
You are so right, I was disappointed when Spencer told Trina he had to cancel their trip because of Ace, but when that persistent knock on the door came and Spencer had found out Ace was ok, he made things happen, my heart felt like it flew out of my chest when Trina jumped into his arms, I forgot everything else except Sprina was going to NYC, Portia, nor Esme could bring me down from my cloud ☁️ nine today, I am revelling in my joy of the outcome of today's craziness 🤗

Evil Esme freaking testing Spencer to see what's possible when it comes to her using Ace to interfere with Sprina. Spencer looked so depressed at the thought of not going to New York with Trina. For now, I want to concentrate my attention on every little detail of Sprina's trip to New York. However, when Sprina is back to Port Charles, I want Spencer to investigate what was really behind these messages that evil Esme claimed to have gotten about Ace. I don't know when it's going to seep into the permanent writers thick skull that no one is buying the evil Esme fake amnesia story. Give it up already...it is not working. You are waisting the fans time and energy when you insist on the same old tactics of using evil Esme to interrupt the progression of Sprina's relationship. At this point it has become lame, boringly repetitive and a total nuisance with absolutely no creative contribution to the show. If the writers cared to look at their actors and how the same old storylines are negatively impacting them, they should look no further than Spencer/NAC and the difference between when he is acting opposite Trina versus evil Esme. If they took the time to look, they would see the unmistakable lackluster expression that mars Spencer/NAC's handsome face during those repeated scenes full of interruptions... versus the animated, lit-up, playful, romantic and absolutely genuine full-body excitement that we are seeing now. A naturally gifted actor like NAC needs to have a storyline that challenges him and brings out his range. When Tabyana and NAC are acting opposite each other, they are fully believable as a couple and they compliment each other's acting beautifully. They have mastered the art of arguing with each other, and they draw you in and make you feel like you are looking at the real mccoy...a real couple in love. They kind of remind me of the couple who can finish each other's sentences because they are so in tune with each other...that is chemistry and genuine talent that cannot be purchased. You either got it or you don't. Trina and Spencer got it in droves. Let's stop waisting these two actors talent by putting them in a triangle storyline with evil Esme. We all know that evil Esme is a freaking villain, and that has been her best role thus far. Putting her in the docile image of a mother taking care of Ace and acting like she is a reincarnation of some version of Mother Theresa is beyond far fetched. Even mommy dearest is fairly passive in comparaison to evil Esme's psychopathic ways. I would have more respect for the writers if they would just unleash the devil and let her do what she does best...be a villain psychopath. The current packaging of evil Esme is not selling, even if you were to give us a 90% percent discount. She is who she is, so stop trying to change what cannot be changed. Trina came over and brought snacks and Ace was crying, now I think about it, he saw Trina and wanted her to hold him. Trina said maybe give him something and Esme said I do not need advice from either of you, to take care of my baby. She has forgotten..

I liked the beginning and I liked the ending a lot. Seeing Trina and Spencer excited to go on a trip together was a great change of pace… This baby as an obstacle is ridiculous. It’s not sometimes. It’s every time….Do I blame him for wanting to stay with his sick brother? No. But WHY is there always a problem? The show would’ve gained some good will with fans by just letting us have a good time without issues. Even temporary ones….It’s why when they give us good things, it’s still hard to trust it. They burned any trust with the audience this summer. And that’s of their own making. I will say. Joss was a really good friend here. Trina is always quick to put on a happy face, even when she has every right to be upset. Good job on joss telling her to embrace that…It was also nice to see Spencer rush to get Trina. It’s important that we saw his disappointment today as well.

What I saw was an attempt at a blink and you miss it “will they make it” moment…and with any other couple, it might’ve not landed so hard. But bc Sprina has just been through months of sadness, it didn’t have that effect. It actually had the opposite. It just highlighted the things we don’t like about the story. Like Spencer playing daddy to his brother and esme using her kid to control him. What I appreciate was how upset Spencer looked upset tell Trina about it. I also liked that Trina admitted to Joss that even though she understands, she’s still pissed. And of course the ending was really beautiful to see…GH needs to lean more into that. Because the dorm scenes from last week let me know that they can make a conversation as mundane as a school paper interesting. And that didn’t involve baby talk or family talk.
Todays episode really annoyed me. Why everytime Spencer takes an important call or he’s talking to someone Esme is literally creeping in the background listening in? She don’t need to be privy to who he speaks to, where he goes, who he dates, and how he moves. Esme needs her own man, her own friends, her own LIFE. Free Spencer from this BS.

Unnecessary angst today. The whole Spencer choosing Ace over Trina argument is hyperbole imo. Trina is not in danger, nor is she sick, nor is she in a situation where she needs him and he chose to go be with Ace. Furthermore, Spencer is NOT the biological father of Ace but Spencer said he considers himself as his parent/guardian (whether we like it or not) because their real daddy up and left both of them. I dunno any parent/guardian who’d leave a potentially sick baby and if I’m honest I wouldn’t have left my sick baby sibling either, I’d feel guilty the whole trip. Anywho, glad that that filler episode is over and we can get to the real fun coming up tomorrow! The last scene was so cute though ❤
I had always enjoyed the friendship between Trina and Joss, but these latest scenes with them have been great! They and the writers have really been knocking it out of the park lately! 🤗

Esme just took Ace to the doctor that morning I'm calling her out on the BS. Will the father of Esme's Ace in the hole please stand up. The whole chicken pox story was so stupid. Whether Spencer was going anywhere or not there's a question that needs to be asked how is that the baby that may have had the chicken pox been able to still go to daycare with the off chance of infecting a daycare full of other babies? That baby should have stayed home and Spencer did ask Alexis to watch over Esme and Ace , so he should have called her and asked her to come and stay with them for awhile. Spencer didn't need to cancel with Trina and make her get her hopes up for a trip that may not happen. There's something I don't get how is it that from the beginning Esme wanted to be independant and wanted nothing to do with Spencer and now she can't do anything without him? That's funny. If Esme really did change then they would have made her handle the situation on her own , leaned on Alexis , and go to hospital if neccessary. As usual they made her incompetent and dependant on Spencer; they made her get a job so she could earn money and eventually live on her own , but she can't handle a fever and spots? I still feel like she lied about the whole thing to just try and keep Spencer from going away with Trina. If I was Spencer when I return from my trip I would call the daycare and find out if there was a potential outbreak of poison oak or was Esme lying about everything? If Trina had packed earlier instead of the last minute then she wouldn't have been this nervous. She's so excited that she forgot that she packed shoes that she thought she didn't pack.

This was a test for esme and spencer completely failed it. It like proved her point in that spencer will drop everything for ace (this includes her because she is his mother). Like this will give her motivation to try and take the next step in getting spencer or believing that she could get Spencer.

Keep in mind that the writers were working overtime as well to stockpile scripts in preparation for the writer's strike. I think that contributed to the jankiness this summer as well.
So did they hire Sprina fans to write in the interim? The show is loads better during the strike. I hope they realize this now that the regular writers are returning. When Nick emerges (I think he’ll be the mystery buyer for Spoon Island and will reveal himself at the closing after all the paperwork is signed) Esme will get her memory back. Also that way she can’t testify against him bc they’re married and he’ll help her keep the baby away from Spencer. I know folks have speculated that Spencer will marry Esme to keep Ace from Nick but I can see other scenarios playing out. Remember Spencer still has the alleged fake evidence and Heather alluded to the fact that Esme killed her parents. Portia will be wrapped up heavy in this some way , shape or form, her actions are gonna cause Trina to be in danger. Since the core writers will be coming back, I hope they continue to move story lines (all of them) at the steady pace the replacement writers have. I don’t want to wait 5 years for Esme to get her memory back 😒 By that time I won’t even care lol.

The original writers like Esme/Avery. The scab writers have moved Spencer and Trina forward and understand the idea of pacing because I am sure that Sonny's storyline, where he was going to jail, would have been dragged out and not dropped for example.

Esme is the one who has no life or friends or interests outside of Ace and she has been written into a corner and there was no effort to get Esme out of this storyline or away from the Cassadine family.

I think the looming threat of the strike caused a lot of issues in the pacing of the script at the beginning of summer. Like they were trying to drag storylines out as much as possible so that the temp writers wouldn’t be able to make too many changes to the stories the way the original crew wanted to tell it.

A fever and itchiness is literally all that is and if Esme can't take care of her own child over a common rash that every kid eventually gets, then you need to get her a nanny and some more parenting classes. Canceling over something like this was so ridiculous and disrespectful of Trina's time and energy. And Esme needs to get a damn grip. Everything that goes on with Ace is not the end of a world. Kids get sick, they get chicken pox, they get fevers and sometimes injuries from playing hard too. I love that it worked out in the end; but, I am really tired of the writers making it seem as if Trina's plans revolve around Spencer. I need the writers to make Trina a little more independent where she will make and follow through on alternative plans when Spencer cancels on her. This scene reinforced my original point that the powers that be gave up on Esme and her character development months ago. Esme also uses weaponized incompetence to get her way and Esme also has no life outside of Ace and she also knows that Ace is the only reason that people tolerate her and that's why Esme brings up Ace every chance she gets when she speaks to anyone.

I will concede that Avery Pohl (Esme) is a terrific little actress, and I can understand why GH would want to keep her. However, this storyline was dead on arrival. I realize that Soaps have to create drama, but having Esme be a constant thorn in Sprina's side was a dumb idea!
The worst part is that to my recollection, no paternity test was ever even done to prove that Nicholas is Ace's father. It's no telling who the father of that baby is. I put nothing past Ryan & Esme. Spencer's heart will be shattered in a million pieces if it turns out the whole thing is a lie. Fortunately, Trina will be there to help pick up the pieces.

Yes, it’s a fake, dumb obstacle to draw out the drama and heighten our anxiety until they get to NYC, where they serve us a big platter of cheesy, awesome romance. It’s a soap opera, not Netflix. I know yall hyperfixated on NAC, but lower your expectations if you expect to halfway enjoy these scenes. They are great because the couple we’re watching has 🔥 chemistry, so maybe focus on that haha

This was unnecessary, and I know that “angst” is a hallmark of this couple, but every time they pull one of these stunts it’s just foreshadowing for the eventual hurdle that they cannot overcome. Ace is more important to Spencer than his relationship with Trina, and eventually she’s going to have to choose herself and her happiness over the Ace and Esme package deal that comes along with Spencer.. It’s inevitable.
The “drama” today was pointless. The only person I feel sorry for is Avery Pohl. What a fruitless endeavor at this point. Either give Esme her memory back, actually have this version of her start actively scheming or send her away!! LOVED: Joss being a supportive friend. Especially hearing her support Trina without tearing down Spencer. LOVED: The joy Spencer and Trina expressed at the end when they realized the trip was a GO!

You know what that's what I said about Avery playing Esme and this whole she has Amnesia storyline. I don't want her to really interfere and Trina and Spencers relationship but if she's going to be a villain let her be a villain. I suppose a parent wouldn’t leave their child to go away for a weekend if that child may have chicken pox and if Spencer considers himself Ace’s father he wouldn’t just leave him to go away with Trina. The writers were playing today with contrived angst but I think the “Ace may have been exposed to chickenpox, oh help” plot point did serve two purposes. 1. Joss did say to Trina that she doesn’t always have to see the bright side of things and she can be angry. (This is a good thing! Remember this, Trina!) 2. It showed Spencer is truly damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t. It’s been well-established he’ll do anything for his brother, and today we see that it’s even at the expense of his own happiness. (The man looked like his heart had been ripped out when he had to cancel.) That doesn’t mean he loves Trina any less. But then what if he told Esme “peace, I’m out” then headed off on his trip anyway? He’d get dragged for being irresponsible and selfish (even though Esme’s supposedly capable and Alexis is backup). You know Esme would’ve run to the hospital if Ace so much as sneezed and Portia would hear all about it.

I think I can speak for everyone when I say nobody would’ve blamed Spencer if Ace really had chickenpox and he still decided to leave for New York. Esme is a single mom (heavy on the single part). She is more than capable of taking care of her son if ppl would fall back and let her handle her responsibilities. She’s gotten way too comfortable relying on Spencer like he’s her baby daddy.
You are so right, I was disappointed when Spencer told Trina he had to cancel their trip because of Ace, but when that persistent knock on the door came and Spencer had found out Ace was ok, he made things happen, my heart felt like it flew out of my chest when Trina jumped into his arms, I forgot everything else except Sprina was going to NYC, Portia, nor Esme could bring me down from my cloud ☁️ nine today, I am revelling in my joy of the outcome of today's craziness 🤗

I’m just saying if he decided to leave for NYC and Ace did get sick that those who don’t want to see the good in him (Portia in particular) would have used that decision to get further into his head. Evil Esme freaking testing Spencer to see what's possible when it comes to her using Ace to interfere with Sprina. Spencer looked so depressed at the thought of not going to New York with Trina.
For now, I want to concentrate my attention on every little detail of Sprina's trip to New York. However, when Sprina is back to Port Charles, I want Spencer to investigate what was really behind these messages that evil Esme claimed to have gotten about Ace.
I don't know when it's going to seep into the permanent writers thick skull that no one is buying the evil Esme fake amnesia story. Give it up already...it is not working. You are waisting the fans time and energy when you insist on the same old tactics of using evil Esme to interrupt the progression of Sprina's relationship. At this point it has become lame, boringly repetitive and a total nuisance with absolutely no creative contribution to the show.
If the writers cared to look at their actors and how the same old storylines are negatively impacting them, they should look no further than Spencer/NAC and the difference between when he is acting opposite Trina versus evil Esme. If they took the time to look, they would see the unmistakable lackluster expression that mars Spencer/NAC's handsome face during those repeated scenes full of interruptions... versus the animated, lit-up, playful, romantic and absolutely genuine full-body excitement that we are seeing now.
A naturally gifted actor like NAC needs to have a storyline that challenges him and brings out his range. When Tabyana and NAC are acting opposite each other, they are fully believable as a couple and they compliment each other's acting beautifully. They have mastered the art of arguing with each other, and they draw you in and make you feel like you are looking at the real mccoy...a real couple in love. They kind of remind me of the couple who can finish each other's sentences because they are so in tune with each other...that is chemistry and genuine talent that cannot be purchased. You either got it or you don't. Trina and Spencer got it in droves.
Let's stop waisting these two actors talent by putting them in a triangle storyline with evil Esme. We all know that evil Esme is a freaking villain, and that has been her best role thus far. Putting her in the docile image of a mother taking care of Ace and acting like she is a reincarnation of some version of Mother Theresa is beyond far fetched. Even mommy dearest is fairly passive in comparaison to evil Esme's psychopathic ways. I would have more respect for the writers if they would just unleash the devil and let her do what she does best...be a villain psychopath.
The current packaging of evil Esme is not selling, even if you were to give us a 90% percent discount. She is who she is, so stop trying to change what cannot be changed. Being a psychopath is in her DNA, and nothing will change that. So just go with it.

This baby as an obstacle is ridiculous. It’s not sometimes. It’s every time….Do I blame him for wanting to stay with his sick brother? No. But WHY is there always a problem? The show would’ve gained some good will with fans by just letting us have a good time without issues. Even temporary ones….It’s why when they give us good things, it’s still hard to trust it. They burned any trust with the audience this summer. And that’s of their own making.
I will say. Joss was a really good friend here. Trina is always quick to put on a happy face, even when she has every right to be upset. Good job on joss telling her to embrace that…It was also nice to see Spencer rush to get Trina. It’s important that we saw his disappointment today as well.

What I saw was an attempt at a blink and you miss it “will they make it” moment…and with any other couple, it might’ve not landed so hard. But bc Sprina has just been through months of sadness, it didn’t have that effect. It actually had the opposite. It just highlighted the things we don’t like about the story. Like Spencer playing daddy to his brother and esme using her kid to control him.
What I appreciate was how upset Spencer looked upset tell Trina about it. I also liked that Trina admitted to Joss that even though she understands, she’s still pissed. And of course the ending was really beautiful to see…GH needs to lean more into that. Because the dorm scenes from last week let me know that they can make a conversation as mundane as a school paper interesting. And that didn’t involve baby talk or family talk.
Todays episode really annoyed me. Why everytime Spencer takes an important call or he’s talking to someone Esme is literally creeping in the background listening in? She don’t need to be privy to who he speaks to, where he goes, who he dates, and how he moves. Esme needs her own man, her own friends, her own LIFE. Free Spencer from this BS.

Trina is not in danger, nor is she sick, nor is she in a situation where she needs him and he chose to go be with Ace. Furthermore, Spencer is NOT the biological father of Ace but Spencer said he considers himself as his parent/guardian (whether we like it or not) because their real daddy up and left both of them.
I dunno any parent/guardian who’d leave a potentially sick baby and if I’m honest I wouldn’t have left my sick baby sibling either, I’d feel guilty the whole trip.

The whole chicken pox story was so stupid. Whether Spencer was going anywhere or not there's a question that needs to be asked how is that the baby that may have had the chicken pox been able to still go to daycare with the off chance of infecting a daycare full of other babies? That baby should have stayed home and Spencer did ask Alexis to watch over Esme and Ace , so he should have called her and asked her to come and stay with them for awhile. Spencer didn't need to cancel with Trina and make her get her hopes up for a trip that may not happen. There's something I don't get how is it that from the beginning Esme wanted to be independant and wanted nothing to do with Spencer and now she can't do anything without him? That's funny. If Esme really did change then they would have made her handle the situation on her own , leaned on Alexis , and go to hospital if neccessary. As usual they made her incompetent and dependant on Spencer; they made her get a job so she could earn money and eventually live on her own , but she can't handle a fever and spots? When Nick emerges (I think he’ll be the mystery buyer for Spoon Island and will reveal himself at the closing after all the paperwork is signed) Esme will get her memory back. I think she’ll remember wanting to get revenge on Spencer and will actually marry Nick to keep him away from ace. Also that way she can’t testify against him bc they’re married and he’ll help her keep the baby away from Spencer. I know folks have speculated that Spencer will marry Esme to keep Ace from Nick but I can see other scenarios playing out. Remember Spencer still has the alleged fake evidence and Heather alluded to the fact that Esme killed her parents. Portia will be wrapped up heavy in this some way , shape or form, her actions are gonna cause Trina to be in danger.
Since the core writers will be coming back, I hope they continue to move story lines (all of them) at the steady pace the replacement writers have. I don’t want to wait 5 years for Esme to get her memory back 😒 By that time I won’t even care lol.

As much as Chris and Dan's writing frustrates me. I'm glad the scab writers are gone. Something is telling me the scab writers wanted to put Spencer and Esme together which Im not here for at all.
The original writers like Esme/Avery. The scab writers have moved Spencer and Trina forward and understand the idea of pacing because I am sure that Sonny's storyline, where he was going to jail, would have been dragged out and not dropped for example.
