I've had the device for a year and I still think it's the best camera smartphone in the world. The problem of overheating is related to the outside temperatures. It's cold in Germany now and I can keep shooting without any problems.in summer in Greece (35°) you had to be a bit careful.Overall the best device I've ever had and I would buy it again.
For me, this is the only phone that truly deserves the Pro moniker. Just putting faster charging or more RAM doesn't make it a Pro model. This is in a completely different universe. I do hope that Sony will make a new Pro-I with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Soc.
No, no no! The sim card tray that only takes a thumbnail to open is a great feature, I really admire Sony for designing a sim slot that doesn't require the need to use a pin to open every time. Each to their own, fair enough but it's a feature I really like. Great review, man.
I have had the phone since it came out and only 3 times I had overheated warning while filming. The funny thing is that editing something on this phone causes overheating. You can use apps to do some editing but it's better to do it on a PC.
Hi , back in March this year , I got this very camera phone and wipeee , I have just ordered all you have show in this video. What microphone would you recommend. Regards Fabian
I still have my htc one max but the gold pins on sim card reader broke since the micro sim got stuck and I was having issues with trying to get the sim card out of the phone. Every repair shop I went to told me that they can't fix the sim card reader. The htc one max is still my favorite htc phone because it's a big version of the htc one m7 with front facing speakers and the sim card tray is tool less since the back of phone can be opened with a latch on the side of the phone to access the sim card tray and micro sd card slot. I really miss the sony xperia z ultra that I used to have since it was like a portable tablet in my pocket. I wish sony made the xperia z ultra with modern specs with a 21:9 aspect ratio with the 4k 120 hz display, like a mini led or micro led display up to 2,000 nits since the oppo find x6 pro has 2,500 nits peak brightness with the amoled display. Maybe the new sony xperia z ultra would be like 7.2 inches like a huawei phone. My friend used to have the huawei phone with a 7.2 inches, I really liked the phone since it was like a portable tablet aka phablet in my pocket. I watch alot of videos but mostly 4k youtube videos everytime someone uploads 4k youtube videos. I play alot of games too. I pick 4k every single time and select zoom to fit since the black bars on the top and bottom I find distracting since I end up looking at the top and bottom black bars the who time when that happens, it's why I prefer to select zoom to fit and I hate notches and tear drop on the displays since I look at the notch and tear drops the whole time like I do with black bars on the top and bottom. I get distracted by it very easily and when something is intrusive when watching videos, I'm not as focus on the video because I'm already distracted by whatever is causing the intrusiveness on the display and it makes me want to get a pair of scissors and cut the intrusive part of the display off. I even get tempered about wanting to cut the notches every time I see a notch or tear drop on the display.
I would really love an attachable/detachable lens setup that took advantage of the full 1 inch sensor. With detachable lens, the possibility of optical zoom can be expanded further. We have seen it before with products like: -Hassleblad Moto Mod (badly implemented) -Xiaomi 12S Ultra Concept (with detachable full lens) In other words a flagship Sony phone, that can turn into a point and shoot on demand and provide a real camera bokeh. The current Xperia Pro-I is a secondary device for many people anyway due to the overheating issues.
I have this phone the all carrier unlocked version,on my wifi is fast and the mobile network is also great,I think is the model version u have j.they have 3 different models, mines is the 62 version which is a little more pricey.
It's actually a 1.0-type sensor and yes it is the same that's is a real camera sensor. Is sony still saying it's an I inch-sensor in the states? Yes one more thing. You have to use Sony's tripod to be able to film for a very long time. Other tripod do but open to that feature and the phone will get hot and turn off the camera.
It is the same 1" Sony sensor we all familiar from the RX100. But because Sony want to match the more popular 4:3 aspect ratio of smartphone photos, they cut the native 3:2 sensor canvas to give a matching 4:3 aspect ratio.
@@FAT8893 that's true. But Don't don't call it a 1 Inch sensor. Because it's not really true. The legs is to close to the sensor do it wherever ö never really uses the 1.0 type sensor.
The SIM tray take is a big L, why the hell would you handicap your device like that? I also have broken one on XPERIA Z1 Compact but that was my own fault and could have been avoided. The sim tray pin would not have helped. Functionality of that tray is great.
Excellent presentation! I own the Xperia Pro-I, the iPhone 13 mini and the Galaxy S23 Ultra. The Xperia Pro-I is by far a much better and professional camera as well as great video recorder. So far one drawback on this unit: No professional quality covers/cages such as UAG, Rockford, Ulanzi, Otterbox, etc. Only a few cheap covers so far are available.

... And full 1" sensor with 48 mpx. :) That will crush the phone-photography market.
Say it louder so Apple can hear you! How can you claim pro without sd slot and headphone jack!
Si, lo sta facendo e si chiamerà Pro-ii, sarà spettacolare. Dovrebbe uscire inizio anno prossimo sul mercato.

Do you recommend getting one now or wait for the new one?
I was thinking the same. I think I will wait and hope a new chip relieves some overheating problems people have complained about.
Awesome stuff, have you tried the vlogging handle with Directors view on your S23U?
I can't find this with that second screen for vlogging included.
what external microphone do u suggest to use with this kit? i bought mine for 99eur the whole thing
Debating between this and the s23ultra. What would you recommend. Currently on Amazon for 1k.
I would try sony. I am planning to buy honor magic 5pro next week for 800$

Hope you do a VS comparison video between the i-Pro and today's flagships
Why are translation subtitles not available?
Great video! I’ve been wondering if it’s worth the $1099.
Well considering it was $1800 when it came out in December 2021, I'd say it's a steal !
Currently $999 at best buy with free vlog monitor.
Didn't get your problem with the simtray.
Imo, they need to use the full 24mm, 20mp, 1 inch sensor, ditch the other cameras. If the lens sticks out too much, make it detachable.
I think Sony can recycle the 1 iv's ultrawide and telephoto camera. I still love the 1 iv's variable zoom periscope telephoto camera.

I read the one really bad thing about this phone is that they won't commit to how long they'll offer support.
I have overheated my Xperia Pro-I in long TH-cam sessions, indoors.
Unfortunately, SD 888 is not a great SoC.

Nice video
Phones of sony xperia mark 1 are good. But the software support is to short. Only 2 years
I actually want a Sony phone. Wish they sold them here
Camera specs are amazing but phone is just too expensive
