Thousands of Ford F-150s are sitting on lots in metro Detroit. What's the issue?

- Ford Motor Company has hit a bump in the road with its number one selling truck, the F-150. Across metro Detroit, there are thousands of 2024 F-150s waiting to be shipped to dealers. Seeing stockpiled vehicles was a common sight during the pandemic because of the microchip shortage. This time, Ford tells me it's not a chip shortage. Instead, they say it's a quality control issue. Issues like F-150 owner Jamie Drnest had.
Garbage quality, yet they still want to charge us $75-100k for these. No thank you!
Blunt and factual. Unlike Ford trying to fool it's consumer base for past several decades. ... beard boy in this vid is the epitome of a loyal brand puppet
I don't understand why it's the best selling vehicle in the US. I guess the American consumer doesn't care about quality.
Even fully loaded they aren't worth that much
@dannydaw59 not a whole lot of choice for full-size pickup. Don't say Toyota tundra. Tundra is going through engine failure issues with turbo 6 not to mention earlier turbo issue
In 01 I bought a new f350 4x4 6 speed 7.3t. It was like 28,000. It lasted 17 years with minimal problems. Where is that now????? Less is more slower is faster.
$80,000-$100,000 for a new truck is ridiculous

Your right. No sleep loss from me. These idiots maybe should just charge $1 million or $2 million for a dam truck.
People don't have money. They'd rather hold onto what they already have.
I've seen a Grand Chetokee in my area go for $ 125,000.😮 and a Dodge Truck for $ 126,500 . They can keep those gas hog boat anchors !.
@MasterSumai Was the Grand Cherokee a Trackhawk? It sure is a gas hog, but when you put her in launch mode lookout baby!! The blood in your head goes backward in full launch mode. I owned one.
They are sitting there because they COST TOO MUCH!! These idiots priced themselves right out of the market.
Next comes the layoffs and global depression
And they constantly BREAK DOWN!!
I would argue they are doing this on purpose, to eventually get us out of our cars and into the gov't bus.
Allows them to push the annual 20% off sales price
It's by far the best selling car in the USA so please who buy them clearly don't think that they cost too much.
Went to the bank the other day asking about a 30 year fixed rate loan. The loan officer asked me what kind of home I was buying. Told her I wasn't buying a home, I was thinking about buying a new F'150.....

Dealer are not renewing their floor plans because they all still have full floor plans from 2023.
The dealers can't move these truck because the prices are too damned high and interest rates are through the roof.
The dealers also cannot lower prices because they don't own the trucks.
The floor plan is a loan taken from the bank which they have to pay interest on.
So even incentives from ford to take new floor plans have to out pace the losses from interest payments the dealers are having to pay sitting on this old stock.
Ford makes it's money as soon as they sell the floor plan to the dealer.
No dealers are biting because they know taking more stock will put them under water.
That is why Ford is piling truck in vacant lots.
It’s what they get for being greedy. Raising the prices of their trucks by $20k+ for no reason other than wanting to. Now it’s biting them in the rear.

@@tedlahm5740 That was back before the entire economy operated cashless.
Cash doesn't really exist anymore as the banks have created a system where they are always earning a percentage of every financial transaction.
As such, no modern business operates off of capitol.
They all only use capitol as a value number they can use to back loans increasing the amount they can loan from the banks to operate.
The more they can loan, the more they can buy, but income still has to out pace interest rate fees.
If the dealers are not moving these trucks then they have no income to pay the fees.
Therefore, taking more loans to add more inventory is suicide.
Hence, the refusal of dealers to take more stock.
You’re pretty much spot on, my local dealer has a lot full of 23’s they can’t sell.

And expensive gas
Quality is the least of problems
Interest rates aren't "too high" they are at historical averages - 17 years of the Fed's ZIRP has distorted people's idea of what "normal" is as well as fueling the high rates of inflation that we are experiencing.
@@Christoph-sd3ziOut of control government spending and printing more money is fueling the inflation, not interest rates. Pick up an economics book.
Video is about Ford quality problem, but you bring up interest rate for no reason
Well if it doesn't run you'll save on gas!
@@Christoph-sd3zi ah the Biden voter doesn't understand anything. Shocking
They'll all sell, as soon as they lower the prices back to normal. All the shortages and issues that caused scarcity and prices to climb are over and done with, the dealers are just greedy.
They will scrap them before they cut the prices
Still gonna be high Interest rates and insurance costs even if each truck reduces by $20k
It's not just ford it's almost every car company...prices have gone up, quality has gone down, fuel mileage hasn't gained much in 5 years, interest rates are out of control, dealers are using their typical slimy markups and added garbage fees and everything else, and to top it off- all the suckers who way over-paid for vehicles in the last 3 years, I'm assuming, are in short supply now- having recently gotten their fill of being fleeced by a slimy dealer on a new vehicle. Add that to the terrible economy in general and you pretty much have the perfect storm for what is going to happen in the next year. Prices will crash because these billion dollar corporations are not simply going to accept a year of no sales- and neither are their shareholders. They know that they are going to have to start shoving this crap out the door at any cost or their stock prices (and subsequent cash hoards) are going to crash. And the longer they put off the inevitable the better it is for those of us who waited. They're making more every day and adding to the supply...day after day after day. There are select vehicles that still are in short supply and high demand (Toyota hybrids) but it will bring the price of those down too when you can go buy anything else for wayyyy less.
Need to change the robots -- ( who is programming them incorrectly) --& get men to make them like they used too in the early 40-60.

Sure, Ford has major quality issues, but what they FAIL to realize is that people just can't swing a $1000 car payment on a $80-$100k pickup truck, so they sit. And sit, and sit. And it's NOT just Ford. Dodge and Jeeps dealers have massive inventories on hand also. Hmmmm, perhaps they'll finally realize that ridiculous asking prices on these vehicles is a MAJOR concern right now...
Jeep Wranglers are $70K now - wtf?!
American car companies have been having quality issues for too long not just now.
Ford Pinto anyone? Chevy Vega? That's how far back the quality issues go

EPA bull caused it.
I agree FORD products are outstanding vehicles. I've been a FORD GUY my entire life and will never buy anything else but FORD. EVERY ONE give them a chance to fix the issue. They are big enough to admit to it.❤❤❤😊
These trucks sit why? Who can afford $100K for a truck that’s worth maybe half of that.
A friend of mine works for a supplier, and told me, it's headlight wiring. New design for 24, and they overheat. They all need the harness replaced.
Ford has had headlight switch overheating and burning out since 1990 had a super duty rollback with idi 7.3 switches burning out all the time Fords wiring has sucked for over 40 years
My Lincoln tow car had headlight switch electrical problem. Replaced 2X same piece of shit .
They are making loyal ICE buyers pay for their failed EV program 🤬
Exactly! They are trying to recoup their EV losses through their ICE offerings.
Just bumper to bumper warranty it for 5 years. Like they used to way back when. And no tricks or deductibles. But I suspect prices are too damn high is the real reason.
My 1985 Toyota pickup along with my 2002 Silverado is going strong. No rust, no mechanical issues and both have the original paint! No desire to ever get one of the new and overly complex pickups.
When cutting costs quality is the first to go.
Our local dealer STILL has some 2022's. Then all the unsold 2023's.They are piling up.
$100K pickup trucks that should cost $40K that no one will buy at 8% interest.
I'm told Ford paid Parts Galore in Flat Rock more to store new vehicles than it was worth to resume the pull your own parts salvage vehicle business. Farley seems more like a clown running Ford into the ground.
