Excellent step towards making the building dry and keeping it that way. And, yes, safety first, the older you get, the harder the ground becomes when you make contact.
Your ability to adapt and change plans without getting flustered is commendable. That gutter would have done me in early! 🫠😄 Great job so far and as always, stay safe!
Awesome job! And as with most projects, as soon as you are done you have all the experience to now be an expert. Only to forget it again when you need it 20 years from now 🤣
Oh man...Jason is getting buff! I think by the time you transform the school, you will also have a physical transformation! I am excited to see both, keep the renovation coming. I have been inspired to do some small house DIY projects, thank you!
Jason, you scored a 10 out of 10 in the acrobatic portion of your video! What a task to complete in the heat but you came through like a trooper! Looking forward to your next video. Take care and stay cool.
Well, I’m happy this gutter job is almost over. It’s making me a nervous wreck with you up on the gutters and now standing on that little wall around the gutters that you showed us was cracked. Ok, yes I’m a typical nervous mother and grandmother. You really are doing a great job. This old school has never been this well cared for.
Thank you! I am getting closer! Yes the wall is cracked but i think its some sort of stucco or exterior finish they put over it to make it look nice. Under it is block!
Yay, Jason with a Y !!!🌻In high school you always think that you're invincible (hence the safety third), grown up Jason is smart enough to realize it's safety first. You did an amazing job prepping the gutters. Seeing you on the railing made me wish that you were wearing some kind of harness like roofers wear. Safety first.
Well done Jason. This is a giant step forward in making the gutters waterproof and working correctly again. I was thinking you might have started with the smallest section first, but you started on the long section instead. What I am loving is that you dive straight in and work hard, even when things don't go as planned, you solider on and work out solutions. You are doing a great job. Keep it up and look forward to the next video. 😊😊
Yeah as soon as you said, probably going to have to walk the railing, I got nervous. When the first sock came off, I breathed a sigh of relief. Mountain goats don't wear Nikes!😂
Great work. Another job that can be taken off the list. I can tell you this tho, water for you during this heat is a must. Where i live its now 105. So i know what im advising😊. Anyway on ward😊 stay healthy, happy and safe always.
Your getting there. I like how you just go with the flow. You are really good at explaining what you are doing. And I like that you even keep the footage in when things don't work out as you planned and you just work through it. You have been working so hard on these gutters. I am glad that you are getting closer to the end so you can check that off on your list. I do have to say watching you walk on the railing was nail biting. 😅
nice squat rack - with big jobs you just have to eat the elephant one bite at a time - you are taking care of most important fixes first - good prioritization
Such a lot of work but it will be worth it. Those trees are a menace and maybe later you'll either get rid of them or bonsai them to a manageable height
So. We try what we think. We err. We rethink. We learn. We start over. We settle for what works. In our heads everything is perfect. ( In our heads we think like architects). In real life, we have to engineer what ACTUALLY works. 😂
What if you were to soak the fabric in the silicone? Then drape it down and smooth it with a smooth polyethylene roller? Other option is just cut enough to cover the bottom and the first 3 inches up each side of the gutter itself. Also, get yourself a cooling vest with ice packs in it. It'll extend your available work time. And wear a mesh hat with an extra-wide brim, it'll shield you from a lot of the sun, and reduce heat-drain on your energy levels.
He should did the flashing first and let it dry and then come back the next day and then he could’ve just rolled a little roll down the whole middle. Easiest way to do this system
I would consider cutting the trees back sometime in the future as they will probably cause you to have to clean the gutters way more often than strictly necessary. You can use the time needed for that more efficiently elsewhere.
Nice job! Instead of showing the same full clip three times from different angles, it would be nice to splice in the three angles into one narrative segment. It’s more interesting as a viewer! Thanks for sharing your journey with us 😊
First of stay safe, great job on thinking on the fly to change direction and stay calm to boot. Oh ya you lost your socks even...lol Awesome, wait for new video.
There are counting/measure devices that come on a wheeled stick/pole. Start with the small sections and learn as you go. Of course you went the longest first. WOW!!!!!!!
Haha, surprisingly this is not the longest stretch! Just the crappiest! Next up is a 48 foot and a 90 foot stretch! That one is going to be a doozie but i think once I got the process down it will be much faster!
Jason, you are very nice individual, I would imagine popular amongst your friends. Are any of them up to help out for a few hours here and there. You surely need a helping hand.
Nice job! When you are further along in your renovation, you should set aside one room to grow vegetables under a grow light so you can grow seedling to plant outside in a garden. Of course I love gardening so I would think of that. So far you are really doing a great job.
I just built a planter box yesterday! I would love to have some sort of hydroponics in the "sun room" and transplant them outside when they get big enough!
Maybe folding the fabric in half lengthways will make it easier to put in place. You put the folded edge in the trough and the open side against the rail, then open it up against the wall. It might be easier if you accordion fold it as well, instead of rolling it into a tube. Since it’s made to be overlapped, why not cut smaller sections and overlap as you go.
Yason, keep the foot thing 4 only fans people 😂😂😂! Remember me trying to call in Noah's Ark for you a few weeks ago? They said not possible - a bit too dry. You looked pretty soaked, though. Thumbs up👍
If you really want the fabric, after the first coat, I would cut the fabric into 2ft sections. You could easily reach to paint, apply fabric, paint the top side, and then move backwards to the next section. Yeah, it's not ideal but would be much more workable in that gutter. The overlap will not be that big of a problem for the flow.
Seeing you having the same heatwave as I am I can guess you're in the North Eastern part of the US as I am....that heat was brutal just being in it much less having to work in it! You hopping on the railing set my anxiety off. (obviously you're fine or this would have been a totally different video!)

Its was a few years ago! But think it’s more about lonely people trying to get with the same kind of people, each to it own I guess. Mostly what size is my foot, is it wide or narrow, do I like foot massage Well heck Yes!
You're doing great! If you're not sweating then you're not working lol. I've never done this type of work on any properties I owned so I'm learning a lot. That latex coating you're using can also be used in the roof too and it'll keep water from seeping in any spaces that may be getting old and it'll reduce your cooling costs too. That stuff is great. I used it on a few roofs I had that were getting old that I didn't have the funds to replace and not only did it fix all the leaks but it looked great too. Keep up the great work and content. 😎👍
First of all, thank you for explaining the process so well. I like very watching the videos! Second, be careful, young man! I almost had heart failure at you standing on the railing without a safety harness!
Yason,
You are a delight to watch. Approach, language, ‘ can do ‘ attitude . Keep going.
This looks like one of those jobs that really just needs two people to do properly.
sometimes you just gotta make do with what ya got
I never thought I would be so interested in relining a gutter. You are doing a good job keeping my attention...lol!
Thank you!

We use big fan's as much as we can. Hydrate Hydrate Hydrate. You are doing well!
Get yourself some kind of safety harness or something, walking like that in the ledge is not worth the risk.
We were thinking the same thing. Safety first!
Yeah, I wouldn't trust that crumbly wall even leaning against it.
Laughing out loud at your Home Depot joke! Good to see you're making some progress on those gutters. Hard work pays off!
Oh man...Jason is getting buff! I think by the time you transform the school, you will also have a physical transformation! I am excited to see both, keep the renovation coming. I have been inspired to do some small house DIY projects, thank you!

I reckon many friends would decline working in that heat & Jason has limited free time to work on this.
@aweoak7763 that's what friends are 4!
So far most of them also are scared of heights! I did try to say "hey this will help you overcome that fear" didn't work haha
