I'd watched her / them perform 'Only You Can' on a TV music show when I was only 4 or 5, around '74, and it was an instant earworm 😀
Which I remembered for some reason quite a few years later, but the only thing I still had a memory of were the 🎵"Every night, hey-hey"🎵 vocal bits, no artist name or proper song title. And it then also took me quite some time and effort to establish those!
And when I finally heard the song again, for the first time in 45 years, it didn't sound anything like I'd remembered it 😅 But I did like it also _this_ time 'round 😊

She was a bit of a boomerang artist. Noosha Fox came from Sydney and went off to England, and the British sent this back to us as the latest hit single on the British charts. Consequently, it became a very big hit in Australia and was greatly loved by the Countdown crowd.

Thank you so much for doing this, it's always appreciated when you do one of my suggestions. It's a fun song, and a strange singer too. 😄 'Only You Can' is another song by Noosha Fox, real name Susan Traynor. 'Yellow Dog - One More Night' is in a similar vein to this, which is a fun one to react to as well.

I remember seeing this film-clip on TV and thinking she looked unusually familiar for a British singer. More like a Sydney club singer or something a little more local. Lo and behold, turned out she was an Aussie! That wasn't enough to warm my heart to this song. It still drove me nuts at the time. n Teehee ;)

I haven't spoken to Susan Traynor (aka Noosha Fox) in 55 years. I used to see her band, Wooden Horse, play around Sydney. They left for England in the early 70's, and none of us really believed she'd amount to much over there, because a lot of our popular groups often returned from England with their tails between their legs. She was also in her late 20's when she left Australia, which was considered ancient in pop music in those days.
But ''Single Bed'' proved her small crowd of Wooden Horse fans wrong.

@@jaymacgee_A_Bawbag_Blethering What's funny is that Australians commonly ask if RAGE is still on air. The show is on at 2am weeknights, and 12am weekends. Its been on TV since 1987, but a lot of Australians don't watch it.
It's now the oldest music TV show in the world at this point, and the guests on the show range from Judas Priest to Billy Joel to Tiny Tim to Blondie to Sepultura to TH-camr Anthony Fantano (The Needle Drop). The diversity of artists is just amazing. The only problem I find is that every artist chooses the same songs or artists. I've stopped watching a lot of the shows because of the predictability of the playlists, and there's no excuse. RAGE now has Countdown and Sounds (an old show on another network) archives with all their videos. RAGE has a deep archive, but the artists including Sheleen, tend to play the same old stuff. IT does appear diverse if you haven't watched RAGe as often as I have. The only clip I'll keep on this ep. of RAGE is The Supremes' '"Baby Love'' clip. Eveyrthing else I have already seen and have in my collection.

What a brilliant special! They really do know how to hype up an oldie like Countdown.

@@rhonda_hart4982 They're really good at making a special out of shows like this. You can tell they've put a lot of heart into it.

@@rhonda_hart4982 I'm amazed it's allowed on TH-cam. ABC okay with having it up for the public to watch for free?
But it is a very cool documentary. It definitely captures the spirit of the show.

@@OnceWasRStrathfield You and your friend Troy would have loved those days. I'm amazed that your mate has dedicated his life to finding lost Countdown episodes. I just wished a recorded more shows in the 70's, but my family only got a video recorder in 1980.
