Although I did like this death battle and I felt that Kenobi was going to win, I still wish that they would’ve scaled Kakashi to his maximum so that even if he did still lose, he would at least still lose with his maximum potential displayed with additions like the Kamui Shuriken and most notably his aquiry of the Susanno after receiving Obito’s other eye which gives him better control and power to his visual prowess of the Sharingan
The later were temporay upgrades for a single fight. He did not keep them nor could rely on them later. He gave the eye back after all.

And if he gave it back why does he have it I this death battle and if they are using boruto kakashi why weren't his Feats scaled up?
@@sueoshea2131 he uses the chaos emeralds all the time. They are part of his main arsenol at this point. Also he still lost in the more accurate version. Obito only did it for that one fight. As for boruto you mean where hes in an old folks home most of the time. And there isnt much to show him fight as hokagi or post naruto at all unless its in the anime, unfortuantly. Ive read the manga is what Im saying.
@@gregcourtney751 No star wars character would survive in the "Naruto" anime world. Darth Vader wouldn't last long against Madara. So this death-battel is not accurate.
@@kobibrown8519 eh the thing about naruto is that everyone is constantly running out of magic energy. Kakashi especially seemed to be low on energy after a few attacks. Hes cool but yeah he really did struggle a lot. Wheras the force is limitless mostly. So yeah they vould last there. Also madara is not a good example seeing as very few characters are as close as powerfull. As contrrast I wouldnt say naruto characters have no chance in star wars because they dont compare jacen solo at his peak. Hell boruto, the manga, recently weakened naurto and sasuke by a lot.

I'm not even necessarily contesting the end results of the battle, I just don't like the reasoning for it...they literally say Obi-Wan could "theoretically" pull of certain feats, without actually knowing or proving if he can or not; meanwhile, they deny Kakashi some of his most powerful abilities that we know he is capable of doing, it just seems a little convenient. They also ignore that Kakashi has experience fighting characters with Force-like abilities (the Naruto villain Pain uses a push-pull technique very similar to Force Push/Force Pull). While it wouldn't guarantee him winning, I feel like it's important enough to consider in the calculations. And they've snuffed Naruto characters in this way before too, a la Gaara vs Toph. It's just a little annoying.

Sounds like you are new to deathbattle. Taking stuff into accoung that figters could "Theoretically" do is a thing they do every other fight.
Saying Stuff Like: "The friend of fighter A is fast enough to outrun a bullet and Fighter A could fight his Friend on equal footing ,therefore Fighter A must also be fast enough to outrun a bullet." is what they pretty much always do. (in this scenario they totally forgetting that speed is only one factor in a fight, and there are other things that even the battle)

This is something I do hate about Death Battle: they don't always take nuance into account. Just because two characters are similar in power doesn't mean that they can pull of the same feats due to difference in focus and application. Some Jedi and Sith are really good in telekinesis while others are not. Some are better at telepathy or farsight. Some are way better lightsaber duelists.
You can have two force users who are around the same level in raw power but due to how their skillset is configured are way different in combat effectiveness.
This is called "power scaling", and Death Battle is notorious for it. If the person fighting has fought someone in the past who was capable of a feat, they attribute that feat to the fighter in the Death Battle too.
What bothered me about this fight is, they used this combination version of ObiWan where they gave him his most powerful form and abilities from all iterations he's ever had, while giving Kakashi one of his weakest versions ever. The point of Death Battle (and the rules of death battle) are to make the character an amalgamation of their most powerful feats in one character, remove their morals (they are willing to kill, i.e. it's a battle to the "death"), and they don't have prep-time or foreknowledge of each other.
Kakashi's most powerful version is dual-Mangekyo Sharingan Kakashi. Yes, it was not a permanent form, he lost it shortly afterwards, but that is STILL the version they should have given him. According to all known rules of Death Battle, DMS Kakashi with Perfect Susano'o and Kamui should have been in this battle.
And if they had done that, the outcome would have been very different. Don't get me wrong - I love Obi-Wan, and Star Wars in general, but I highly doubt he could do much against a being capable of phasing through all attacks, with ranged attacks that can suck you into another dimension, and a gigantic suit of armor made out of pure chakra, that's capable of cutting mountain ranges in half from wind pressure alone (without even making contact with them).
@@Evravon I mean, Death Battle is a power scaling show.
The Force is everywhere and infinite (same as Chakra), but we've seen that its power and length of use depends on the user's skill/talent and stamina in that order. So it's just as limited as Chakra.
The real advantage the Force has is that it's versatile, runs on the speed of thought, can't be sensed or reacted to unless you are also a Force user, and its reach is theoretically infinite, because it's always connected to everything.
Reaction speed aside, the only advantage Kakashi had was his movement speed. Alternatively, he could've just sent Obi-wan to the other dimension and left him there to die.
Now if we go purely with Canon Obi-Wan. Kakashi would've won without even trying, but Death Battle doesn't recognize Canon and Non-Canon. For the purposes of Death Battle, non-canon is just as canon as canon.
They typically accept anything that doesn't directly conflict with the established canon.
So that's not strictly true when it comes to the difference between the Force and Chakra. Chakra is like gas in a car. Once the gas is gone, you're done. There's a hard limit to how much Chakra a person has, and Naruto characters are constantly butting into that limit. One the other hand, the Force is an infinite well of energy, transcending space, time, life, and death. No matter how much you use, it's literally impossible to run out of it. It's more like hooking up a faucet to an ocean. The real limit isn't how much water there is for the faucet to draw water from, but rather how much abuse the faucet can take before it bursts wide open. No matter how beat up a Jedi is, there is always *more* energy they can draw upon, so it's a much softer limit than what Ninja from Naruto has to work with.

Well thought out argument 🙂 the battle in this one was super fun and it’s always great to learn more about the characters. Sometimes Death Battle seems to break their own rules but at the end of the day they are entertainers and not scholars 🤗 especially Boom Stick 😛
Death battle does largely stick to canon, the thing with star wars is that the legends continuity may not be canon technically, but some things in legends could be canon. Like how Abeloth was a servant to the Ones and then the Ones showed up in canon. Also so long as certain things don't conflict with canon they still use it.
Obi-Wan in the expanded universe is WAY stronger than Obi-Wan in the movies.
I think that Kakashi would mop the floor with movie Obi-Wan. In fact, I think the entire cast of every Star Wars movie could go against Kakashi at once and he'd take them out easily. But the expanded universe Jedi masters and Sith Lords are ridiculous.
Not really. The greatest feats are barely planetary.
50% give or take of the entire Naruto series is filler or partial filler, aka non-canon or mixed in non-canon. So what's the problem with this then? They're looking at ALL of their official material, whether it's canon or not. If it was released by the company, then it goes in. Fanfiction is the only thing not being taken into account.

i know right? Kakashi is way more levelheaded and strategic, while jedis pretty much always only go in lightsaber swinging and forceblasting. After half the fight kakashi would have taken a step back and come up with a plan to trick Obi-wan who himself, might be a good teacher, but has never shown any real strategic fighting besides "lets throw stuff at them"

To be honest, this is one of the Death Battles i liked the least as they Practically enforced Obi Wans win!
Like: "oh, we are not Giving Kakashi his Double EMS, since he only had it for a Limited time but we are Giving Obi Wan every feat and Ability he has ever shown, even those that only Appeared once and which are not even Canon anymore"
Don't get me wrong, i'm not even Biased or Anything, i like both Star Wars and Naruto but taking away the Strongest Abilities from one Character, while giving the Other every Ability they ever had, including Non-Canon ones, just seems Biased as Fuck and completely destroys the idea of an Death Battle!
But Itachi you put Kakashi in the hospital for days just by looking at him. Besides Kakashi would get the noodle legs after using just one MS eye. If he uses both without borrowed chakra or life force I’m afraid he’d collapse 😅
I agree deathbattle is dumb for combining feats for everyone (esp comics) but that doesn’t mean kakashi should have two sharingan. Tbh obi wins with just canon feats anyway. The main feats they used to decide Obiwan would win were mostly from the movies anyway except for the old clone wars feat (which can easily be replaced by the CGI feats he did).

Not gonna lie, when I first watched this fight I called bullshit on the outcome. Kakashi has more war experience, for one, he is one of the most cunning ninja in the entire series, not to mention, he is very fast both mentally and physically.
Not to mention he didn't even use his best ability during the fight, Kamui.
If he used that the lightsaber would not have cut him, but simply passed through him.
So Kakashi would have pierced Obi-Wan with the Chidori after having the lightsaber pass through him.
@@starscar3597 Where did you that BS info? The things you said about Obito's left and right eye was never stated during the manga and it was never stated during the anime. Besides Obito technically didn't pass through people or objects, he teleported that part of himself away. After Kakashi fought against Obito in his realm, Obito dipped and became the 10 tails Jinchuriki leaving Kakashi behind. After Kakashi patched himself up he teleported himself out of his realm with Kamui, meaning Kakashi can teleport himself or parts of himself just like Obito.

This wasn't accurate. There's no way Kakashi would lose to Obi-Wan.
Kakashi can transfer Obi-Wan's lightsaber into a different dimension, basically leaving him with nothing but the force. Besides Kakashi's IQ is next level. He joined the Anbu black ops (Special forces) when he was still a child.
Kakashi can also do summoning jutsu, shadow clones, substitution jutsu (replacing your body with an object) and amarterasu (black flames that can not be extinguished).

Can u guys react to some anime openings ? Basically all the animes have opening songs for each arcs. Short animes that have like 25 - 30 episodes have 1 or 2 openings. Long running shows that have 100+ episodes have 10 - 30 openings for each arcs. Hope u guys react to some openings soon .

I still think that kakashi has the edge if you are going by kenobi’s apparent abilities in the films, but if you include novels and comics I guess that they can make kenobi a lot more powerful than he ever appears to be in film.

When you take into account the absurd things Jedi can do and some of the things Obi-wan has done I don't necessarily contest that that Obi-wan could win this fight and declaring him the winner is reasonable and understandable. That said though I do take umbrage with some of their analysis as a lot of the things that attributed to Obi-wan were only assumptions which is not a reasonable basis for argument. As well I don't believe Obi-wan would be able to break free from a Mangekyo genjutsu by himself; that's something that is quite explicitly shown and stated in Naruto requiring someone outside the genjutsu to break the person out of it. Think this fight is much closer than they are making it sound and Kakashi would certainly be capable of winning it.
This one was certainly close and they make better friends than enemies. Sometimes the Death Battles are one sided but this one does feel like it could've gone either way. Like if they fought ten times, it would probably be split 🙂
This is honestly one of the most well directed Death Battles in the shows history imo.
From the Quotes,to the Use of Darth Vader in the Tsukinyomi,to hear the Imperial Starship screams in the background,and my god the music is beautiful to listen to when it combines both themes from both franchises.
And while I sorta thought Kakashi had a chance due to his vast amount of abilities,the fact is the Force really has no limits to what its capable of manipulating as opposed to Nature Based Chakra Attacks in Naruto.
It's why the broad range of Telekinesis is 100000 times better than any individual Nature based Manipulation because Telekinesis can control almost anything.
The battle was indeed one of their best both visually and in the choreography 😀🤩
Hm, okay, i didn’t mind it at first, but now i think this is getting ridiculous, if you two are serious about this whole “getting points for each win you guess right” thing, then isn’t allowing each other to guess on the same character a little counterproductive? i mean regardless if you win or lose, you don’t really get anywhere by doing that.
Of course, i guess i could forgive it, since you do have that whole thing with writing down your choice so that the other doesn’t know,
That is if it just wasn’t for the fact, that you two just end up showing each other’s choice anyway, pretty much rendering the whole “writing your choice down” thing completely pointless.

I can also set up a series of equations and numbers, which then sounds super smart... most Death Battles have a struktueles problem..because that are often characters that, exist in completely different worlds with completely different physics it is super cool to talk about that and i apprichiate there work from a nerds perspective.. It feels like they purposely didn’t use Kakashis strongest form because they knew Kakashi would slam, so they used regular one sharingan Kakashi. DMS Kakashi at the end of the war arc scaled higher than most Uchiha other than sasuke and madara who were the strongest in the show. Kakashi slams badly 🤷🏾♂️
Why did they not use susanoo ? Because he lost it ? Then why did they use his sharingan he lost it too... And why young Obi-wan instead of last old weakened version ? This is so dumb.. 😂
They also used purple raikiri as his ultimate move, but its weaker than regular raikiri because kakashi lost his sharingan.. So many wrong bullshit.
Kakashi could destroy an entire city with susanoo no shot poor Obi-wan could stand a chance..

I honestly didnt think obi wan would win Kakashi showed he could copy techniquees b4 his opponent even started doing the technique, plus he is faster than lightning and has shadow clones that can all do the same, i feel like they downplayed his abilities in this to avoid Star Wars fans raging because their fighter lost.
Chakra is limited to Naruto and not even everyone in that universe has it. That being said genjutsu wouldn't even affect Obiwan. I love Kakashi but he was boomed.

That cringe line.. "After I kick your ass." Kakashi would never say something like that. Plus with DB they always downplay someone's abilities. And it's usually the loser. Why I don't take DB serious anymore. They're clearly bias and some of the match ups they have are clearly one sided and doesn't make sense.
Would you believe me if I told you the fight was done by an sfm animator that consecutively uses a DBZ character and a Muppet for his series and has since gained enough of a following in animation of skits that he's done guest work on multiple death battle episodes?
If yes then yeah DevilArtemis went hard on this. Daitomodachi pitched a lot in on others and that is a man that has made both an amazing but life changing series in how it can tie into the dragon Ball canon. Because it isn't canon. But everyone really kinda doesn't mind thinking it is canon.

Kenobi winning is dumb. Kakashi is superhumanly fast and strong, not to mention he has access to many different jutsu, two Mangekyo Sharingan, a Susano'o, and an entire pocket dimension all to himself. Kenobi has telekinesis and laser sword.
See the analysis? They explain why they didn’t give him Mangekyo Sharingan or Susano’o. Narutards, I swear. They’re all the same.

@@muffetmissulena6540 The problem is that Death Battle itself has long been biased whenever it comes to anime, regardless of the series. They’ve consistently lowballed character feats or been extremely selective when it comes to when/where they take them from - they’ll often pit one character at their absolute strongest against another past their prime. This one is a perfect example of that. Had they been playing by the same rules they would’ve been matching Old Ben against Hokage/post-Hokage Kakashi, when both were past their prime and no longer capable of their best feats.
But they didn’t. They took away Kakashi’s best feats and abilities while de-aging Obi-wan twenty years and taking him at the height of his powers.
This has been a consistent trend with Death Battle and frankly why I stopped watching them years ago. They pick and choose who wins, they no longer do objective analysis and match ups… and frankly I would argue they never did.

The Star Wars Death Battle I most wanna see one day would have to be Darth Vader vs Sephiroth.
Think about it: they're fallen heroes, clad in black, styled after samurai, and are incredibly iconic in cinema and gaming (respectively).
Death Battle knew they messed this one up. Kakashi is way stronger than he's portrayed in this 'death battle.' At both of their peaks, Kakashi would absolutely demolish Obi Wan. Whether in a battle of attrition, brute force, intelligence, or all three.

I could understand if this was Darth Vader considering he is the chosen one and purportedly the strongest force user ever, even previous Jedi Masters and Sith Lords, such as Darth Revan from the extended universe, but Obi-Wan?
You got to be joking, not to downplay Obi-Wan, but he is FAR from the strongest characters in Star Wars, he would certainly put up a hell of a fight, but he should not have won this one considering they scaled up his feats, and even then he still is relatively above-average, what really made him strong was his technique, experience, and subtlety with the force.
His main power with the force laid in his precise control over the very limited amount of force he could apply at any given time, certainly not enough to overwhelm Kakashi considering the monstrous enemies he has gone toe-to-toe with, and the amount of damage he could sustain is incredible, stuff that would break your spine, cough up your organs, or straight up flatten you into squash, he was able to walk off.
The only real danger to Kakashi in this fight would've been the lighsaber, and maybe force mind tricks, depending on how they would theoretically stack-up against the mind control and illusions in the world of Naruto.
Can't wait for Thanos vs Darksied
