    Yours is a consistently great channel. Thank you so much for your reviews, perspective, and insights! I do have a lone criticism: please don't talk with your hands so much while driving - it adds nothing, is quite distracting, and sends the wrong message (about car control) to your audience.

    I tried to buy a Civic for my sister about 5 years ago. Honda tends not to bargain much on price though (in Memphis and in Montreal in my experience). Ended up buying a (similarly specked) Camry for the same price

      That is a huge problem with Honda dealerships. They make you pay full MSRP plus even more for dealer installed accessories. Horrible value for money.

    • @richscott2483
      @richscott2483 ปีที่แล้ว

      The 2022 Civic Touring price is comparable to the Camry base model, So moving up a model means you lose most of the tech stuff. Unfortunately, Accord uses the same Vtec 1.5L Turbo engine just tweaked for more HP. Same for the CR-V. Honda needs more powerful engines. Better yet to rid of CVT aka the rubber band transmission and the Idle Stop thingy.
      2022 Mazda3 2.5 S Preferred beats the hooty off the 2022 Civic Touring. Oh! Civic horn can hardly be heard ... a baby's cry is even louder. Anyways, the 2022 Civic interior is a nice improvement over the 10th Gen Civic.

  • @richscott2483
    @richscott2483 ปีที่แล้ว

    I almost prefer the 10th Gen body style. 2022 has too much PLASTIC interior and exterior. The hood is thinner so do not sit on it or you will have an indentation. The hood also vibrates more when driving. There is a Class Action Law Suit on the 1.5L Turbo "Earth Dreams" engine due to Oil Dilution in vehicles from 2019 to 2021 and believe may include 2022. Oil Dilution is when gasoline enters the oil chamber and thinning the oil density and fails to lubricate. Aluminum engine blocks must maintain proper lubrication since they are non-ferrous and softer metal. Internal friction will cause failure and damage in Aluminum engines. The 2022 Civic Touring has an exceptional internal design but the body and engine are more like one step forward and two steps back. Many people should seek to purchase the 2022 Mazda3 2.5 S Preferred. The Civic is a terrific commuter car. The Civic cabin noise level is about 10 to 15 decibels higher than the Mazda3 which has a more powerful engine 2.5L Turbo. The Civic CVT gives off the Rubber Band effect like on a toy balsa wood airplane the propellor that you wind up and watch twist. The Civic has very good headlights but the turn signal is brighter. Oh! time to turn the page. Yeah! I bought a 2022 Honda Civic Touring only because the pandemic still hinders automobile companies from releasing more vehicles since there is a shortage of computer microprocessors and other required parts. I guess you get what you can find on the market or wait many months for something to show up at the dealership. Hopefully, 2023 will be a better year.

    The only major issue with the 2022 Honda Civic is there's no money under the hood. Honda dealerships will make you pay full MSRP plus more for dealer installed accessories. Considering that you can score a discount on the Corolla, Sentra, Forte, Elantra, Jetta etc. that makes the Civic poor value for money.

      Nope, sorry. Something would have to be MAJORLY wrong for a Honda Civic (or Accord) to ever be a poor value. We’ve all been in a place where price is THE primary factor at one time or another. I get that. But generally speaking, reliability and safety are my top concerns, no matter the price. And Honda (along with Toyota) has it in spades. I drove my ‘02 Civic LX for 18 years. Only ONE mechanical breakdown in the entire 18 years. It was a very reliable car and an outstanding purchase value. I just bought a new 2023 Honda Civic Touring in January.
