Bringing Rush Duels over now would be such a big win for so many people including Konami. It’s a win for players who maybe the current format isn’t for them or are burnt out and want to try alternative formats, it’s a win for collectors because rush duel cards have old school nostalgia cards like blue eyes dark magician etc so they’ll gladly rip open product to get said cards, it’s a win for new players and old players because it’s a simple easy to learn and pick up card game with a lot of depth and skill the more you learn about it and play it and with an anime backing it you can really get younger players interested and excited to play it. There’s almost no downside to bringing them over at this point
Hell a few of us here where im at picked up the game since someone translated every rush duels card to english for proxy play including new cards that get announced Print em on cardstock paper and have a blast
I hope rush duels come to the TCG, but I'm curious how they'll distribute the cards. There's so many products, decks and cards from Sevens alone, there's no way they'd even get halfway through importing them by the time Go Rush!! starts airing in dub. They'd have to combine products into mega sets, or have a very accelerated release schedule.
Speed Duel was supposed to end after the first Battle City Box so honestly it lived a much longer life than anyone thought. I'll still be playing Speed Duel but the secondary market is going to go crazy as the product disappears.
I would like to see the community see these more as innovation than as failures. Konami tests and tries new things all the time with new mechanics, rush duels, speed duels, cross duel, master duel, remote duels, and the normal advanced format. I hope they launch rush duel and that it works for the best!
Rush duels fit perfectly in the duel links and to this day I am still playing it the rush duel version only. Im finding the meta ways on how to use all the maximums monsters effectively though.
I’m 50/50 on Rush Duels coming to the TCG. I feel Speed Duel players prefer playing on Duel Links as opposed to its TCG. Given Rush Duel’s fair success in Duel Links, it could hit or miss. It would be great to have it, I’d love to play it myself, but I have a feeling some people would rather stick to Rush Duel via Duel Links much like with Speed Duel. I could be wrong but I feel that’s a high likelihood.

If Rush Duel came to tcg, id buy a ton of it and make a "Rush Duel Cube". Its a fun enough format but I dont think Id be able to convince my friends to invest in it. If I made a playable cube for us to draft, it would make for a couple of fun evenings.
Good video! I got back into yugioh with duel links. Got into collecting with speed duels. Definitely looking to finish collecting all the speed duel cards, and I would be ecstatic if rush duels comes out for the TCG. Let’s see what Konami does next!
Please bring it to the West. It’s something that should amend the new player problem possibly, anyone feeling like the other format is either stale, pricy, or too complicated. Rush can now have its own chase cards, but it also has nostalgic redesigned cards that can get people to play at entry level which is much simpler than the TCG master rules.
I think Rush Duels coming to the TCG could be a very good thing, especially if you want to attract a new generation to the game. Alot of this will depend on the rules that will be applied to the TCG, meaning, if it's easy enough for beginners to jump in without things getting to crazy, but still offers challenges for more experienced players, this could take the TCG to new heights never seen before! Yes, you'll still have people who are "it's Master Duel, or nothing", but if Rush Duel in the TCG attracts new people, then it's doing it's job! I kind of akin this to my other hobby of model railroading when DCC (Digital Command Control) was introduced in the late 80s and early 90s, it revolutionized the hobby, and I feel Rush Duels could have a similar effect in the TCG!
I think the biggest hurdle is how they would release the product. If they release it chronologically, not only will we have to deal with a year or so of a solved format in Dragoncasters, but we will be almost two whole generations behind from japan. I would be very interested in them releasing 2-4 structure decks of yuga/luke/romin/gakuto with support thats more advanced than the starter decks japan got. then, announce a big first set that kickstarts the greatest hits of the first pre-goha cup era. we would miss out on a lot of bulk, which is sad, but i think its the only way we could even dream of catching up. i dont think anyone will play the game if its dark revelation dragias turbo again

I think it's better if they make speed duel as alternate way to play in the first place and not as new product. Rush duel feels more like a new product. Canceling Speed Duels could be a hint that they're about to release Rush Duels. They have the data that Rush Duels have been doing well in their country and I'm glad we have Rush Duels in Duel Links. I'd just really love to see them come to the TCG too.
If they sell it here as an expandable card game rather than a trading card game it has a shot. Once per year or quarter you buy one box and is has 3 copies of every card. That way it won't eat into the main cardgame, and you can catch up much faster with the Japanese release.

While Duel Links offering said Rush Duel formats does scratch my itch for the Rush Duel Format, it will always pale to having the actual cards (and I honestly don't feel like buying the japanese cards)
It's going to need enough card product first to minimally be sustainable for most locals to hold tournaments for, now even though most of our cards we play with at TCG level that we would know and recognize and are familiar with are legend cards, and with cards exclusive to itself that are newer its a matter of reception of those monster designs and those have to pass our cultural standards as well Monster designs in the west generally have modifications, can these adapt to those modifications and censorship requirements even though the legend cards are all minimally able to do so with little to no changes very much or if at all The newer designs and newer card types for this format are going to have to jump through hoops more, where legend cards or what is considered legacy card product at this point won't have the same challenges With speed duel to leave, something has to give somewhere and in some way
When it Comes to Speed Duals Personally I'm kind of Feeling Like Darth Vader right now "NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!" but at the same time I couldn't help but Feel that I Probably should've Supported Duals More. As I've Only Baught Just The Stater and Structure Decks but also I've Skipped Out on at least a Couple of Sets as they just don't Appeal to me Personally. And on top of all of that I've sort of talked Trash about Speed Duals All Because I wanted the Product to be Improved. It's Such as shame too as I was Hopping to at least Get some kind of Yubel GX Deck and not just her Skill Card. Before they decided to End Speed Duals, again it's such a shame too as I've Noticed that I've been Focusing all of my Deck Building Time in Speed Duals. In Fact just earlier today I've just Simulated a Dual from the DM Anime if you well to see who would Win Yami Baukra Yami Marik with my Current Build for those Decks. And it Turns Out that Yami Marik ended up Winning without the Winged Dragon Of Ra By The Way. I Played Four Duals and I Never Drew The Winged Dragon Of Ra, with him Winning Three Out Of Four of them anyways I'll be Missing Speed Duals when it Finally goes Bye, Bye most likely for Good. Another Reason when I Keep on Playing and Buying Speed Duals is that it's Not Only the Offline Version of Dual Links but also it's Perfect for Casuals Players Like me. And as for Rush Duals I Really Hope that it's Successful at to last a little longer than Speed Duals. But I have a Feeling that Rush Duals would Only Last Just as Long as they Continue on Making Rush Dual Yu Gi Oh Anime. But if I had it my way Rush Duals would be Lasting for at least 25 Years be it if the Anime Stays with the Rush Dual Format or Go Back to the Master Dual Format in the Anime. As I Really Loved Playing Rush Duals in Dual Links Oh Sure I'm Not Exact ally the Biggest Fan of the Maximum Mechanic but Either than that I Really Truly Enjoyed everything Else about Rush Duals. It still doesn’t make sense to me that Konami hasn’t localized Rush Duels since the anime is already dubbed it has its own video game and has been implemented in Duel Links.
Rush duels I think would be amazing full arts complete switch from the mess of the real game and on top of that the decks in rush duels are actually so fun
IMO, if they do decide to bring rush duel overseas, they HAVE to promote the anime and game well. I feel like bringing in yugioh tcg players isn't enough to keep the format alive, since tcg is alr its own game, and we're just gonna see a repeat of whats happening to a lot of the ygo games lately. they need to bring more players, and the best way is through kids. idk how much kids actually still watch cable, play with physical toys anymore, or watch cartoons that r basically ads on streaming services but they need to capture that audience so the game can have more longevity. I feel like GO Rush is an ok time to do this cause imo the premise, setting, and char design is more interesting than Sevens even tho Rush duels r gonna have to play catch up, which might be bad to the game in the long run. It needs to be better paced thruout its life cycle and easy to get into for beginners, which is a problem with the TCG. I just hope if it releases, it does well bc i will be buying.

I'm more annoyed that the last 2 sets were made in America and heard the quality from Belgium printing was loads worse. Not to mention not avaliable in Europe... really gutting.
Speed Duels were dead to me as soon as they said you could only use cards marked as Speed Duels. So I can't use my 30 Blue-Eyes White Dragon and instead need to buy even more of them so I can get the version with Speed Duel written on it. No other card game with multiple formats have ever done something so stupid. In Magic The Gathering if a card was first released in 1993 and then gets reprinted in a standard legal set then it doesn't matter if your use the new version or the one you have from 1993 in your tournament legal deck! You can barely even see the Speed Duel mark so I imagine you could get away using the old versions at a tournament and nobody would even notice. All that being said though, it did make a comeback by releasing boxes of preconstructed decks. When I have friends over that are fans of nostalgic for classic Yugioh and don't know the newer mechanics I can bust out the boxes and tell them to just pick a premade deck to play with. Even multiplayer works well this way since the decks are such low power level and balanced against each other. Also rest in peace Cross Duel, I spent so much money on that game! I was so addicted to it and loved it!
I feel like it's too late for Rush duels to come to TCG because I feel if they were going to they would have by now. Plus unlike Speed Duel cards Rush cards can't be played with the main cards so it's like buy/playing a whole new card game and I don't think people would want to invest in that
In the data spreadsheet everyone jumps to claim the infinite success of rush duel in japan is clearly shown that while they sold more stuff this year OCG yugioh sells twelve times as much. So does it really make any sense for komoney to localize stuff that only a very subset of people already playing Yugioh will be interested in? Lorcana and One Piece completely cannibalized the market Rush was supposed to do well in.
Rush Duel are only available in Japan OCG, only Japan while the Whole Asia region just play Master Duel for the OCG so it's weird that its not the whole OCG able to plat it
Rush has a more modern appealing design to newcomers while respecting artworks of older classic familiar cards. It's what the game needs. Speed Duel was cool but yugioh card layout and design is outdated. People want large full art-works and clearer text/information

It's own thing. Rush Duels has a lot of changes in card designs, wordings (No targeting, no archetypes)and rules (All cards are soft once per turn, all fulfilled required effects are mandatory and simultaneous, no banishing etc.) that would make it incompatible with the tcg/ocg

Speed duels was a waste of time. They should've introudced it as a new game format and not try to reprint cards.. you can play with your current cards but heres the new rules for it type of thing.
Im gonna put a hot take I believe rush duel isn't gonna come to the tcg reason why it's due to the fact the TCG already in a saturated state with many card game that provides better gameplay than rush duel and prizes to boot not only that its a different format as well meaning it need a different audience to satisfy the status quoted. And remember konami isn't trying to get new players to join in the game which means they're not going to try to advertise said game.

Honestly still not sure if they'll bring Rush yet. Especilly as in this year. 1) For starters, while Rush having 10% of the OCG's playerbase in the Japan is good enough, it doesn't seem like it'd be enough in most locals in the TCG territoriess. Japan's card game market is pretty damn big,so that 10% goes longer. 2) While the Sevens anime is translated to English, it is only translated to English and Portuguese. 2 of the 7 TCG languages. And it is also only available for streaming in Hulu and only in some countries. It seems unlikely that many people have watched it. 3) It is honestly not oing that hot in Duel Links. There were less than 5000 Rush players who dueled in Stage 2 of the World's qualiifiers.
I really enjoyed speed duel for the ability to get cards I couldn’t get when I was a kid as if they were being released for the first time again it felt cool so I really do hope it comes back

I feel like bringing in yugioh tcg players isn't enough to keep the format alive, since tcg is alr its own game, and we're just gonna see a repeat of whats happening to a lot of the ygo games lately. they need to bring more players, and the best way is through kids. idk how much kids actually still watch cable, play with physical toys anymore, or watch cartoons that r basically ads on streaming services but they need to capture that audience so the game can have more longevity. I feel like GO Rush is an ok time to do this cause imo the premise, setting, and char design is more interesting than Sevens even tho Rush duels r gonna have to play catch up, which might be bad to the game in the long run. It needs to be better paced thruout its life cycle and easy to get into for beginners, which is a problem with the TCG. I just hope if it releases, it does well bc i will be buying.

I'm more annoyed that the last 2 sets were made in America and heard the quality from Belgium printing was loads worse. Not to mention not avaliable in Europe... really gutting.

Speed Duels were dead to me as soon as they said you could only use cards marked as Speed Duels. So I can't use my 30 Blue-Eyes White Dragon and instead need to buy even more of them so I can get the version with Speed Duel written on it. No other card game with multiple formats have ever done something so stupid. In Magic The Gathering if a card was first released in 1993 and then gets reprinted in a standard legal set then it doesn't matter if your use the new version or the one you have from 1993 in your tournament legal deck! You can barely even see the Speed Duel mark so I imagine you could get away using the old versions at a tournament and nobody would even notice.
All that being said though, it did make a comeback by releasing boxes of preconstructed decks. When I have friends over that are fans of nostalgic for classic Yugioh and don't know the newer mechanics I can bust out the boxes and tell them to just pick a premade deck to play with. Even multiplayer works well this way since the decks are such low power level and balanced against each other.
Also rest in peace Cross Duel, I spent so much money on that game! I was so addicted to it and loved it!

I feel like it's too late for Rush duels to come to TCG because I feel if they were going to they would have by now.
Plus unlike Speed Duel cards Rush cards can't be played with the main cards so it's like buy/playing a whole new card game and I don't think people would want to invest in that

In the data spreadsheet everyone jumps to claim the infinite success of rush duel in japan is clearly shown that while they sold more stuff this year OCG yugioh sells twelve times as much.

Lorcana and One Piece completely cannibalized the market Rush was supposed to do well in.
Rush Duel are only available in Japan OCG, only Japan while the Whole Asia region just play Master Duel for the OCG so it's weird that its not the whole OCG able to plat it
Rush has a more modern appealing design to newcomers while respecting artworks of older classic familiar cards. It's what the game needs. Speed Duel was cool but yugioh card layout and design is outdated. People want large full art-works and clearer text/information

If rush duels do come to the tcg then not sure if people in the west will buy them ive seen people outside your community dlyan that some hate rush duek cards i personally don't hate the format but i wouldn't say its my favorite tho either but if it does come then thats fine I'll try it out
The current state of the TCG really shows that we need alternative formats like Rush.
Shame for Speed Duel, the reprints and high rarities was nice for alternate formats like GOAT and Edison.
Hopefully we do get rush duels over here in the west dyl bc I need a break from the master format with something simpler bc id love to try RD in the west

It's own thing. Rush Duels has a lot of changes in card designs, wordings (No targeting, no archetypes)and rules (All cards are soft once per turn, all fulfilled required effects are mandatory and simultaneous, no banishing etc.) that would make it incompatible with the tcg/ocg
@@PhantasmagoriaRS they do have archetypes, but yes everything elee you said is correct. Rush duel cards have a completely different design philosophy and simply aren't compatible with the actual game.

Im gonna put a hot take I believe rush duel isn't gonna come to the tcg reason why it's due to the fact the TCG already in a saturated state with many card game that provides better gameplay than rush duel and prizes to boot not only that its a different format as well meaning it need a different audience to satisfy the status quoted. And remember konami isn't trying to get new players to join in the game which means they're not going to try to advertise said game.

Let rush duels come I've been playing rush duels on dueling book and playing rush duels actually is very fun. I love using Luke's deck and drawing 5 feels good
Honestly still not sure if they'll bring Rush yet. Especilly as in this year. 1) For starters, while Rush having 10% of the OCG's playerbase in the Japan is good enough, it doesn't seem like it'd be enough in most locals in the TCG territoriess. Japan's card game market is pretty damn big,so that 10% goes longer. 2) While the Sevens anime is translated to English, it is only translated to English and Portuguese. 2 of the 7 TCG languages. And it is also only available for streaming in Hulu and only in some countries. It seems unlikely that many people have watched it. 3) It is honestly not oing that hot in Duel Links. There were less than 5000 Rush players who dueled in Stage 2 of the World's qualiifiers.
I really enjoyed speed duel for the ability to get cards I couldn’t get when I was a kid as if they were being released for the first time again it felt cool so I really do hope it comes back
