I am glad to see that you're up and around. Richard, stay warm and those cold weather. I've always clicked on your videos. To listen to your advice and your work. You are an artist. God be with you and Teresa.
Funny, I don't even do transmissions anymore, and I learn many things from you on the new ones . A lot more complicated than they used to be . lol You guys are gems . :)
I had a 2017 Silverado. Torque converter shutter from day one. The truck was in the dealership 6 times while under warranty. GM refused to replace the transmission. Wish I would’ve had you build me a transmission.
Hey Richard. I just went team red for my home tools. I was team yellow, but they dated back to the 18VDC NiCd era. After my "new" $120 set of batteries lasted 9 months I said "Done, new tool time". Since I was changing battery platform anyway, I also decided Team Red was coming in. I went brushless as well. I just started with the basics for the home, but it will expand into the shop tools (I just don't have a compressor that can handle the air tools). So far, Team Red has been just AMAZING!!
team red as in Bauer ? or team red as in Milwaukee ? there is def a difference . ive been using Milwaukee for years now great stuff real tuff. the only other red i think is snap on but Milwaukee is better and allot more cost-effective
@@ars5029 Milwaukee....I was team Yellow for 20 odd years. It was an old NiCd setup, and I COULD have bought a couple adapters and Li-Ion batteries for them, but I said "No, these are 20+ years old, it is time to just get new". I still have team yellow in my Compound Sliding Miter Saw, 4-Post Planer, and a couple sanders, but my drills, lights, impacts, and such are all going Milwaukee.
I just tore down a 4L60E with a rear planetary that was so bad that every pin had wallowed the housing out. 2 of the pins and 1 gear fell out in my hand. It was a massive mess.
Thank you so very much. You are convincing me that an automatic transmission can be as reliable as a manual...lol... or maybe even better? I have 2 x 1997 Chevrolet C2500 2WD extended cab trucks. They are twins! The better one I've been saving, as there are no newer vehicles in my immediate future...lol.
Hi Richard, you’re so generous with your videos… you’re a really good teacher, thanks. Would you recommend replacing the stock torque converter from 4WD towing package 6L80E with 75000 miles? BTW it’s not primarily use for towing. Thanks, Tony.
Hey Richard was curious on who you use for your seal kits and clutch and steel plate overhaul kits? I couldn’t make out the box you had on the bench if it was a trans star? Or do you recommend a certain brand thank you
I wish I could bring my truck in and have you rebuild my 2011 6L80E. we don't have anyone around here in Longview Texas that's like you. everyone wants to cut corners.
Hey Richard and Teresa! Do you guys see a lot of torque converter shudder from these units? Be it before or after rebuild.. It's the most common issue that I run across!
Hi ricard & Teresa Peter from Aus coming at ya I have a 4l60e in my day drive when I tow my boat and have to go up a average rise in my driveway have to put a fair bit of pedal to get it moving like it takes a bit to grab and move so I try to get a bit of run up I’m going to rebuild soon as it has 280000 km can I fix it to grab earlier any suggestions thanks sir and miss
Have you messed with automatic fire truck trans back in the day ? D - Handle they were called ? Mech's said they couldn't keep them on the road. I think they're about perfected today. Regardless any of the big automatics come through ? Utterly amazing what you do.
What a bummer, a friend just had to have his 2018 Silverado trans rebuilt with only 78,000 miles or so. Someone should be held accountable for that nonsense.
@matttravers5764 well if it was an 8 speed it's not a surprise. They tried to use their crappy Dexron VI in them and it made them slip especially the torque converter clutch.
I’d sure like to know where his transmission shop is because when I get my motor back in my old Dodge my 518 is working OK matter fact it works real good but I want to step up to a 47 Rh so I can have a lock up torque converter if anybody knows where he’s located I sure like toget a hold of him. Thank you.
Just a free tip I'm glad I didn't watch this before I did a swap from 09 tahoe to a 11 avalanche and no you don't have to program mine is working fine tahoe had 140 miles avalanche 422.000 so yea gonna rebuild the one I fried the converter cooked sucked couldn't afford a new billet converter so I know I'm on borrowed time and gonna get hp tuner cause that can fix the pressure issues that cause overheat and converter cooking just hard had 2 major bloodclot surgery still have them hard time working no money sucks can't even afford to hardly eat
Can anybody tell me their contact information question mark I have a 700 R4 with about $4000 worth of cards? Then i've been waiting two years to have richard build
You do tear downs all the time, why don't you show people the exact way to put things together? Proper tear down and rebuild step by step right to the end.
No it's called being a dick. The guy makes enough money off TH-cam. No reason he can't do proper step by step rebuilding. You think suddenly everyone will start rebuilding their transmission?

Love these videos. Praying we'll see a build/assembly video some day 🙏
Never going to happen until people start to un-subscribe.

I did my own 2015 6L80 and it still cost me 2500 in parts. They get expensive really fast.
I've built them before but I don't have a shop anymore thanks to my Divorce and it's really cold here in Texas haha@@jeremymardlin5381

Can you install an after market dip stick?
My truck does not have a dip stick.
Just had to replace mine on a 2019 Yukon XL.

I need a corvette bellhousing. 2012 6L80
Where are you located at
Thats not a drain. Thats the check plug. Similar to the 8l90 and 5r55. Fill on the side plug. Pull the bottom plug when its at operating temp.

What type ATF fluid you recommend in these units
Your best bet is probably Mobile 1 synthetic ATF. It isn't cheap but is very good fluid.
Dex 6 only
I know you don’t like carry outs but if you can build it I won’t bother you 01 Yukon from California
