Another great and entertaining video, Matt. Personally, unless a car looks like a pig in knickers, I'm not that bothered about the exterior design. It's the interior that interests me: I spend a lot more time looking at the interior than the exterior. I've always admired the Panamera, even the early models.

@@HighPeakAutos could you please do something with the audio in your videos? It's terrible. Your voice is mixed with road/ambient noise and it's very hard to understand what you're saying.
You were definitely right to not paint the bonnet. I had the bonnet of my old P38 repainted because the lacquer had started to peel, as I thought that it would massively de-value the car when I sold it. The new paint ended up being so much better than the rest of the paintwork, which was fine ; but the new buyer never saw the value in this expense and still tried to squabble every pound off that he could …. Sound familiar?
I think this is the only model of Porsche where they dropped the ball with the design. Yet years later they took this and made the stunning Taycan which isn't a million miles away in terms of looks but definitely an improvement. Having seen both in the flesh
I bought an early 4.8S with 82k on it about 15 months ago , not because I liked the looks but because it was cheap....I've now done 113k and I absolutely love it. Like you I thought I'd seen better things grazing and will run it until it goes bang as it drives so well...then I'll buy another!
The only Porsche I've ever considered owning. Proper car. I like them. You can keep all the pendulous tarted up beetles which does confirm you can polish the proverbial.
Great video, agree that touching up paint chips is the way in my humble opinion. The pros can do some great repairs on paintwork without respraying these days.
I think you done the right thing by not painting the bonnet, those stone chips show that the car is honest and whoever buys it can get it painted if they wish and it saves you some wonga.
Looks great! A colleague took my for a drive to a consultation the other day. He's had it for 3 years now and he is impressed. I was never a fan, but it impressed me on the 120km drive.
Matthew, thanks for another great video. In terms of the bonnet, I would just get it done properly - you have the two videos and I'm sure many photos to demonstrate that you aren't trying to hide an accident repair...but saying that, it's a very, very cheap panamera, with a few miles on it...so maybe a few war wounds are an honest representation of the car at that age, price and mileage. Whoever gets it I'm sure you'll look after them no matter what. Cheers mate, looking forward to the next video
I love your videos man! Discovered you few months back. My only advice (If it's worth anything) is get a better quality mic, because due to the noise from outside I can sometimes hardly hear you.
I’m considering one. I’ve had Mercedes, Jaguar, BMWs and Lexus and really always wanted a Porsche but because I have an electric wheelchair and don’t want an suv, never considered it, until I saw Doug Demiro’s video and saw how it’s a hatch back with folding rear seats, amazing. Matt you didn’t cover any of that practicality in your video!
Great job, a value for money refurbishment. You're entitled to a decent profiy on this. Thanks for the tip on Prestige Wheels, my Alfa 156 needs them doing.
Another warts and all honest upfront from some one who just treats the car how it should be treated , i had to re-watch the part about you staying in(and under) your budget several times in disbelief... Keep up the good work Matt.
Love my Panamera V6 2011 Hybrid, as you say build quality and interior styling helps to overlook its weird shape but I usually leave the rear spoiler up to break that drooping line at the rear. Happy days.
As a distrusting of dealers / stealers kind of buyer, I'd prefer an original but "touched up" (can I say that?) bonnet, yes the bumper is no doubt stapled together and filled, however the original 'chips' will make it easier to move on when I'm bored of it.
A friend has one of these and I admire it, sounds stunning. Someone else I know is buying a new one, albeit a hybrid. These are not silly people by any means. Tough to beat the pure quality.
Another great vid Matt. I know this is going to sound cheap but what about black nail varnish for the stone chips & a bit of T-cut? They shouldn't look too bad then. All the best......
In Reference the paint quandary , originality is always king for discerning buyers but of course is always the stick they will try to batter the price down with . One answer is to photograph the stonechips before the repair which will satisfy most people if they bring up the issue , alternatively have a set price for both options . I think it depends on the car too ... run of the mill cars its better to just paint and be done with ... special stuff maybe do one the above ? .. one specific car is Lotus , with the problems with osmosis on the glass fibre many buyers are put off by any respraying as it could be covering serious issues rather than just stonechips .
Why not just wrap the bonnet nd bumper? This will hide the stone chips but also make it look fresh and protect front end from any any more stone chips. Lovely car though and those wheels look brand new again. Take care and I look forward to watching your other videos.
I'm curious what the previous owner's occupation was to rack up 142k miles since 2013 in a Panamera...Was it an import/export business perhaps? That's a lot of shuttle runs to Hull and Dover...
9 year old car, assuming 228 business days per year (weekends, public holidays, annual leave deducted from 365). 50 miles per day for 228 days per year for 9 years is 102,600, add another 40K in additional mileage not related to commuting or work. Also if the car was owned by the company, I doubt it would have been sold at retail prices and was probably VAT exempt.
I worked as an investment adviser with clients in several counties and as a courtesy, I would often have meetings at their homes. I averaged 20k business miles a year. Personal weekend and holiday travel was in addition in my old " nearly classic " cars. Mind you, if I had turned up to clients in a Panamera GTS they would have demanded that I reduce my fees! 🙂. I had a little Volvo diesel.
Matt rejected "than a kidnapped schoolgirl" first, for that joke. Sorry, I've been listening to a lot of Gervais & Boyle lately Ricky's quite offensive but Susan tells some shocking sick jokes between songs at her gigs.
Great effort as always, do like the before and after vids! You're certainly an advocate for getting the auto boxes serviced when you do one of these, where do you take them because that price was very reasonable!! Cheers
I'm sure it's a great car to drive. Personally I not mad about the looks, it resembles a stretched out Cayman, plus it would cost a fortune in fuel, road tax, insurance, servicing and repairs. However, if you purchase car like this it's the price you have to pay for luxury I guess. Large vehicles are also a pain driving and parking around town as I have found with my Merc. Thanks for vid BTW.
Should have got it painted. It was there and the paint made up. You have the video to show people why you did it. I love these and the GTurismo version looks way series. Shame you aren't raffling it Matt.
I have mate in Germany has one.. He has done huge mileage in it. Over there they keep their Autobahn crunchers and put the miles on. 100,000 miles would be "Nil coma nix". It is a totally different idea. the build and drive quality motors and view them as work tools and by looking after them they return the investment.
I’ve a cayman. Porsches have stone chips de rigeur. They all have them if they’re over a year or two old. It’s the shape and they’re low. Only ones that are used that have zero chips have had a spray at the front. I’d leave it as is on a Porsche.
I have a friend who owns a Panamera, he loves it and even likes the styling! Apart from this strange aberration, he is of sound mind and has impeccable taste (his wife is a total stunner)!!!!!! He has on occasions offered to loan me the car (which I declined), but sadly he has never made a similar offer regarding his wife😢😢
A very interesting car, I always go into a quizzical stare when I see one but your video brought about a need to think of it in a more likeable stare. I would be interested if it goes to loving enthusiast. I'm starting to like them Nice one Matt.
Agreed on not respraying the bonnet!! It would have raised eyebrows… good call mate! Amazed at the service prices. Been quoted the same money for a C200 W205!
Good video Matt. The looks are snacks acquired taste (being kind) but that engine e noise is something else. Wouldn't mind a drive of it tbh and rock up to my mates on golf course...
Great vid and right choice not to repaint the front bonnet Now you have more margin to reduce should the new owner want it repainted Hope you sell it faster than the Aston Martin
I would have painted the front and kept the bill with the car, showing by the painter why it was painted. If I were a buyer,I would see it as a positive.
Think touching in the stone chops is best, a re-sprayed bonnet would always look a different shade in certain lights, so folk think it’s been in a smash….
I didn’t like the look of them at first, but they’ve grown on me. I’m willing to help you out Matt. I’m willing to swap my 2012 S3 for your Porsche, so that you don’t have to look at it anymore. I know, I know, it’s just the kind of guy I am…… How do we do this?
Had a loan of a new Panamera GTS for a few days when my 911 was getting serviced, absolutely loved it, but as I already had a company BMW 5 series I couldn’t justify buying one, even though back seat and boot space was fantastic for the family too!
I tested a 2010 one the other day. It was fantastic and looked like brand new but I couldn’t overcome my concern about the cost of fixing everything that would go wrong. The passenger door lock stopped working at the start of the test drive which was embarrassing for the salesman so I walked away.
You should have used the door problem to get £5k off the asking price .... 😂..... at least! You may have missed out big time. The worst that could happen is they say no.
Thanks for another cracking video Matt. Something very satisfying about seeing the before and afters. Actually love the look from the front end, the rear is a little cumbersome. I think you did mega for £1590, however I would have definitely painted the bonnet. I suppose you can use this as a negociating to the prospective buyer. Good luck with the sale of this beast.
Hi Matt I think you made the right decision on the bonnet keeping the car honest and genuine Also the rear end on these is hideous but some people like the Kardashian’s for there rear so it’s all about personal taste, I think you know what camp I’m in 👍
Blowing in a front bumper and bonnet on a Porsche is totally normal, they have very soft paint. It's saved you some money so if it becomes a condition of sale you can still do it, if not you can save it!
For the stone chips question as a buyer I would say just touch up, keep it honest. know the price to fix it and then the buyer can do that themselves. By explaining the situation and giving a price of roughly what it will cost them I would feel that's preferable. If you have a good relationship with the body shop why not ask them to do a quote in writing, honour it for 30 days and give this to the buyer as part of the deal. The body shop is then still getting the business from either High Peak or new owner and you are feeding your trade contacts work rather than the seller looking for someone else to fix it.
Great vlog as always Matt but I think your a little light on your projected price that you mentioned, add another 2k and you'll still have plenty of interest.
Looks like a very good deal for you and a new buyer; I think I would overlook the high mileage, as a buyer, Porsches can wear it, and appreciate the high spec.
A friend of mine in the US had one. When I visited him it was being serviced at the local Porsche dealer and he asked me if I wanted to go with him to collect it and drive it home for him. We went there in his truck, me thinking I'd follow him at a leisurely pace. After paying the bill (a cool $5k - I peeked over his shoulder) he gave me the keys. While I was acquainting myself with the Porsche my mate got into his truck and zoomed off. I only had a vague idea of the directions home and had to drive the Porsche like I stole it, through evening rush hour traffic in Oklahoma City, all the while my botty was doing an impression of a sprinting jellyfish. I managed to get to his house then disgraced myself by scraping the rims against the high curb as I parked it - he was very gracious about but it cost me a bottle of good bourbon 😄
Love your vids, best youtuber ever my friend and your style is so refreshing my guy ....plus @ 25 k it's a stone cold bargain especially seeing as you made it like half the miles it has actually done..fair play brother, fair fair play
We seem to have a massive phobia here in the uk with higher mileage cars. In the states or Oz that mileage would be considered only just broken in. Mind you, the roads are probably better over there so the cars don’t get so battered. Not to everyone’s taste but I’ve always liked the panamera. Nice to be different
Popping to the shops here in the UK could mean a whole five mile round trip. In larger continents like AUS and USA, a trip to the shopping mall could involve a trip over two hundred miles in total. That way the mileage soon piles up. I used to travel much in my job back in the 1960/70s. British built private and company supplied cars clocked up miles over 100,000 and the cars were reliable. Freeway Motorway miles are less stressful on all car components provided the car is well maintained and driven sensibly. Good looking car the Panamera to my old minces.
Loving the Panamera Matt. Regarding the bonnet, if you leave it for now and give any potential customer the option to have it painted. Just remember to leave the cost in the budget. That way the customer gets full transparency and is being given the feeling of having a bargaining chip. I'll do the deal if you paint the bonnet, scenario. Winning with the below budget spends though. Very unlike you! 🤣

@@HighPeakAutos could you please do something with the audio in your videos? It's terrible. Your voice is mixed with road/ambient noise and it's very hard to understand what you're saying.
@@HighPeakAutos Hey Matt. 👋 how do I contact you to see if you want my car?
regards
Steve
I rather like the look of the Panamera. It has an honest quality.
I never thought it was a bad looking car
The only Porsche I've ever considered owning. Proper car. I like them. You can keep all the pendulous tarted up beetles which does confirm you can polish the proverbial.
Great video, agree that touching up paint chips is the way in my humble opinion. The pros can do some great repairs on paintwork without respraying these days.
Can't argue with Porsche build quality and reliability. Loved with the video with Joel
I think you done the right thing by not painting the bonnet, those stone chips show that the car is honest and whoever buys it can get it painted if they wish and it saves you some wonga.
Personally I don’t care how it looks , I’d have it in a heartbeat
( if I could afford the petrol 😵)
Matt, there is a garage called Roadside Garage in Heaton Moor who might have slots for your cars now and then.
The most honest second hand car salesman in the western hemisphere.
They're great
Another warts and all honest upfront from some one who just treats the car how it should be treated , i had to re-watch the part about you staying in(and under) your budget several times in disbelief...
I would have taken before and after pictures of the bonnet and had it painted. Great job bringing it back to how a Porsche should be.
In Reference the paint quandary , originality is always king for discerning buyers but of course is always the stick
they will try to batter the price down with . One answer is to photograph the stonechips before the repair which will
satisfy most people if they bring up the issue , alternatively have a set price for both options .
I think it depends on the car too ... run of the mill cars its better to just paint and be done with ... special stuff maybe
do one the above ? .. one specific car is Lotus , with the problems with osmosis on the glass fibre many buyers are put
off by any respraying as it could be covering serious issues rather than just stonechips .
Why not just wrap the bonnet nd bumper? This will hide the stone chips but also make it look fresh and protect front end from any any more stone chips. Lovely car though and those wheels look brand new again. Take care and I look forward to watching your other videos.
I love the Panamera Matt! My word I would cherish that car and that noise wow! Another fantastic video. Cheers Matt😎
I'm curious what the previous owner's occupation was to rack up 142k miles since 2013 in a Panamera...Was it an import/export business perhaps? That's a lot of shuttle runs to Hull and Dover...
maybe making Phil an offer he couldn't refuse?
bad back. bad jokes!😁
“The front bumper has got more duck tape than a hostage” 😂😂😂
lol
Best comment 😂😂😂😂
Matt rejected "than a kidnapped schoolgirl" first, for that joke. Sorry, I've been listening to a lot of Gervais & Boyle lately
Ricky's quite offensive but Susan tells some shocking sick jokes between songs at her gigs.
Astonishing turnaround , and I know that it is a subjective thing but I think it looks and sounds gorgeous.
I'm starting to like them
Nice one Matt.
Always been a fan of them, spec looks great! "More tape than a hostage victim" 😂can you write a book of these
love the b4 and after vids!
Grate video - would be even better if you let us know how much it sold for. Keep up the great work.
This is Quickly becoming my favorite car channel. Your presenting is top class.
Nice one mate, again!
Funny guy....the bumpers got more tape than a hostage😂😂😂
Agreed on not respraying the bonnet!! It would have raised eyebrows… good call mate! Amazed at the service prices. Been quoted the same money for a C200 W205!
Question how long would you keep hold of a car and what would you do if it doesn’t sell ?
Use the paddles, treat it like a stick. I own a 2016. It changes the dynamic completely
Good video Matt. The looks are snacks acquired taste (being kind) but that engine e noise is something else.
Wouldn't mind a drive of it tbh and rock up to my mates on golf course...
Great vid and right choice not to repaint the front bonnet
Now you have more margin to reduce should the new owner want it repainted
Hope you sell it faster than the Aston Martin
Love this review/option from a dealer it's a great insight to the motor trade.i wouldn't hesitate to buy from this guy.
I tested a 2010 one the other day. It was fantastic and looked like brand new but I couldn’t overcome my concern about the cost of fixing everything that would go wrong. The passenger door lock stopped working at the start of the test drive which was embarrassing for the salesman so I walked away.
Buy this one instead 🤙
You should have used the door problem to get £5k off the asking price .... 😂..... at least!
You may have missed out big time. The worst that could happen is they say no.
Each door lock fix costs around 700 each door
Josh L Ouch
You could leave the stone chips as they are and offer the potential buyer the option for a small fee
Lovely car ...bit like Marmite , I love Marmite !....absolute bargain .. By the way great video .
174k subs blimey loving the constant uploads and the reviews absolutely amazing
Thanks for another cracking video Matt. Something very satisfying about seeing the before and afters. Actually love the look from the front end, the rear is a little cumbersome. I think you did mega for £1590, however I would have definitely painted the bonnet. I suppose you can use this as a negociating to the prospective buyer. Good luck with the sale of this beast.
Looks like this is still on the road a healthy!! Great stuff!!
Hi Matt
I think you made the right decision on the bonnet keeping the car honest and genuine
Also the rear end on these is hideous but some people like the Kardashian’s for there rear so it’s all about personal taste, I think you know what camp I’m in 👍
I think you were right to avoid respraying the stone chips. Anybody buying a car with 140k miles would be more nervous at a respray over a few chips
I actually really like the look of the car and the interior looks awesome.
I've always loved the looks of this Porche. Reminds me of a Mazda 3 hatchback 😉
Blowing in a front bumper and bonnet on a Porsche is totally normal, they have very soft paint. It's saved you some money so if it becomes a condition of sale you can still do it, if not you can save it!
Good deal, and I think you’ve gone the right way about preparing it.
Great vlog as always Matt but I think your a little light on your projected price that you mentioned, add another 2k and you'll still have plenty of interest.
re stone chips use a mobile paint guy to sort them out, the guy i use does amazing blending in work. Funny im after a Panamera but a diesel one 👍
Looks like a very good deal for you and a new buyer; I think I would overlook the high mileage, as a buyer, Porsches can wear it, and appreciate the high spec.
What a car, and what an amazing job on the refurb. Looks stunning.
Wow, the exhaust note was awesome. Well worth the road noise problem to be able to hear that. Nice car from the inside 😁😁
Hi Matt have you tried clipping your mic to the neck of your tee shirt slightly to your left so when you talk into camera you stay on mic? Also you shouldn’t need to use the windshield unless you’re outside or have the windows open. Great videos!
I’ll try that next time. Thanks
Enjoyed the vid as always 👍. However, I like the look of these - yes, the back end could have been better, but think back to the old 928's, and they did alright. I liked Nora Battey. 😂
Fair enough!
insert meme "shut up and take my like" ;dd Matt, keep them videos coming mate, I live on the South coast but if I ever decide to buy some new wheels, I'd head straight to HPA!
