Caught my eye immediately and as always great find Jacob! Appreciate the honest take and I agree with your position 100%. I definitely am inspired by it though and gets me even more excited to see your own journey to creating something similar/truly unique in the gaming space!
I was already at the checkout page when you mentioned the technical issues. Hate to buy a broken game so I guess I'll wait for it to get fixed. Hope I won't have forgotten about it by then.
Shame about the bugs...the game looks gorgeous and right up my alley. Definitely gonna wishlist it and keep an eye on it, hopefully the devs will get the chance to patch it up!
Yea I'm still hopeful they will eventually although initial patches haven't addressed much outside cutscenes which is at least some progress. Ultimately If I were to speculate, this felt like a publisher wanting this out and a new devteam trying their hardest to meet that deadline. I've seen it quite a few times and I just wish more time would be allowed to these games rather than relying on patches to really make things playable. You're not going to catch every bug and patches are fine in that sense, but my experience was not an isolated one and in fact, the devs/publisher knew about the bugs, they sent me a doc confirming this. Rather than hope those will be squashed by launch and potentially miss that deadline, why not just take the time necessary to ensure they are before launching? It certainly has made it hard for me as a reviewer and that's why I don't plan on doing reviews like this anymore. I will still support many games on launch though as a fan and you already know I'm buying your next game on day one!
@@YourFriendJacob Yeah, having to force out a game when it's not ready is heartbreaking for any dev. And even if they do release patches to fix all the issues, the damage is usually already done...I doubt many people are gonna keep checking back for months to see if the game is finally in a better state. Really feels smarter to just release a game when it's ready, or at least when it doesn't have any *breaking* issues... (also thank you!)
I loved a lot Hell Pie!!!! Do you know if the company pllanning an Hell Pie 2? By the way this game looks promising if you suggest to buy i'll be the first in line! Any similarities with hwll pie or any other Platform?
I can confirm that the developers of Hell Pie are working on a new game but I am not sure if it is Hell Pie 2 or not. I'd be happy with a sequel or even just another 3D Platformer game from them! As far as this game goes, I'd say the most similar recent 3D platformer to this one is Kao the Kangaroo. Kao is more polished though it has worse voice acting for what it's worth. Hell Pie definitely tests your platforming abilities more than this game and mixes things up a bit more as well. As far as whether or not you should buy Boti, I think wishlisting it is the best move for now. The issues with co-op I mention in the review happened today so there's still some work to be done. Could all these issues be fixed by launch? Maybe, and the devs are working hard to fix things. But I'm not 100% sure that they will so I want to make sure people get the best experience by waiting a little bit before jumping in.
@@pietroba2037 It's single player but you can play it in co-op if you want. I played the entire game first by myself, then played co-op after to test it out.

A new video from my friend Jacob?? Today is off to a good start already :)
Took a second away from early gamedev stuff because I can't pass up covering 3D platformers haha
Such a fun looking game with lots of potential, will wishlist it!
Yea lots of potential is how I'd describe it as well. As long as the issues get fixed, it'll be a fun one to check out. Here's to hoping that happens!
