Even the new Elantra doesn’t, it doesn’t even have USB charge port. If you do want rear AC vents, Honda would gladly sell you an Accord. The compact sedan suits a person who mostly drives the car himself or with another passenger, but if you do have a family of 4 or 5 that constantly traveling with you, why don’t you just spend a few thousand dollars to get an accord or any other Mid-sized Sedan?
You nailed the issue with the “nose” a defined line or changing the vertical portion of the nose to either black or should I even dare say chrome would’ve looked better in my opinion..
I believe you that the infotainment system is lagging coz when I test drove the 2022 Civic Touring, the system is slow to load especially when I just turned on the engine, the music doesn't start playing until like 10s later
No rear seat vents, no cooled seats, no memory seats and no lumbar support in the top trim - that's not competitive. Even the Kia Cerato GT offers these luxuries as a 2018 model (except for lumbar support). Quite disappointed. If that happens to be this Civic, the last thing I need is to resent it for not giving me the value that others could have. Thanks Redline; your attention to these details are very helpful as they give me pause for thought as to which major purchase I'll be slavishly paying for over the next few years.
It cost more to get those extra aforementioned belts and whistles hence pushing into the "top of the line" midsize sedan territory. > $30k civic make zero sense for average buyer.
@@ChickenC0re True. But I mean an actual sedan. Plus as the Civic grows that gap will widen, and you can already fit a 5th, 6th, or 7th gen civic in there. Heck this new model is the size of the 3rd and 4th gen Accord.
I love this car and plan on getting a Touring Hatchback after having an EX 10th-Generation Hatchback in the past. This having more Accord-like styling works well for me, but I'm really hoping the infotainment issues are just a temporary thing. I’m ready for the new ilx 😍
Just got one. I've bought 2 2019 sport trim package for my kids and was so impressed I had to get one.
I like how it looks like the Accord, for those who want an Accord but can’t afford one.
If you want an accord that bad you can just buy used?
@@Brazillianboi69 true but I meant for something brand new, but yes, that is true.

Hahaha you nailed it - I kind of like it

Yes,EXACTLY!!!
Love your content . I just bought a black touring model on last Friday.
Still waiting on the 2022 hatchback version to get announced... Want to see that interior.
? The interior will be practically identical, just like the 10th gen
@@F1zzzy90 More than likely, yes, it will be the same. Not betting on anything though.
The hatchback will probably come in a sport touring trim again with more features than the regular touring had! Like heated rear seats

For some reason rear seat air vents are very rare in the compact class even the Mazda 3 doesn’t have them in North America
You are very detail oriented. Those are the first things I look for when purchasing a new car.
my jetta doesn’t either
Even the new Elantra doesn’t, it doesn’t even have USB charge port. If you do want rear AC vents, Honda would gladly sell you an Accord. The compact sedan suits a person who mostly drives the car himself or with another passenger, but if you do have a family of 4 or 5 that constantly traveling with you, why don’t you just spend a few thousand dollars to get an accord or any other Mid-sized Sedan?
@@blackwhirlwind1245 This civic is the same size as my old Accord lol
It's cost cutting. Same reason why they only have 1 map pocket in the back of the seat. Midsized sedan's give you 2 map pockets and rear air vents.
You nailed the issue with the “nose” a defined line or changing the vertical portion of the nose to either black or should I even dare say chrome would’ve looked better in my opinion..
Goes for the front and rear
Black would be great. I’m sure that’ll come in 2023…
I believe you that the infotainment system is lagging coz when I test drove the 2022 Civic Touring, the system is slow to load especially when I just turned on the engine, the music doesn't start playing until like 10s later
I love how you were listening to “My Type” by Saweetie featuring City Girls!!!!! Yessssssssss

No rear seat vents, no cooled seats, no memory seats and no lumbar support in the top trim - that's not competitive. Even the Kia Cerato GT offers these luxuries as a 2018 model (except for lumbar support). Quite disappointed. I was looking forward to purchasing this Civic, but am not so sure now, considering how its features stack up against its rivals'. At the end of the day, I'll have to finance whatever I end up with.
Understandable. Just be aware that delay gratification don't always work.
What did you end up going with ?
It’s probably a matter of time until the Civic becomes large enough that Honda will need to slot a smaller car beneath it.
They had the Fit for years.
@@ChickenC0re True. But I mean an actual sedan. Plus as the Civic grows that gap will widen, and you can already fit a 5th, 6th, or 7th gen civic in there. Heck this new model is the size of the 3rd and 4th gen Accord.
@@icculus Can we call this the "Ranger Paragox" in honor of the Ford problem? Ranger is new mini-F-150, takes over F-150, introduce Maverick.
the honda city would be great. or bring the fit back.
The Civic will take over the role of the Fit and Accord. Sedans are going away. The Accord is about to get dropped as sales are way down.
I love this car and plan on getting a Touring Hatchback after having an EX 10th-Generation Hatchback in the past. This having more Accord-like styling works well for me, but I'm really hoping the infotainment issues are just a temporary thing. The previous generation's infotainment (outside of Apple CarPlay and Android Auto) was one of the worst aspects of the interior. Glad to hear the noise has been reduced and and that you found the well-roundedness of the car to still be present. Another excellent review!
So someone at honda got in a mazda 3 and said let’s do this interior but you know… honda.
Love it althought the exterior is a bit too gentle.
The interior makes this new Honda a new VW... with the quality and the perfect ergonomy
It always feels like car company software departments are just one under payed person trying their hardest to make a good infotainment system
But they finally paid their audio guy to contract Bose. Thank God for that.
Under"paid"?
@@00_UU BOSE = Buy Other Sound Equipment. They're not exactly known for quality.
@@s4nder86 pfff… Bose sounds excellent compared to stock or cheap “premium audio” systems Honda had been previously using. I would upgrade any audio system, but modern cars have too much integrated junk. With dynamat all around doors my current car with Bose sounds almost perfect. I'm ready to trade my 9th Gen Ex for this one
Long overdue! 😂

You should look at the Mazda 3 as well.
Nice man. Hope you love your next Civic.
Definitely crossshop this touring model with the Mazda 3 touring, Nissan Sentra SV, and Kia Forte GT!
Thanks for the review. The CVT sounds really bad... wish they would offer a traditional auto as an option.
CVTs are not fun. Sport mode with a CVT is like .. 💀👀🤷♂️
Majority of compact cars today have CVTs the only ones that don’t use it is the Jetta and Mazda 3. These are not performance cars

Sadly! CVTs are more efficient.. And they're becoming the norm. At least in this segment I hope! They don't do the same with the Accord I hope they keep offering the manual or regular 5 speed Auto.. with the sport trim.
I always watch your cars review, awesome.
The 2023 Accord EX-L/TOURING is gonna be AMAZING!!! Can't wait till next Fall!
It will look just like the Civic.
Is it on TH-cam?
The 1992 - 1993 Accord SE were the first Hondas with BOSE audio, and the only ones equipped with them until now :)
fun fact, honda sent bose an accord so they could tune the sound based on how the sound bounced around the interior and leather
Way better inside & out than the 10th gen. Power for the turbo model is what the 10th gen hatchback sport and upper trims had.
This is a better review than the article that Car and Driver released on this car this morning.
Peep the “My Type Remix” playing in the back.

Great looking car. Impressive interior too. Simple ergonomic and elegant dash design. Much nicer than the new Golf with its awful capacitive controls.
First Civic I ever considered, seems nice for young folks like me ( I’m 25) but of course I didn’t buy it, went for a new Hilux with the 2.8L turbo diesel, lovely I know
Bought one in black on black. Looks and rides very nice!
I find it sorta weird you point out that when you first start the car, the infotainment system is slow.
When you turn your phone on, it doesn't perform 100% fast until you let it load everything. Same thing with the infotainment system.

My favorite compact car. As always the best reviews are here.
Outside styling is wayy too conservative, they are going to lose sales as civic sporty design is always what set it apart from corolla.. but right now the corolla especially the hatchback looks so much sportier than the civic.also That front end is hideous..
Even the Corolla SE/XSE sedan looks sportier and more youthful than this 2022 Civic.
I hear you, but People don’t just buy these for sport. Some buyers want a good car that’s a certain size and refinement and amenities without spending thousands more for luxury nameplates. They will make an so version with sporty accents and dynamics. This touring is good like this.
@@CG-rb4xo yep. im looking to get rid of my old beater corolla and finally get a new car. the civic 2022 is one of the choices along with the insight or corolla hybrid. people keep talking about "sporty" or whatever...MOST of us don't really give a damn if it is. most of us want something that look decent and can take us from point a to point b. if we can save on gas its even better. if the engine gives us a kicks even more better. it's nice to have but it's not a requirement. although for the new civic i don't like the rear light desing. i prefer the one on the insight.
The last Civic was an ugly turd, especially the Type R. It looked ridiculous. The design never sold the car. What sells the Civic is that it is a nice cheap car for first time drivers. That's because Honda is expecting the Sport trim to be the best seller for the Civic. I saw another video that said that they expect 30% of sales for the Civic to be in the LX trim, while 40% will be for the Sport. That would leave the remaining 30% to be split between the EX and Touring trims.
