Thank you. I have been trying to reset the maintenance warning on my 2023 renegade as well. You are the first person I have found that actually shows how to reset it.
Thank you for the video. My neighbor lady has this same model with the same screen. I called the dealer to ask them how to do it and they did not know since they hook up their laptop and reset it that way. I sent my neighbor the video she text me and said it worked. So thank you again for The tip.
Glad it was helpful! I like the fact that BRP has made the process so much easier compared to older models, but it would be REALLY nice if their owners manuals were laid out better.
Thanks. Now it is in eco mode. Have to figure out how and what that is. Sent mine back to the shop 6 times in the first 8 months the gas gauge was incorrect they said it could read 2 or 3 bars above or below true reading. Finally gave up
I have a 2021 maverick x3 with the big display. Light came on and won’t turn off. Manual says to go to maintenance reset in menu but the menu doesn’t exist. Took it to the dealer and they said there’s no way to turn it off and they are waiting on Canam to put out an ECU update to fix the problem.
Interesting, thanks for sharing. We haven't had that issue with either of our defenders (yet), but I'll keep an eye on that and let our local dealer know just in case. The BRP supply chain is still really screwed up...lots of parts are backordered with no ETA (we have an outlander that's been down for 2 months, waiting on a front shock). Helixes, clutch rebuild parts, primary bearings etc have been taking weeks to get to me. I'm probably going to switch over to EPI clutch parts just because they are so much easier to get and suit our terrain better than OEM...but I sure wish that BRP would get caught up. Hopefully they have an ECU fix for you soon - typically it's just a firmware update that they send to the dealers, and they can just re-flash the ECU without pulling it.
I’ve got a 2016 Can Am defender ( model 8EHD), it says maintenance required but the only button is a magnetic button on the right. But it doesn’t do anything when I press it. How do I fix it?
I think the older machines require the goofy headlight trick I was talking about in the beginning of the video - check this video out and see if that works for you. Keep in mind you have to do everything correctly and very quickly...like 2-3 seconds for it to work. th-cam.com/video/3Tqroa9MPFA/w-d-xo.html
You can't check codes on the display to the best of my knowledge. You need to have the BUDS software from BRP, which is only given to dealers. There may be aftermarket scanners that would work, but I've never messed with any of that.
You need the BUDDS software from BRP to gain access to diagnostic functions, unfortunately. There may be a workaround but if there is, I haven't heard of it.

Works on a 2023 Can Am Maverick trail also. Thanks for the tip!
Thanks. This is obviously a sneaky n clever way by Canam to get you to get your machine into the service dept. $$$
Good tip!
They don't make it easy so their dealers make more money in service. Get owners to bring in the unit for service on a regular basis.
Thanks
This worked for a 2021 1000 Xxc Renegade without playing with the headlight switch.
Thank you for the help. Worked like a charm
Thank You! I have a 2020 XMR with 7 inch screen. I was trying the light switch method and it was exactly as you showed! Much appreciation!

Thanks for the quick tutorial. Much appreciated.
Thank you so much for this video. I have searched high and low to figure out how to reset my maverick sport maintenance required light
Worked on a 2020 Maverick trail 800 as well. Thanks!
Oh man Thank you!!!! I have chased my tail trying to figure this out!!!
Glad it was helpful! I'll never understand why Can Am had to make something so inherently simple so flipping hard to figure out!
Thank you. I tried all the other BS light on off and nothing cleared. After watching yours, Bingo. Thanks for the tip. Much appreciated!
Thanks! Worked perfectly on my 2020 850 Max XT. Now if I could get my 2020 570 Max DPS to reset that would be great.
Thank you I was really looking for this for my maverick sport can’t find nothing for non x3 machines I hate that thank you
Thanks for this video it’s greatly appreciated!!!!

The 2021 models don't have buttons on the dash at the speedometer. Any suggestions?
Any idea on how to check the codes on the newer models?

@@AllThingsMech I don’t have the same screen as that model, I don’t have the buttons at the top.
Dose this work for can am xmr outlander
How do you check cel codes with this 4.5 display?

@AllThingsMech you can on the bigger display. Thought there would be way on the small one
