Great review, really enjoyed hearing your perspectives. Having tortured myself over whether to buy a Taycan, Panamera or Cayenne and having test driven all of them, I finally went with the Cayenne in hybrid format. Why? Best of everything and value the family space and my license. At a lower entry price, I could spec it up to the eyeballs and here in the UK, the charging infrastructure just isn’t there yet. Range and practicality wins and I pretty much drive electric all the time locally where the limits are mostly below 40mph. Fun button’s there when I want to hammer it. Great car and maybe a Taycan next time.
Loved the video! Is there a possibility you can make a video on advice to becoming an automotive engineer? Just graduated in ME and interested in transitioning into that industry. I think it would be a great video.
Range Anxiety is still a thing in 2021. I would like the hybrid Panamera, please: 455HP and 22/30mpg. I am far away from buying any six figure auto but any modern Porsche would be a treat.
Hey David, the LC300, Tundra, 4Runner are all based on the TNGA-f platform. Can you tell us if the Land cruiser 70 series will be based on the TNGA platform as well? Approximate timetable? Will it be available with automatic transmission? Thank you very much!
Do you mean the old design 70 series? That redesign may never happen, so I don't think it will be completely overhauled and moved onto the TNGA platform.
@@AutomotivePress So, you mean that the LC70 series will not be involved in the TNGA platform revamp and will continue to be sold with the old mechanical design until the end of the product's life. We were informed that Toyota will be resurrecting accessories for the LC40 series, as part of the GR Heritage Parts Project. Why can't the LC70 be modernized while retaining its classic look to create an immortal myth similar to that of the Mercedes-Benz G-Klasse? long question, thank you!
@@AutomotivePress What sad news, the LC70 series has become a myth because of its long history and the Toyota branding, and despite the lack of official Toyota introduction, a staggering number of LC70 series are imported from the Middle East every year through parallel imports. The price is also much higher than the LC200, PRADO, TUNDRA and other modern crossovers. Thanks again for your reply.
Got my Taycan CT a month agao - will never look back. EV is simply THE future, you will realize this after driving it for 15 minutes. The car quickly reminds you that internal combustion engine is a 200+ year old technology....it is about time to move on.
Yet ironically the first car ever debuted was an ev, an even older technology :) Also stop comparing taycan to a corolla and praise to ev gods. Go drive a 911 and see which one is better. If you still like the taycan more, you simply don't like driving, and porsche is not the brand for you.
Panamera. Claiming that electric vehicles are environmentally friendly is a false proposition. The rapidly growing electric vehicle industry in China is a product of political correctness, and it is also the result of being kidnapped by Wall Street capital. President Akio Toyoda also bluntly stated that the Japanese government cannot meet the power burden caused by forcibly promoting the development of electric vehicles in the short term.
It was Great working with you David! Let's do it again.
Absolutely! Thank you for all of your efforts to produce this video.
Thanks for this good review. it helped me a lot to choose my porsche !

I have said exactly the same thing about the Panamera becoming an instant classic
I have have been driving Panamera for 12 year now I am considering Taycan love the sound
Great review. I ended up with a hybrid Panamera 4 which suits my lifestyle with a little of both worlds
I am having trouble deciding between my current 2019 Panamera Turbo and a 2023 Taycan Sport Turismo GTS. Advice welcome. Considering a trade.

That's a great suggestion... let me think about that potential topic

Hi David, How much is gasoline today in BC?
It's getting expensive but it fluctuates daily as you know.
@@AutomotivePress $1.38 in Ontario today

@@Devillers-y9q It comes down to economics... they don't sell enough of the 70 series to make it worthwhile to develop a whole new version

How many miles can you travel before charging the taycan battery
You forgot the looks. Just look at that Taycan. Gorgeous. No comparison. Taycan all the way.
Electric for daily but I would try to have a manual ice vehicle as back up 😜.
in Europe - Taycan. in USA - Panamera. very different gas prices and very different tax schemes between USA and Europe. Sadly those things matter.
These are both beautiful cars, but I am definitely bias towards the Taycan because I love Tesla cars
When you pay under MSRP for a car Does that include Dealers Add on
I always negotiate the MSRP price separately from any add-ons
@@AutomotivePress I really appreciate you you're always helpful and you get back with people That's why I hit the thumbs up for all of your work
Do you have a Facebook page I can follow
I would love to see you design a platinum no Chrome Tundra
@@gearlstrickland3365 Sorry I don't have that setup yet... perhaps I should create one.

Would take the Taycan every Day.
Taycan 💪💪💪
The V8 ...but both vehicles are just toys not practical

Finally an educated comment.
I would prefer the gas engine.
Terrible reasons to stay with fossil fuels I can’t believe a engineer said this Taycan first
They are almost all fossil fueled.
