    I think the reasons are fairly simple;
1.) People haven’t found compatible partners they can trust and build a healthy relationship with.
2.) People can’t afford to have a family or kids and the cost of living and owning a home has been ever increasing and job security and opportunities for young workers has been lowering while wages remain stagnant.
3.) Some people just aren’t marriage material, rather not now or just ever, so it’s best that they don’t get married.
4.) Because for some people, they already get everything they’d want out of a marriage while not being in a marriage, so they don’t even bother.
5.) Because the risk(s) of a marriage not working out are too high for some people.

    Thank you Brendan!
I think there is also another big reason why people (especially Christians) are not getting married and it's because they simply don't find anyone with matching standards and values with whom they can consider marriage. In many parishes around the western world 90% of the laity are old woman and very few young people are attending mass or parish programs. There are also many lukewarm Christians who don't take their faith or marriage seriously.
On some days I just side with Paul and say "It is better for a man not to marry"...

I married straight out of University last November, and I did not have a job. At the time I got married I was in my debt, and with no job, it was difficult for me to get into marriage. But when I discerned I understood that choosing a vocation was more important than financial security. But when we said Yes to God, he started paving the way to improve our financial situation even when we had no money.
Today, I have a job and we are doing alright,
"Look at the birds of the air; they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?",
"But strive first for the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well."
I believe these scriptural passages are true for all of us.

If you're willing to assume that feminist liberation books have influenced this issue, please also assume that factors such as the fact that millennial men and women are spending their 20s focusing on their schooling and career prep only to be thrust into the world where they are often vastly underpaid is also a factor, and one that's far more explicit in the minds of young millennials than "we need to destroy the family unit."
I am a 28-year-old evangelical Christian woman who wants to get married. Yes, you're right that growing up in a broken home does things to you (I have a lot of trust issues when it comes to men because of the destruction my father brought to my family's life), but I believe in the sanctity of marriage and desire to live a God-honoring life. But it's not going to happen anytime soon. I have two degrees, have paid off my debt, and work a full-time job. My take-home pay from my full-time job would have to be 50% greater to rent the cheapest apartment within an hour of my work. I'm not spending time going on dates because I'm too busy trying to figure out what kind of side hustle I can get, and what kind of work I can do that will be "valuable" enough for me to "deserve" a living wage. Many of my Christian friends are in the same boat, and we're tired of being lumped into statistics that suggest that the reason young people aren't getting married is because we're "promiscuous," "selfish," or "commitment averse," when in reality, the reasons we are not able to get married are far more practical.
If we can't even make marriage and having families a practical possibility for those of us who already want that, then how on earth are you going to convince others to pursue "traditional" family dynamics? It's not going to happen by pining blame on a toxic feminist book from the 1970s.

@Stories by Dark Saber light- No man or woman can get a man or woman if they work themselves to death. A relationship is a sacrifice because often what happens in a relationship is out of your control. But letting go of control is beautiful, because it’s the difference between fear and love. Today’s Gospel was about choosing between love of money and love of God. Choose God every time where He leads and He will never disappoint you. Praying for you sister 🙏 God Bless

I totally understand where you're coming from. Finances will always be a concern, whether it's paying the rent, or having surgery, or finding a reliable car. It amazes me just how different the cost of living is in different parts of the country. The tiny house I have in the midwest would probably cost $500K on the coast. Maybe consider alternatives to location, unless you have ties keeping you there. God bless!

I was waiting for the video to address education, stagnant wages, rising living costs, student debt, and other economic implications that inform a decision to marry, have children, and post-pone either. It’s not just culture, it’s also a lot of practicalities to weigh.

I’m a practicing Catholic. I’m 23 and have been dating my boyfriend for almost 3 years. We want to be married and I DEFINITELY AGREE with the sentiment of the comment above that financially, it would be very difficult to buy a ring, plan a wedding, and find a place to live. People always ask us, “So, when are you two getting married,” and now I’ve gotten to the point I say, “As soon as you donate $1,000.” It’s not that we don’t want to be married, it’s that life costs money.
I also agree with the sentiments of the video. I am sure for many non-practicing / fallen-away Catholics / Christians and atheists/agnostics, the sexual revolution is the root for why people are not being married. However, for a practicing Catholic like me, who wants to be married, and does not have rich parents who would gladly pay for a wedding and rent, my reason for not marrying sooner is very practical.

Interestingly, Kate Millett's sister was a devout Catholic and she remained friends with many of Kate's inner circle. (And she suspected at times that Kate was under demonic influence). She wrote how, as old women, these friends would cry at night and become angry at what Kate did saying, "Kate, where are my children?". All these friends remained single and childless and as old women they were profoundly lonely and full of regrets.

Many online-christians use concepts like "genocidal in a spiritual way" and particularly "spiritual death" a lot. When I ask them what these concepts actually mean, they are never able to explain it. marriages have been a problem since people judged what a family ought to look like. Yes only people who procreate should be married. Because it's science and truth. But those who have been married for the past 100 years or so so many have had abusive relationships. And now we go to counseling to fix these things. Counseling helps to fix marriages. Because we learn to respect each other again and without abuse. Some young children have had to face parental abuse. I was not one of them but it is sad to hear such stories. They are almost unbelievable until you see such things acted on television.
