    This is exactly what I was looking for! I have been trying to figure out how those two inner doors are supposed to move. This video showed that perfectly thank you my friend!

      I was in your same shoes, took a ton of forum searching and head scratching. Ended up being fairly simple and easy to show so I'm glad the video helped!

    I can’t thank you enough for making this vid. Just wanted you to know that it has definitely helped an owner of an ‘84 to try & fix the same problem. Thank you sir. 🙏👍🏻👍🏻

    Common plastic break for age. I just drilled a small hole through the broke plastic piece and put the skinniest toggle screw I could find in it. The toggle pushes against the door when pushing out, the inset of the piece keeps it from falling through when pulling it in, and it works fine.

    I'm currently working on this project myself. Just replaced the AC clip that broke and broke another clip in the process. My concern is attaching new clip and cable to sync with the internal little flaps he mentioned. I noticed those works simultaneously.

    I wish you could make a video on how to build this because I have the same problem and need a fix similar to this without rebuilding the whole system

      Shouldn't be that hard just get a thin piece of metal angled like that and match it up to the plastic piece drill a few holes And Cut down to size

    Those little clips are hard to find, but they are also used in other GM cars. I got mine from a Camaro

    My 87 just heater core changed & now I’m getting constant air flow at feet, even when I change to defrost. You think it’s possible mechanic might have damaged this part you fabricated?

    • @Geoff240ti
      @Geoff240ti  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Possible that part broke, also easy to install the vacuum lines wrong causing the wrong flaps to open/ shut

      Geoff240ti thank you, I didn’t even think about the vacuum lines.

      Geoff240ti I took mine apart & I confirmed that my plastic is also broken. How were you able to pull the nail that’s holds the plastic clip to the arm that pushes the doo open & closed?

    Can u tell me where you're getting your vavuum from???

      looking from the front of the vehicle at the motor. you should have a small vacuum line coming into your engine area just to the right of the AC Evaporator. That line runs to a T. The other side of the T should be going to a round vacuum storage tank mounted in the far right corner on the firewall. The other connection of the T is the feed line pulling vacuum from the intake thru a small check valve. Pull your breather and just look for the check valve right behind the motor and follow the vacuum lines connected to it....

    How do you get the old clip out?

      I had my box apart, but I'm pretty sure I was able to back the hex bolt out with it assembled. Is there a nut behind it? Can't recall.
