My parents been married 38 years. They knew their roles. My dad brought home the money, and my mom took care of 3 kids and the house. No infidelity, honest with each other, priorities are right. Ran into some financial troubles but that never broke them. For rich or poor, sickness and health.

Apparently it can be done, but there's the issue of children. As a man, you're not automatically tied to any children you have even if your biologically tied to them. I tell men, especially if they're in their 20s, that they should save money and visit a third world country with no hint or the barest hint of Feminism there. They should also have basic skills that will be of use anywhere (carpentry and similar, auto mechanic, and be able to cook) so that they can go anywhere and be useful to themselves/their new home. They're scouting areas to live and once they find a place they like, they're done with the West. They can find a woman there, marry, have kids, and never go back home.

When my ex left me, she went online and found these social groups of ex-wives and soon-to-be ex wives. They are all such big fans of divorce. They encourage each other to get out, cash out, and live the good life on their ex-husband's dime. Crazy. She cheats on me, moves out, and then expects me to pay for it and then some. Luckily I got a good attorney, and her plans didn't go quite the way she had hoped.... But going through the legal aspect of it took YEARS, and I often found myself wishing I would have just paid her to not have to deal with all the court hearings and memos.... In the end though, justice prevailed and she ended up paying me.

Divorce laws were written at a time when alot less women were apart of the workforce. The problem is the laws havent changed but "strong independent women" have.
When families could survive on one salary and men were the bread winners of a family, a woman who had no training or education was thrown into poverty when a marriage ended. The problem was compounded when they they ended up with the kids and men didn't pay child support. They set up a system to stop that and hasn't adapted to our new reality of working women.

It's also amazing how quickly a lot of men get to abandon their kids now that they are 'free.' Not all divorces happen because of a woman's whim, lots of times there are solid resons to their demands, and not all women are trying to scam men.

I've been married 47 years. I have seen so much change with regard to how other people view marriage today. Marriage is commitment to not only each other but to all the mistakes, pitfalls and potential windfalls you will absolutely have together over time. Some people love the IDEA of marriage. But the reality of it, not so much. If you go into it with the mindset that money is more important than why you even wanted to enter into it in the first place, then my advice is, DON'T do it. And here's the thing. Only people that have a great deal of money going into a commitment of marriage (both men AND women) use THAT as the foundation of whether their marriage may or may not be successful, that's why they feel the need for prenups. If money is the central focus, it's doomed from day one. On the flip side of that, when you don't have a great deal of money from the beginning, THAT isn't the central focus. So TOGETHER you build the life you want with each other. Money and people's greed for it, mixed with their egos is why most marriages fail.

Luckily I got a good attorney, and her plans didn't go quite the way she had hoped.... But going through the legal aspect of it took YEARS, and I often found myself wishing I would have just paid her to not have to deal with all the court hearings and memos.... In the end though, justice prevailed and she ended up paying me.

Since you can't know if a woman is going to screw you over in divorce, the solution is to just not get married or hold out for that extremely rare case where a wealthier woman will even give you the time of day. I've been married 47 years. I have seen so much change with regard to how other people view marriage today. Marriage is commitment to not only each other but to all the mistakes, pitfalls and potential windfalls you will absolutely have together over time. Some people love the IDEA of marriage. But the reality of it, not so much. If you go into it with the mindset that money is more important than why you even wanted to enter into it in the first place, then my advice is, DON'T do it. And here's the thing. Only people that have a great deal of money going into a commitment of marriage (both men AND women) use THAT as the foundation of whether their marriage may or may not be successful, that's why they feel the need for prenups. If money is the central focus, it's doomed from day one. On the flip side of that, when you don't have a great deal of money from the beginning, THAT isn't the central focus. So TOGETHER you build the life you want with each other. Money and people's greed for it, mixed with their egos is why most marriages fail.
It wouldn't fail if the woman didn't feel entitled to half of all the assets. The laws are the first problem, we can work out the rest later.

Women initiate over 70% of divorces and then win custody of children the majority of the time, receive child support, alimony, and other assets. Marriage makes absolute no sense for men and the only reason they do it is because women and society pressure them into doing it.
Not to mention, weddings are centered around the women. Women receive all of the attention and weddings are extremely expensive.
