I've just learned that if you want your swimwear to last in a chlorinated pool, it needs to be made of nylon rather than polyester (they will both have spandex in the blend. You can use a polyester one in the ocean or lake though, plus it is more sun protective. I wondered why some of my bathing suits didn't last in a pool.
That Saguaro set looks so cute on you Cath! The Elodie looks beautiful on you too. It's amazing how different makes can look on a person vs. on the cover. xx Karen
My favorite of your "2023 favourites" would have to be the bright blue with orange flowers shirt dress, although your Elodie wrap dress would be a close second. I love the tote bags from the Guthrie & Ghani kits. I recently signed up for the Sewing Society, so those kits were all gone. I am looking forward to seeing what kits Lauren has this Wednesday. Thanks, Cath.
Thank you very much, I have really enjoyed sewing and wearing both of those dresses. Yes I’m excited to see what the kits are on Wednesday too! It’s been a while since the last ones with the January break so I am looking forward to seeing what Lauren has been working on!
Hi Cath Lovely to see you as always Your outfit of the day is lovely the colour green suits you so well What a lovely video today honestly truly delightful you spend so much time making the videos I really appreciate it thank you All your makes are stunning you have such a variety of clothes look forward to this years makes Take care Cath have a lovely week xx❤️❤️❤️❤️
What a great roundup of favorites for the year. 🎉. I’m still amazed at how nicely your garments fit & look compared to the line drawings. The Elodie did not appeal to me but your version looks fabulous. The Maeve skirt hack is lovely & I especially love the bright colors. Thank you so much for sharing 😊
I made the Emmie Tee.I bought a fabric remnant bundle. Three shades of blue, one of them striped. I used some coral fabric for the smaller piece which really added a bit of zing
I made two saraste dresses this year! It looks really wonderful in a stripe, if you cut the sleeves and yoke on the crossgrain it is really striking, and the stripe running all the way down the front looks lovely too.
That Saraste shirtwaist dress in the Named Clothing book is my favorite of your makes and sits on my bookshelf waiting for me to make it this spring. You have made so many nice dresses, but that one is really outstanding! I love your style!❤
Thank you very much! I had the fabric for the Elodie dress for a while before I cut into it and I’m really glad it turned out well as I do love the fabric 😊
The green jersey top is the perfect color on you. And I love the black palazzo pants and cropped top on you. And of course your Sherpa fleece is perfect.
I was very inspired t your Moss skirt. I’m losing weight after medical treatment and I’m just back into the size range. I’ve bought some r beautiful purple cord to make it in.
Hey Cath, I really enjoyed seeing all your favorites. :) i think the maeve skirt and the shirt dress are really amazing makes. But also all the others of course 😊. I was wondering, do you know how many sewing makes you finished in 2023? Have a lovely weekend.
I like the Scout tee by Grainline Studio. It’s fitted at the shoulders with a nice scoop neck then a looser fit to the waist (but I wouldn’t say boxy). It’s one I’ve made a couple of times and I think you can dress it up and down.
Hi Kath when you crochet your animals and small projects do you block them before sewing them up I’ve never used one, I crochet some animals for my granddaughter, but just sewed them up, she wants some more so would like some advise about using one thank you
Hi there, I don’t usually block knitted animal pieces before sewing them up. When I made a little knitted dress for one of the knitted animals recently I did block that though, to give a nice flat finish on the hemline of the dress especially.
Great job! You are gorgeous in that green Agnes tee! That is a wonderful color for you.
Thank you very much. I do really like that shade of green 😊

Hi there thank you very much 😊 I’m not sure actually on a total makes as I don’t always record things like basics! Hope you have a lovely weekend too
My favourite make of the year was my Saraste shirt dress! I made it after seeing yours, the collar frill is so cute!
I am so glad you enjoyed the Saraste shirt dress pattern too! The collar frill is such a nice detail isn’t it!
Hi Cath, any suggestions please for a woven short sleeve tee shirt that isn’t too boxy. Thank you

Ok thank you think I might get a block as I’m doing granny squares as well
@sueperkins8673 it is definitely really great for granny squares to get them all uniformly square 😊
