    I watched a few tutorials and they all had the 2 piece cover when you pull the core out. Finally found a one piece tutorial. I was stuck on the rod n didnt know. Keep up the great work

    Glad you got that fixed! Now I don't have to refuse to ride along when the weather is cold.

    Its much easier if you work the rod out the only place it sticks is on the opposite side down side from the small leaver. Use diagonal side cutters and work it on both sides of the blend door tab to work it free. The lever floats on the upper leaver side the rod has a flat that goes in the other end to operate the door.

    Great video. Nice to see just the way a working guy keeps our old square bodies on the road. Not restoring, just a driver. Good job.

    No need to remove the rod for the blend door. You can just spread out the sides of the box enough to clear the rod ends and the box slides right out to get to the heater core.

    If you are in a pinch and just need the heat and you have the A/C disconnected as you do on this particular truck you can run hoses to the evaporator core AKA heater core 2.0 lol my 74 crew cab ramp truck is like that currently has been that way for about 8 years....

      I bet you get amazing heat that way,lol the evap has alot more surface area than the heater core so if your willing to loose the ac then it will definitely work but if you live in the south like me there is now way I would ever give up my ac, I spent so much time and money putting my ac back together that theres no way I will ever get rid of it.

    Hello, great vids.
    I got one with absolutely no heat. Could it be water pump?
    I mean no heat at all ice cold air.
    Thanks

    • @SquarebodyStuff
      @SquarebodyStuff  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'd guess the heater core is blocked. If it was the pump, you're engine would overheat.

    Kinda ironic i watch about all of your videos and this popped up today. This morning i got in my blazer and no blow out the defroster i tore into it and the plastic piece was broke so i put a used one i had in it. My question is does that back tang on that thing need to go down in that slot ? My blow is better but still not great

      The end with the hole stays on the outside. The other end should have a tab that hooks through the hole in the door.

  • @bullardfarms
    @bullardfarms ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I had to replace the heater core on my c10. Now, and probably before too, the air conditioner leaks condensation in the cab and wets the carpet. I know its not the heater core because I disconnected it to see. When you stop driving, condensation pours out outside. I don't know if it drains while driving or not. Do you know how to fix this? Thanks!

    • @SquarebodyStuff
      @SquarebodyStuff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You might have to pull it back apart and see if the drain Is plugged from inside.

    If your careful, this is not a hard job, the hardest part is getting the inner fender out. When I did mine I thought it was going to be a nightmare but it only took a couple of hours and was not a bad job at all.

    Hey brother I’m just wondering if it’s possible to stop my 76 c10 blower motor from pulling in outside air. My exhaust doesn’t leak but at lights it still pulls in the surrounding exhaust smells is there anyway to prevent the blower from pulling that in or closing that off

    • @SquarebodyStuff
      @SquarebodyStuff  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Disconnect the fan is the only way I know of. Or run your exhaust further out the back.

    • @martinolivas319
      @martinolivas319 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      My exhaust dumps behind the back tires, but at the traffic lights it will pull in exhaust from the vehicles around me , I don’t want to disconnect it as I’m usually running the ac

    • @SquarebodyStuff
      @SquarebodyStuff  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you run the ac on max ac, it should recirculate the air inside the cab and not pull from the outside
