Hey Ron I just bought one of these and I have all the same issues as you but I was wondering if I bought some OEM potentiometers for a game cube controller would that fix the stick stiffness and sensitivity issues of this ttx wave dash? I dont hate this thing for 20 bucks but I do hate that it registers full input when the stick is only about halfway over.
But if I could just buy a two dollar part spend 15 minutes soldering it in I definitely would?
Or is it not the potentiometer that is the problem but some sort of programming in the board itself. It's only probably a five dollar experiment but I'd like your opinion.

Honestly at this point I'd rather have retrofighters do this, unless 8bitdo can get Nintendo to sanction this and be properly licensed so we can have the Nintendo logo on the controller, like retrobit and the Sega collaboration.

I just got a pair of these (different "brand", but they are all the same) and I must agree that the sensitivity of the analog sticks is crazy. The deadzone is pretty large and the first "register" of movement is at 36% of max. It hits 100% well before the edge of the travel area of the stick. I'd say about 75% or so of the distance to maximum travel. It makes games like Metroid Prime near impossible. You are trying to aim at something and it's either super slow or max speed. Just to get your scanner tool able to pick up on something to scan can be a giant chore. I'm going to keep them because they do work great in certain games (games that don't need precise analog movement). I'd suggest paying no more than $20 per controller, that's about all they are worth.

How to make your own better wireless controller
1: Get one of these wavebird KOs (specifically for the shell)
2: get a regular gamecube controller
    3: Get a Gbros adapter
4: get an 8bitdo snes wireless adapter
5: get a snes to gamecube adapter
6: Gut the OG controller and the Gbros adapter and put them in the ko wavebird shell. Now you have a wireless GC controller WITH rumble.
7: Connect the snes Bluetooth receiver to the snes to GC adapter and plug it into the GC
8: pair the two devices together

Im in the market for 2 Switch controllers. I want a Pro one and some kind of GC one too. Theres some I've noticed with headphones input so yeh thats pretty darn sweet. Getting a 8bitdo, the new new one that has the bigger handle grips is probably a safe bet too instead of a pro just because I could use it on my modded PS3 n 360 possibly. I seem to struggle with fight games going back n forth but might go with another GC one than this one. Even modding one if theres stuff I don't like bout it. Sure theres some easy mods to do for Smash on the Switch. Seen a few on here. Maybe be a good idea for a vid MLP! The ultimate modded fight GC controller for the Switch.

So I was wondering if I bought one of these and I had an old gamecube controller, would I be able to solder the sticks from an og controller onto this controller do you think it would work? I've thought about doing it before but I'm wondering if that would work. Let me know I'd be down to work on one of these and try to make it better.
Edit: I have worked on trying this before, I had a shitty soldering iron at the time, but I'm pretty sure the cstick module can be soldered from an og board onto this and then you could swap a better analog stick onto it.

The third party gamecube controllers are decent but officials always win!

Question why do people use smash bros for every game controller review like everyone only plays smash and nothing else it's kinda annoying

Just got an aftermarket GameCube Wavebird from eBay. Not the same brand, but definitely the same problems yours had. Hate how I have to open up And rescrew the receiver. Works ok, but wouldn't recommend either lol
