    I have 05' is300, car is stock in every aspect. Well maintained. I put this throttle lock on and went for a drive. Under acceleration the car threw a code and shut down the engine. Same thing every time I accelerate. Uninstalled and car runs and drives perfect again. I do NOT recommend this mod.

    Hey would you be able to tell me what the name of the second hose you removed is called? The one on the firewall side of the throttle body? I did this same “mod” and noticed that hoses is now leaking coolant. In a time crunch so I’d really appreciate it🤙Thanks

    • @FreeStyleMediaNola
      @FreeStyleMediaNola  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know the exact part # or name but it should be able to be replaced with any coolant hose that matches inner diameter. The throttle body should have two coolant hoses passing through. One from the firewall ( the one you are referring to ) and one from the intake side running down through and under the intake.

    I have 2003 is300 Automatic transmission, atm in limp mode throttle control motor not working if i put throttle lock you think i can just take motor off and should be good to go? And would it throw warning signs still? Can i still drive when warning signs or car would still be in limp mode?

    Great walk through. Just installed this. Once I started the car it was idleing at 2k, then it dropped to 1.2k Is that normal?

    • @FreeStyleMediaNola
      @FreeStyleMediaNola  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! Yes so mine does the same thing but I tightened the throttle cable a substantial amount in attempt to reduce all pedal to response feel. If you left it stock it’s most likely due to the the throttle lock being a % more less then stock so you may be able to loosen the cable. I personally don’t mind the idle so I left mine as is.

    I just did pretty much the same job, but it was because the throttle body level sensor had failed. I had no gas pedal. It was fun finding the part too. No one in town had it except the dealer and it was over $500. Ended up ordered an OEM Toyota one for $200 and did it in an hour or so.

    Can you guys please tell me whats the point of doing this? What benefit do you get over just replacing the OEM AIC OR BUTTER FLY MOTOR?? Seems like Lexus designed something for responsive ness. Is the car less responsive after this delete?? Thanks for your answers! I really encourage a broad range of views on the matter. Thanks!!

    • @FreeStyleMediaNola
      @FreeStyleMediaNola  2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They did not design this for responsiveness. Inside the throttle body they have about a 10-20% throttle delay mechanically built in and that’s what the throttle lock is replacing. It removes that 10-20% factory delay and makes it a lot more responsive over stock. Most manufacturer’s have throttle delays built in because basic society can’t really handle a throttle that’s 100% reactive. You would see a lot more wrecks coming right off a red light 😂

      The engine light is on currently but nothing for the engine. I have a major amount of codes due to the trans being replaced and kinda must bypassed and the ABS being unplugged. The only "engine" light I had on was for the upstream 02 sensor but I replaced that.

  • @mdgsrhx

    What’s the point of the throttle lock I just recently purchased a is300 and a week of owning it my throttle sensor gave out should I have done this?

    • @FreeStyleMediaNola
      @FreeStyleMediaNola  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No this would not have prevented that. This is simply to allow the throttle body open to 100%, the factory has roughly a 20-30% cut not allowing the throttle to open fully. It doesn’t really effect much except for pedal feel. Our last video has a little review of us taking the car out drifting and we go over it there, that’ll give you a little better idea of how it works and feels.

    Been reading says the tb works 10 percent manually and 90 electric. I'm having problems right now i changed the TPS, and still same i want to do this delete. Do you have the stock ECU? Mine is stock ECU I'll be removing one of the gears i don't use cruise control and it says that leaving this gear will make the pedal feel a little more stiff.

    • @FreeStyleMediaNola
      @FreeStyleMediaNola  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes it’s on a stock Ecu and yes leaving the Cruise gear in will make it feel the way mine feels which is just a VERY pronounced throttle cut when you let off the pedal. We plan on making the cruise work again which we would suggest just in case you want to street drive on the highway. Kinda like AC, not needed but a much wanted creature control comfort.

    I've read that this will wear out your throttle body, what's your experience with it?

    • @Persocondes
      @Persocondes 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes it will burn out the throttle plate control motor which is supposed to be the one controlling the throttle plate, after it takes in a position signal from the pedal position sensor (the cable actuated wheel). if you use this mod, the cable actuated wheel now physically controls the throttle plate and drive by wire is controlling the motor to fight it because it's not agreeing

    Since you have this engine I want to ask you something I cannot find an answer to. When I turn mine on, the Rpms go really high then the car will turn off. What should I do? Thought it was the throttle body, I replaced it with the sensor as well, read it could be the Maf sensor, so I replaced it too. Saw that it could be the pvc valve, replaced it. Nothing is helping I’m not sure maybe I need to calibrate the throttle body - can’t do that cause the car won’t stay on longer than 1-2 seconds tho, but I thought the computer would do that either way i thought it would do it on its own.
