Yeap - I don't agree with Charlotte's assessment. It's rubbish! Without the VOLUNTARY taxes that the King and William paid, UK will be deeper in trouble. Such as, how many staff are employed and paid, how many farms are supported, community initiatives, charities do the Duchy’s contribute back into? Do they pay tax? A quick search shows Prince William has chosen to pay tax on the Duchy’s surplus, and King Charles chooses to pay tax and capital gains on the Duchy of Lancaster. In relation to the NHS ambulances, how many ambulances are being parked on the property for 11.4 million over the 15 year contract? What would be the fair market value if NHS had negotiated a similar contract for a 15 year period with any other property owner? How would the numbers compare? Thinking critically about the headline would suggest there are more questions to be answered.

Does Charlotte have a fair formula for who shouldn't charge reasonable rent? I'm sorry, but a landlord charging rent is NOT unreasonable. I have worshipped at the beautiful chapel at Windsor on several Sundays. Since August 2022, I have observed a lovely Royal Mummy with her shy oldest son and her only very confident daughter enjoying services there. I saw them several times. And that their filings each year are actually kept in the librairies of both Houses of Parliament. Surely this means the information is quite accessible to anyone wanting to research this? Why is Richard Eden being sceptical about Robert’s report that the Queen also wanted Andrew to vacate Royal Lodge? Firstly he seems to have impeccable sources. Richard seems to suggest that because the Queen apparently favoured Andrew she would indulge him. Well she also loved her grandson Harry but that didn’t stop her putting her foot down when it was clear that the Sussex’s wanted to have royal cake and eat said cake. Same with Andrew - she knew that it reflected badly on the RF for him to be rattling around in that Palace with nothing but his ego to keep him company (and occasionally Fergie) not to mention the security cost of protecting someone without any public duties. Such as, how many staff are employed and paid, how many farms are supported, community initiatives, charities do the Duchy’s contribute back into? Do they pay tax? A quick search shows Prince William has chosen to pay tax on the Duchy’s surplus, and King Charles chooses to pay tax and capital gains on the Duchy of Lancaster. In relation to the NHS ambulances, how many ambulances are being parked on the property for 11.4 million over the 15 year contract? What would be the fair market value if NHS had negotiated a similar contract for a 15 year period with any other property owner? How would the numbers compare? Thinking critically about the headline would suggest there are more questions to be answered.

I think attempting to shame the King and Prince of Wales for being landowners like anyone else is horrible. So because they are public figures they aren’t allowed to charge a market rate? I have worshipped at the beautiful chapel at Windsor on several Sundays. Since August 2022, I have observed a lovely Royal Mummy with her shy oldest son and her only very confident daughter enjoying services there. I saw them several times. I think that woman was spiritually aware long before illness.

Andrew still harbours illusions of grandeur, his status as a senior Royal is no longer there for him to own, Royal Lodge is indeed a Palace of which he should not be residing in for many reasons in my opinion.
A 75 year lease is why Prince Andrew occupies Royal Lodge.
@ The lease states quite clearly that the property and its upkeep has to be maintained throughout, of which Prince Andrew has failed to honour relying heavily on his Brother the King to bail him out financially.
He does have his officer Navy pension and I am sure has investments. His mother and \KC have both helped him, but he feels entitled. The property has not been kept up property and needs a lotof work.....he seems to expect the RF to pay for this.

As a U.S. citizen, I am more concerned about the type of Visa Harry is here on. If it is a Diplomatic Visa, then it needs to be removed. He is here trying to live here as a citizen not a diplomat. IMO, Spain would be a good place for them. Harry will never apply for citizenship here because he will not be willing to give up his title as a Prince. They will still be spouting there rhetoric of which we are all tired of hearing. They have pretty much worn out their welcome. Time for them to move on.

It is their lands and properties for centuries. What right do the british people have to censor whatever they do with their properties. The british people are already complaining about the monarchy being a burden, I don't understand why they even question the so called properties which the royal family is paying taxes on it.

That there is complicity between the mainstream media and the Royal family is surely demonstrated by the lack of coverage about this outrage. I like most members of the Royal family as individuals and would rather have a hereditary monarchy than an elected president. However, I understand for the first time the rage that led to the French revolution.

I thought that the Act from 1838 on the Duchys of Lancaster and Cornwall required them to report yearly to the Treasury of the government of the UK? And that their filings each year are actually kept in the librairies of both Houses of Parliament. Surely this means the information is quite accessible to anyone wanting to research this? As a Canadian I wasn’t completely shocked to discover that the duchys both take in lease or rental money as,outside of the sovereign grant,the rest of it is privately owned. Maybe I am confused on some of the finer details.🤷🏽♀️Can someone add a more lucid explanation? Mine is a bit simplified I admit.

Why is Richard Eden being sceptical about Robert’s report that the Queen also wanted Andrew to vacate Royal Lodge? Firstly he seems to have impeccable sources. Richard seems to suggest that because the Queen apparently favoured Andrew she would indulge him. Well she also loved her grandson Harry but that didn’t stop her putting her foot down when it was clear that the Sussex’s wanted to have royal cake and eat said cake. Same with Andrew - she knew that it reflected badly on the RF for him to be rattling around in that Palace with nothing but his ego to keep him company (and occasionally Fergie) not to mention the security cost of protecting someone without any public duties. She wasn’t daft, sadly, she just didn’t have time to do it. Charles will not allow the mess to continue into William’s reign - which at the rate Andrew is obstinately refusing to budge, is not unrealistic.
