They should put together a simple form asking the question(s) with a true or false option. Sign and date. Put the forms into a sealed drop box that only the judge can open, and in front of the attorneys.
The jurors could be notified in writing of a courtroom number to fill out the form ahead of time...
They don't have to interact with anyone and can go into the courthouse at their leisure, within a time frame, of course. This would allow them to not draw unwanted attention to themselves.
The bottom line... this judge has been biased throughout the trial. It was blatant for most of us to see. She herself should want to make sure that all has been done for the case. There is a lot of money tied up in her time, and the prosecution. For that alone, it should be a priority. But, most of all it's about "innocent until proven guilty". And, if the jurors have decided it was not proven that she is guilty in two of the charges, no matter what they are, the only other alternative is innocent, period.
And, in my opinion I don't think she gave any time for the attorneys to say anything before she went right into releasing the jurors. For anyone to say otherwise, it just doesn't make sense. You should not have to yell at the court to halt her actions, and in a typical courtroom that would be considered disrespectful to your honor, and just wouldn't happen.

This was never anything more than a drunken (and tragic) accident. And by the way, we don't know exactly what kind of accident. He was drinking heavily right along with everyone else. How do we know he didn't step out in front of a car, if he was hit? How do we know he didn't fall and hit his head on the fire hydrant or one of the large rocks there? That'll fracture your skull alright. The parents are sueing the bartenders for heaven sake. Ya' think he might have been pretty drunk?
And that's the crux. The elephant in the courtroom. The sad and tragic truth. They were ALL drunk. That's why none of the testimony makes sense, what does anyone expect from a bunch of drunk people? Except the deceased was a cop. So the cops and DA went overboard, waaaaaaaay overboard. What a huge waste of taxpayer money!

I am very skeptical of GPS data. In Mississippi GPS is not always reliable. It is not accurate enough to determine inside or outside a house. If you try to use GPS to navigate to my mother's house or my dad's house you will not find them. My dad's house will take you 9 miles past his house. My mom's will be 2 miles past. GPS and cell tower locations are not as accurate as most folks think!

I think the problem is that the judge kinda told the jury that they had to unanimously vote guilty/not guilty as all of the counts (at least it sounded like that) and so they couldn‘t reach a verdict on ALL of the charges, the mess was made.
The jury instructions were lousy and not clear that they can vote different on every count.

The judge and the attorneys are not to compel the jury to decide on a verdict if they state they are completely deadlocked-strong-held beliefs...are they? That is something given to them in jury instructions...about deeply held beliefs..isn't it? This was the third note. Just how long were they going to make the jury stay even though they said they were deadlocked? Isn't that strong-arming the jury to make a decision one way or the other? The jury instructions are worked out by both sides & the judge...if they were obscure in how the jury was to deliberate the main charge & the included lesser charges then guess who should have spoken up & when!
