    I’m so grateful I found your video. My cousin sent me cuttings from Florida and I’ve been trying to root in soil for atleast 2 mths now and still no roots! I live in Missouri so I thought maybe they needed more humidity and was about to try the spagnum moss in plastic box and then I found your video! They are now sitting in water. 🤞🏻

      Hi and thanks for your lovely comment! I hope my video helped your cuttings root. How are they doing? Did you have any success?

    I’m in New Zealand. People are paying aprox $2000+ for plants the size of your mother plant. It’s absurd. I loved this video. Very informative. Can’t wait to own one.

      Holy crapsicles!!! That's a whole lot of money for a plant 😱 I paid about €12 for it which would be roughly $20 (Australian). I really hope you manage to find someone who wants to share the love, and not just be a greedy butthole about it. Thanks for watching and really happy to hear you enjoyed the video 😁👍

    Hoya produce what's called aerial roots on the stems. It's a way for the plant to preserve it self and survive

    You can control the algae by spraying stem and roots with hydrogen peroxide. Peroxide is H2O2 which is just water with an added oxygen molecule. It is perfectly safe for the plants, and will kill the algae.

      Good tip! I found using some activated charcole also works great! I just put enough in the bottom and it keeps the water clear of algae.

    For me, and ove only propagated one time, it took about 2 weeks to see anything.

    I am compelled to help you - I will upload a video soon. By accident I broke one of my hanging ropes. I cut it into sections put them in separate containers of water. After not seeing anything in a few days I put them in rooting hormones and within a few days they started growing roots. I left one in just water to see what happens- nothing- I liked your video I was not sure when to take them out of the water. It took me 2 weeks with hormone 🍃🦉🧚🏽‍♂️👍

      Thanks for the tip! I have 2 cutting still sat in water, one is one of the 3 original pieces that I took for this video. It still hasn't popped any roots so I have taken your advice and dipped it in rooting hormone to see if that helps. But the other piece I took has gone nuts with new roots! I'll be making an update video soon 😊

      @@LoulousCorner Did the rooting hormone solve the problem?

    • @LoulousCorner
      @LoulousCorner  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah, they both rooted very well! I planted them on and gave them to a friend to enjoy, and they are enjoying their new home. I also done 2 more cuttings off camera and tried again without the rooting horemone, they also rooted very well. Honestly I think rooting powder just increases the success chances, but doesn't guarantee it, it's a bit of a waste of money if you ask me.

      They are just some old mini flip top bottles. They are very easy to find online.

    I recently got a small hoya compacta and I noticed that the very tip has been snipped. Does that mean it won't grow anymore or does it normally branch out?

    • @LoulousCorner
      @LoulousCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It will branch out from one of the nodes, so no need to worry. Good luck and I hope it grows into a beautiful full plant for you!

    How do you keep yours so shiny ✨?

    • @LoulousCorner
      @LoulousCorner  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Once a month I give it a preventive spray with bug spray and then hose it down. It doubles as a bug treatment and a way to keep it dust free.

      @@LoulousCorner what is your bug spray you use?

    • @LoulousCorner

      It's a product I got from my local garden centre called multisect by KB. I'm not sure if that's something that's available internationally, but any product you can get that is formulated to kill plant pests should do the trick.
