I just don't get why Konami refuses to actually bring the cards over to the west. Like I want to play this game physically but it's basically impossible and I just don't get the hesitation to bring it to English speaking countries. We only recently got a dub of sevens and yet still no cards and at this point with how far along rush duels have come I don't think Konami will bring it over due to how much they'd have to transfer over at once.
Would cost a lot with no guarantee of return on investment. I think that might be why they ported the video game only - it was a cheap way to test the waters and see how much interest there was going to be in Rush outside Japan.
But at this point rush clearly has a fan base here in the west. Personally I believe it's due to how far rush has come in Japan and how many cards they'd have to port over all at once so that we're all caught up. Rush in the west can't have a natural progression like it did in Japan years ago which I feel like is one of the main reasons why they've probably given up on localizing it.
Yu-Gi-Oh is already having issues in the West with some shops not bothering to carry it anymore and the people the game is designed for, kids, don't really play physical card games anymore.

I tried Rush after being disappointed by modern yugioh and wanting to try something different after playing GOAT for long. I was surprised Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon is very much playable and actually does stuff which suprised me considering you can only run 1 Blue-Eyes White Dragon. I think I managed to summon 3 Ultimate Dragons in several duels once. In old school yugioh, Ultimate Dragon has become very easy to summon but is completely worthless because why even bother? The game evolved to a pace that you can get it out with 1 card and still not do anything with it.

Our Rush Duel-folks in Vietnam always come to two conclusions when talking about YGO boomers' opinions. First, their opinions can easily be summed up by only one sentence, which is "I hate Rush Duel, but nothing is proved". Second, if they have any reasons to hate Rush Duel, 99% of those reasons are bullsh*t. They can talk about terrible animations of YGO SEVENS, but they don't even care or mention anything about the same things in YGO VRAINS. They can hate Rush Duel due to its simplicity, but the simplicity itself is always the reason why Rush Duel attracts casual players in Japan.
@@18ps3anos Trust me, you will see that Rush is much faster than GOAT, but you will like it once you get used to it. Btw, I love all formats in Yugioh, since each of them has their own unique things lol.
It's also quite hilarious that Rush Duel is actually the culmination of all the solutions players hypothesized that would save Yugioh. From rebooting the game, re-erata cards, ban all brocken cards, remove complicated summon mechanics, to flat out overhaul the rules. Everything of that is what Rush is. I just wish that game got more updates because executie format is dreadful to be eternally stuck on. I do support duel links rush duels in the hopes konami decides to import the real products one day.
I really love yugioh rush anime I got into yugioh because of it but master duel seems fun but learning curve is too high so a Rush and master duel hybrid would be cool
Rush Duels in Duel Links atm made me want to slam my head against the wall with how sacky it feels. If you don't "draw the out", you're dead. Games feel so dragged for some reason, despite the turns not taking too long. Although the introduction of fusions made things a bit more tolerable, Rush Duels in DL did not give me a very good impression on the format at all. I hope we do get more cards that even the field than simply drawing the out.
God yes. People complaining about Rush still going and that no one cares. It's still going isn't it? It would have been discontinued if it was a flop. Seriously yugioh players can be so up their own butts
Well in fairness I think the main issue is Konami is putting all this effort into a game they refuse to release internationally to the point they are no longer making the main games best marketing material in favour of it Rush is why we don’t have a new standard anime and the anime was how a lot of people got into the game because it gets them interested If a kid were to find rush then they were marketed a game that basically doesn’t exist because there isn’t a way to really play it
I think Rush Duels has potential. I have not played it, but if they sold it in TCG I'd try it. My biggest concern about Rush Duel is that it going to end up more degenerate than the regular yugioh in a few years cause the game has even less brakes built in.
You see what I mean yugioh will always end-up the same no matter what rules, they are. So people that hate monbo combos and infinite disruption, now speed duel as that, so because speed duel as that, they stop complaining and move to yugioh master duel which is also the exact same thing except way earlier. And then they move to rush duel because it was mush more simple, untill it become the same mombo combos infinite interupt, and if it is not their yet it will be in the future. So just enjoy the game and stop complaining about how it change.
You can still play speed duel without speed duel product, they use the same tcg card (you only need to check which card is legal). But you need rush duel card if you want to see the real reaction of people globally.
Personally I only downloaded Duel Links because I was dissatisfied with the difficulty and card pool of the switch game. I wanted the real deal. So I heard they were coming to Duel Links, and that alone had me make an exception in my anti-gacha policy. My love for silly blue otk dragon is bigger than my hatred for microtransactions. That said, I don't like how there aren't any viable decks where I can use it together with sevens road. Gimme my dragoncasters meta like it was meant to be, Konami!
I get all that but until it's brought to the tcg, I avoid getting invested in something I don't have access to. Once it's brought over I'll definitely give it a try.

I like some of what Rush does as a game, but the thing that's stopped me getting into it is that it feels childish. Not simple, but catered towards a younger audience visually and thematically. The angular big image card frame feels like an attempt to capture the spirit of something like Vanguard, and the [Condition][Cost][Effect] text structure feels kind of forced. Then it seems like there's a big focus on archetypes that would have been comic relief in main Yugioh series - they're archetypes that Chumley would have made, your "puns about food" type of thing. And the addition of special monster types. All in all, Rush kind of feels like it's ashamed to be associated with Yugioh. It's like it's trying to capitalise on yugioh nostalgia while also distancing itself from yugioh as much as possible.
I was interested in Rush Duel until it literally watched like modern combo Master Rule combo decks. Konami just needs to grow tf up and officially support alt formats and introduce set rotation.
