@jackmack4181 It goes even deeper than that: In the "Meet the Director" comic, it's revealed that the Administrator used the things they said during those "interviews" to get leverage against them. Soldier's heads get stolen, heavy gets sent pictures of his house, some of which are taken from _inside_ the home, and sniper gets sent a picture of his parents, just outside their home. And the Administrator was able to get this info on heavy even _without_ him saying anything. Heavy was smart enough to realize that these interviews had an ulterior motive, and didn't say anything more than he absolutely had to. Even when the director specifically asks about his father's death and his stint in a gulag, heavy doesn't even acknowledge it. He just says, "I like this gun; I like to shoot this gun. Is *all you need to know",* over and over again. And even then, the Administrator _still_ manages to find some incriminating shit on heavy (the aforementioned photographs), so just imagine what she might've found had he humored the director.
I love how the plot twist in Meet the Spy explains why the "scouts" reaction was so genuine, which also makes you suspect him less, just that the reaction is "How did you get these?!". 🙂

11:35 If you do the math, it's 100% correct. 10,000 rounds per minute times $200 custom toll cartridges = $2,000,000 per minute, or 60 seconds. $2,000,000 divided by 60 = $33,333.3(333...) per second $33,333.3(333...) times 12 = $400,000 per 12 seconds.
It cost $400,000 in 1968. Meaning it would cost $3,585,818.18 to fire that weapon in the 2023 USD for 12 seconds. Meaning Mann Co. spends more money on heavy’s weapon than the US does on F-22s

Which is a bit of a shame, because he's a really solid example of representation in gaming - maybe not as much him being Scottish (there's some easy jokes they go for about that), but him being black isn't a factor to the other mercs, even as they spout insults at him (as they do for anyone else with kill streaks against players, revenge voice lines that play when you break a kill streak against you, etc). Hell, the game in general is pretty good at pulling back when it's not necessary - it's set in the 1970s, so obviously there's global tensions afoot even in the alternate universe the game is set in, but the German Medic, the Soviet Heavy, and the American Soldier are all very happy to work with each other and their nationalities don't really come into play. Demoman's race, as well, just doesn't matter to anyone, and his representation in that regard usually boils down to some neat cosmetics (there's a "hat" that turns his default beanie into a hairstyle reminiscent of Jimi Hendrix) over anything else that could be considered over the line. The game still has its share of bravado, but it treats its characters quite well.
@@1AlasBabylon Also heavy isn't soviet, his family was imprisoned for being counter-revolutionaries but he broke them out and murdered every single guard, then they escaped to Siberia. Also his sister marries the soldier.
You can actually tell Scout's the Spy in the first few shots. He doesn't know the code to the door, he immediately rushes towards the briefcase, he grabs the knife by the safe handle and "cuts" himself (which is only possible if you grabbed it by the bite handle, the handle that has the blade facing it), and he says "no offense" to Spy even though the real Scout would _never_ say that.
I love how this mans pulled a gun on Engineer and called him stupid, while Engie cannonically has 11 PhDs and those turrets would rip us all in half instantly
Engineer's Guns? They don't know fear, they don't feel pain. And they shoot a bigger bullet than whatever that peashooter's got. And best of all, they're automated. They'll be shootin' while he's rancho relaxin'.
Funnily enough, you wouldn't be able to flip Heavy's rounds for money since they're canonically an unregistered caliber. Heavy says this because he doesn't want enemies to be able to reuse his ammunition if they were able to get ahold of it. 400,000 dollars for a reason
Fun fact: All the lines in Meet the Sandvich were improvised by the voice actors in the booth. The had to scrap the original script for legal reasons and just made shit up to maintain job security.
This game is one that found the Holy Grail and gained eternal life. The game hasn’t been given a major content update in actual years but the playerbase is still massive, even bigger than some modern recent games that are getting new things added. It’s kinda wild tbh
Some things to note: The Spy does not teleport, he just goes invisible. Pyro is not insane, we can see the words “OPTICAL MASK” written on his gas mask, implying that the mask distorts his vision into what he’s seeing. The long censor in Demo’s bit is actually him talking about the Loch Ness Monster, it was censored because in lore the Scottish government didn’t want that information being revealed. Medic sold his soul to the devil, he then took his teammates souls and used that to get into heaven. Sniper’s jars of piss are a secondary weapon he can use, they cause enemies to take Mini-Crit damage. The Sandvich is a secondary weapon the Heavy can use, it restores him to maximum health and can be dropped to give anyone who picks it up (Enemies included) 50% of their max health back.
@@JoaoLucasK Lorewise he sees the world in Pyrovision, this is shown in certain scenes in the comics. He sees the world normally in game but this is for gameplay purposes.
@@tigerlover2853 Yeah, but that's because he uses special goggles. And he can see in Pyrovision during gameplay too if you give him the cosmetics for it
@@JoaoLucasK Exactly, the Meet The Pyro trailer specifically shows us pyro vision when it shows us what he sees, nothing else. He’s being deceived into thinking he’s doing good.
I've heard the explanation that this was the very first use of it and shorted out the bulletproof function, though I don't remember if it's an official explanation or just a fan one.
18:10 That's actually a reference to actual scientific experiments where they used electrical power to re-animate the head of a dog. Look up the Russian documentary 'Experiments in the Revival of Organisms' if you want to learn more. :)
Its also a reference to an earlier draft of meet the medic where the first person to be (accidentally) ubered was a spy head that became invincible. There is an animated storyboard of it on YT called "my darkest moment".
The Sandvich is an item you get either by random drop or by completing the achievement "Heavy milestone 1" you can use it as heavy to restore your health, or give it to a random teammate to heal them.
Eventhough this game is 16 years old, it's more alive than ever rn, since it's got it first major update in 6 years! It's trending rn cuz of all the memes, music and fan animations (Emesis Blue best TF2 movie hands down) and the hilarious downfall of Overwatch 2. I still playing the game and would love to play with you
Best thing about this game, is its never gonna disappear, this game will never die, and yes tf2 is still playable to this day, tf2 the 13 year old game is still running with servers full of people playing
Which reminds me, look up Lazy Purple's "what it feels like to play ___" series where he goes over each class and how they feel to play. I promise the quality is just as good as these official ones he's very good. You'll love it if you loved these! Everyone who reacts to meet the team ends up reacting to those as well.
game originally came out 10/10/2007. It got an update recently, for the summer of 2023. Scout carries a scattergun, a pistol, and a metal baseball bat. He is the fastest class, running 33% faster than base speed. He is able to double jump. His scattergun can deal up to 100 damage a shot at point blank range. To offset this, he's frail, at only 125 hp. He has a high opinion of himself, and a bit of a god complex Soldier is robust. Rocket launcher, shotgun, shovel. A true american through and through, a veteran of his own campaign in poland in 1946 for WWII. Pyro. Flamethrower, shotgun, fire axe. Not much is known except their love of fire, and seemingly innocent demeanor as they fricassee enemies. Demoman, grenade launcher, stickybomb launcher, and a bottle of scrumpy. Always drunk, always setting traps, and is a monster at taking out large groups of enemies with some friendly support. Heavy. Minigun, shotgun, bare knuckles. The Big shaved bear that hates people. Well, that's what he wants you thinking anyway. Engineer. Shotgun, pistol, wrench, and his buildings. All round supporter, and texan through and through. Medic. Syringe gun, medigun, bonesaw. A doctor that prefers his experiments, his discovery of the tech that leads to his medigun was a happy accident. Sniper. Sniper rifle, smg, kukri. A professional hitman, and yes, those were jars of piss. Spy. Revolver, balisong knife, sapper, disguise kit, and invisibility watch. A masked murderer, wrapped in shadow, bathed in enigma, and did the dirty with scout's mother....about nine months before scout was born.
They just did a huge update not long ago, and it’s still free to play as far as I’m aware. Go play it, friend. Be free from the shackles of modern day gaming. Let us know how it went! It’s insane, but honestly all in good fun.
The in game lore reason for Heavy's guns being so expensive to shoot is because he spends most of his money buying antique silver coins to melt down to make bullets, lmao.
So, fun fact. In Meet The Spy, it actually gives away who the spy is at the start. The "scout" pricks himself with the blunt end of the knife. Also, the Blue Spy is finished off by the Red one when he says "right behind you". He's pointing at the Scout before he's shot.
If you're thinking about trying this game out, I would highly HIGHLY recommend it. It's a fucking fantastic game for just not taking seriously and seeing how many fun kills you can get. Soldier is easily gonna be one of the best characters to get started with, but each of them have their own fun. If you're wanting to try it anytime soon, the game has been undergoing a massive issue with aimbots (snipers filling games with instant headshots, stuff like that). Generally right now they're showing up in the current featured "Summer" maps, so as long as you queue for the other modes like Control Point, King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, etc. You shouldn't see them quite as much. Seriously hope to see you in game, brother! TF2 has been one of my all time favorite games for roughly 15-ish years now lol
Context on the Pyro, they don't know they're in a war. The Pyro's goggles change what they see. Edit: -_- just because most (all) of you don't believe me, that doesn't mean that i can't have my own god damn opinion. my god
Stop spreading this nonsense. The Pyro is insane, full stop. He's/she's not wearing goggles, the item in-game is so that players can see what the Pyro sees, nothing more.
@@IBeforeAExceptAfterK sure, then explain why the goggles make the world of war look like a magical wonderland full of happiness and laughter where their actions don't kill.
@@Astral575 Are you familiar with the concept of gameplay and story segregation? Just because the goggles are an item in-game doesn't mean they're canon.
@@IBeforeAExceptAfterKtf u mean it's not canon, in the comics, in meet the team, it always show Pyro's actual vision, he sees that he helps little babies by giving them candy, he thinks he's helping this magical wonderland by making it even better, without knowing he be causing actual war crimes
@@SoupDealerhe also brutally kills a bear with an axe because he thinks it told him to not set things on fire, so he knows what he's doing. The lore is a joke, you don't need to overanalyse it, just laugh if you think it's funny
TF2 is still one of the most charming games ever made. These trailers entirely encapsulate the game's fantastic vibe, it's SO much better than any of these idea-less fortnite-ripoff aesthetics in AAA shooters. Just shove funny cosmetics in and that's that. TF2 has those but good lord the core characters are SO cool.
I’m glad this guy actually pauses when he reacts or laughs to something instead of letting the video play and just completely ignoring the next 10 seconds of it
22:48 Actually in the comics, he meets up with his parents in the comic (not spoiling how) and they acknowledge and respect that he is a professional. Highly recommend reading the comics, as they are a lot of fun.
I love watching other people who may or may not have played this game react to it and maybe even try it, it makes me so happy that people really love and enjoy the things that i also enjoy even if they don't actually know much about it
So if you add together Blu Spy's and Red Spy's lines, you can get the full sentence "He could be in this very room, he could be you, he could be me, he could even be-" "… right behind you"
I highly recommend this video game! It's old but it aged like a fine wine with a strong playerbase that stood the test of time with an active community with artists and even technical creators who make new maps for the game to this very modern day. The combat is fast paced and action packed, but also rewards stealth and more strategic and slow gameplay for other class types. Want a change of pace from PvP? TF2 has you covered with a unique PvE gamemode called Mann vs. Machine. If you enjoy first person shooters and also robotic science fiction, TF2 has the best of both worlds! And most of all, it's free.
This game is still very active, and even reached an all-time high in player-count recently! Although Valve won't update the game except for holidays anymore, the community is thriving. They even went ahead and put a VScript in, so EVERYONE could make their own updates basically.
Which is.....kind of insane and nonsensical to think of. It wasn't even that amazing of an update. I guess games like this just won't die , much like counter strike and dota. These 3 steam games are eternal.
You're gonna hear a lot of recommendations for animated TF2 content but primarily Expiration Date is the best imo. An official full length animation with its own little story. Good shit. Also you entertaining as hell dude
The game is old as balls but it recently had an all time player peak, 16 years after the initial release! It's still going strong. The community won't let it die any time soon.
Now you've seen this, I beg of thee to watch more SFM videos, be they made by Valve or fan-created from people like The Winglet and Kostamoinen. *AND* LazyPurple's 'How it FEELS to play' series, they're all fantastic I promise you, the 'extras' videos included. Seriously though, it's always great to see people learning about this game, even if the prospect of anyone not knowing of it admittely baffles me.

Canonically, the Engineer is from Texas. As a texan, i can confirm his view on "guns" is widely shared, and we all have mounted tripod turrets designed by him in our homes.
Heavy: Russian Demo: Scottish Soldier: American (Midwest) Scout: American (Boston) Spy: French Medic: German Engineer: American (Texas) Sniper: Australian (Born in New Zealand but raised by his adoptive parents in Australia) Pyro: Pyroland (Also Spy is Scout’s father, so Spy did, indeed, pull a “Your Mom” Joke on his own son, with photographic evidence)
Now that you've stepped into the rabbit hole that is TF2 SFM creations, there are three paths ahead of you leading even deeper. I recommend you continue upon the Official pathway to familiarise yourself with some of the lore, then you can release your inner Gamer and experience playing TF2 without actually playing it by following the Gameplay path, or pickup a compelling story with great action by stepping upon the Story path, or you can leap and tumble down deeper into the Team Fortress 2 rabbit hole that is the Lore path. The servers are totally still up! We recently hit 250k player count as an all time peak! Now’s a good time to get into the game. You’re not playing the full game until you unlock all the side grades btw. I’d recommend buying a key and using it to trade for the weapons from a trade website or server. If you don’t want to do all that there are quite a few achievement based items you could try out. If you play long enough you’ll start to naturally get sidegrades from the random drop system, but it will take a while to get everything. It’s $2.50 for a key and you’ll have so much extra currency you can probably buy a few low grade hats too. Additionally ever since we started having some bot problems, new accounts that haven’t spent money can’t talk or use the in game chat.
Fun fact soldier has led poisoning and that's why he was like that Also engineers glove is a robotic arm he made, he cut his hand off to make himself one
Fun thing about the Pyro (EDIT : with certain weapons and cosmetics) that when you play as him the game itself changes to look like that, voices sound all squeaky and people laugh instead of screaming when they get killed.
Imagine A: making a “your mom” joke and HAVING THE EVIDENCE TO BACK IT UP And B: being offended and intimidated by the funny cartoon Texan mechanic 🤦♀️ Also you were robbed by the creator of this video. They ordered this wrong and the pacing suffered because of it 😅
13:40 yeah... who you think started the trend? since RIFT back in 2011, almost all games released on Steam had a TF2 bonus content if you had both games installed. swords and knives from The Witcher, a bow for Sniper from Thief, a new sapper for Spy from Portal 2, a flamethrower for Pyro from Alien: Isolation... everyone has a reference weapon.
theres actual lore to this series, the people running MannCo. The business that funds the tf2 gravel war (the game) decided they wanted the public to like their mercs, and had a director interview the RED team, Scout talked about himself for so long that they ran out of tape, Soldier spent 40 minutes talking about his version of U.S. History, Sniper didn't want to be interviewed, and Heavy has stage frieght, so he did exactly what you'd expect someone with the name Heavy Weapons Guy, to do. The lore is crazy tho, Spy is Scout's dad, Soldier got rejected from every military branch in WWII, and went to poland and started killing russians until he heard about the war ending 4 years late in 1949, Demoman's missing eyeball is magical and attacks the teams every halloween, Demoman's dad works 27 jobs, Soldier is roommates with a wizard, Scout has every piece of Tom Jones merch in existence, Soldier is a lawyer, Pyro ran a really successful business for like 8 years, Heavy regularly kills adult grizzly bears with his fists for a snack, engineer makes immortality machines in his spare time, Snipers name is pronounced "Mundee Mundee Mundee" in full, Sniper was blast to Australia from a rocket in New Zealand, which is an underwater civilization in this world, Abraham Lincoln invented Rocket Jumping, its wacky

Yes
Yea but wait. Is overwatch the future of the man war
But wait is overwatch developed by Valve?
@@mrwolfenstein_playznope it's made by Activision blizzard
@@juliancharizard2008 wait really? I thought Activision was creating cod games

Agree!!!
Correction Spy can’t teleport but he can turn Invisible for 10 seconds
You can actually tell Scout's the Spy in the first few shots. He doesn't know the code to the door, he immediately rushes towards the briefcase, he grabs the knife by the safe handle and "cuts" himself (which is only possible if you grabbed it by the bite handle, the handle that has the blade facing it), and he says "no offense" to Spy even though the real Scout would _never_ say that.
I love how this mans pulled a gun on Engineer and called him stupid, while Engie cannonically has 11 PhDs and those turrets would rip us all in half instantly
Engie Texan that’s prob why
That’s why he talk like that I think
Yeah this guy is very stupid.
11 months late but thats probably not why. Mann Co. is known for making low quality products, including their bullets, and overcharging for them.
Fun fact: All the lines in Meet the Sandvich were improvised by the voice actors in the booth. The had to scrap the original script for legal reasons and just made shit up to maintain job security.
Where did you read this
@@ChristIsKingForever11 It's up on the TF2 wiki and I believe there's a post on the TF2 blog that tells the story in detail.
This game is one that found the Holy Grail and gained eternal life. The game hasn’t been given a major content update in actual years but the playerbase is still massive, even bigger than some modern recent games that are getting new things added. It’s kinda wild tbh
What about that summer update? Idk how major it was but I heard it was more than just a “oh yeah better keep maintenance going” update
@@twelved4983 it was basically all community lmao. selbyen, phoenix, vsh, hats, etc
“Does it still exist”
This game has outlasted almost every other multiplayer game
Some things to note:
The Spy does not teleport, he just goes invisible.
The Sandvich is a secondary weapon the Heavy can use, it restores him to maximum health and can be dropped to give anyone who picks it up (Enemies included) 50% of their max health back.
the pyro absolutely is insane lmao
The Pyro is definitely insane. He can see the world normally, but he's clearly a pyromaniac
@@JoaoLucasK Lorewise he sees the world in Pyrovision, this is shown in certain scenes in the comics. He sees the world normally in game but this is for gameplay purposes.
@@tigerlover2853
Yeah, but that's because he uses special goggles.
Fun fact: the gun medic is holding is "quickfix" in-game it not make you bulletproof,it is only triple the healing when charge
I've heard the explanation that this was the very first use of it and shorted out the bulletproof function, though I don't remember if it's an official explanation or just a fan one.
It's a prototype version of stock, and even functionsmlike a crude version of stock but heals faster.
Servers full of bots unfortunately
Which reminds me, look up Lazy Purple's "what it feels like to play ___" series where he goes over each class and how they feel to play. I promise the quality is just as good as these official ones he's very good. You'll love it if you loved these! Everyone who reacts to meet the team ends up reacting to those as well.
The game is still going strong, 16 years and its still one of the most popular shooter games there is.
Only because of the constant support of Valve!
:(
game originally came out 10/10/2007.
He has a high opinion of himself, and a bit of a god complex
Soldier is robust.
I wouldn't say huge... huge would be Jungle Inferno. This summer update was just a bigger seasonal drop.
These characters- all of them are crazy, but it's weirdly charming.
The red spy shiesty has me CRYIINNNNGGG bro ☠️
Scouts line of "If you were from, where I was from, you'd be fucking dead" is so damn cold. Always loved that one.
Drazu looks like spooderman when he puts on that red mask
I love how he's immediately drawn towards Spy
The in game lore reason for Heavy's guns being so expensive to shoot is because he spends most of his money buying antique silver coins to melt down to make bullets, lmao.
So, fun fact. In Meet The Spy, it actually gives away who the spy is at the start. The "scout" pricks himself with the blunt end of the knife. Also, the Blue Spy is finished off by the Red one when he says "right behind you". He's pointing at the Scout before he's shot.
Maybe it was the impact and not the sharpness that “hurt” “scout”
I find it funny how this guy has beef with arguably the chillest of the mercs
I just realized medic would know pyro's gender because he operated on them. And because he owns their soul.
Edit: -_-
just because most (all) of you don't believe me, that doesn't mean that i can't have my own god damn opinion.
I’m glad this guy actually pauses when he reacts or laughs to something instead of letting the video play and just completely ignoring the next 10 seconds of it
“You call that breaking my spine? You red team ladies wouldn’t know how to break a spine if it- AARG! *MY SPIINNE!”*
30:37 blud got possessed by Chewbacca for one second
22:48 Actually in the comics, he meets up with his parents in the comic (not spoiling how) and they acknowledge and respect that he is a professional. Highly recommend reading the comics, as they are a lot of fun.
I love watching other people who may or may not have played this game react to it and maybe even try it, it makes me so happy that people really love and enjoy the things that i also enjoy even if they don't actually know much about it
still to this day i cant get over the small detail of when Scout taps the camera, his finger smudges the lens and it stays there
So if you add together Blu Spy's and Red Spy's lines, you can get the full sentence
"He could be in this very room, he could be you, he could be me, he could even be-"
"… right behind you"
Just a heads up, the Pyro's music tends to run into copyright issues, you might want to mute it to avoid takedowns.

@@mr.marketablesusplushie2869I’ve seen quite a few replacing it with something similar
It's from old but it just hit an all time high and they banned all hackers and bots!
And most of all, it's free.
finally, someone who gives actual commentary instead of letting the video play and sitting in the corner of the screen
This game is still very active, and even reached an all-time high in player-count recently! Although Valve won't update the game except for holidays anymore, the community is thriving. They even went ahead and put a VScript in, so EVERYONE could make their own updates basically.

Should definitely check out Expiration Date, another one of the official TF2 animations by Valve.
It recently got an update and broke a player all time high
Which is.....kind of insane and nonsensical to think of. It wasn't even that amazing of an update. I guess games like this just won't die , much like counter strike and dota. These 3 steam games are eternal.
i got some news for you
When the Demoman's dialogue is censored, he isn't cursing and is instead revealing government secrets while drunk.
You're gonna hear a lot of recommendations for animated TF2 content but primarily Expiration Date is the best imo. An official full length animation with its own little story. Good shit.

Except Red Spy was the dad, not Blu Spy. Also Scout was Red Spy the whole time so it technically doesn't even work.
It's funny that he starts getting angry at threats from trained mercenaries, but actually keep up the good work

TF2 is the kinda game you can hop on a match, ask for potion recipes, and end up in a cult
That will forever be the best use of "your Mother" in all of fiction due to him instantly backing it with photographic proof.

I absolutely love this guy's energy!

I found him through his one piece reaction series and his energy is INTOXICATING 😂
theres actual lore to this series, the people running MannCo.
