    The great thing about this dude is he doesn't push his products at you like other people will do, simply says " use your cleaner of choice". how you can tell this guy just loves cleaning cars and showing people how.

    1 tip for cleaning the centre console where the gear shift is; on automatic cars make sure to put the gear shift all the way down (Usaully "1" or "L") and clean there because thats what the customer sees when they put it in drive and a lot of times its dirty. Great video by the way, love the Drive Clean series.

    Using a soft bristled brush to clean any part of the car is a must! I never used them and when I say some for really cheap I decided to pick them up. The deep cleaning and lathering effect is amazing and works better than any cloth or scrub pad. Engine bay, interior fabrics, tight exterior trim and wheels are all cleaned so much better with a brush.

    Larry does have videos about this on his site. Basically, right hand, upside down while on the passenger's side seat. Apply the cleaner only to the microfiber cloth, and never directly to the windshield to avoid overspray.
    I would take the time to see the video on his site, as he does a great job and shares tons of free information.

    He shows some really good things. Cleaning a car is so important when trading them in. I have a 2008 Mini and the dealer asks me who cleans my car every time I bring it to the dealer for service. When I tell them I do, they don't even bother washing the car. They never do as good a job as I do...it does help being a former detailer. =]

    • @grantschneider926
      @grantschneider926 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Where did you detail at? I unfortunately suckered into carmax not realizing how little time they give you to do full details, i have to get a full detail done no matter how dirty or old the car is in 3.2 hours. 2.7 if theres no sanding involved, i cant get it done in that time frame and do a great job at it to save my life

    • @cbmuzik3000
      @cbmuzik3000 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Grant Schneider you're giving me a time frame but it depends on the overall condition of the vehicle. Even newer vehicles take time depending on the detail involved. I would start with the outside first. There are many new waxes that will give cars a reasonable shine. The time comes in when cleaning the inside. the nooks and crannies being clean go a VERY long way with resale value. But you mentioned Carmax. They are brutal. I just appraised a 2015 TLX with them. They gave me 6K less than an authorized Acura dealer. I wouldnt mess with them if I were you.

    You can put some washer fluid / glass cleaner on a microfiber cloth and wipe the windscreen. It can't be too hot outside, because then it'll dry to fast and cause spots. So let it sit a minute and then take a dry cloth to rub it off. It will require some hard pressure to get it off properly. Not sure if there's a better method, but this works just fine for me :)

    Oh boy :) I can understand the care for leather, dash, and headliner; but the floormats? I usually spray them with a heavy duty grease remover, scrub it in lightly and then use a pressure washer - works like a charm! (I wouldn't use it on a rare or very expensive floormat though!)

    For dashboard I use 50/50 apc and water mix, for carpet i use carpet cleaner and a drill brush to get out the stains , if its more deeper I run the steamer and then drill again , wipe down , roof liner I use very little carpet cleaner and drill brush , and for the carpet mats I use apc and power wash them and wash all the dirt out , I do quality work I admire all the work but I'm not spending a whole day doing one car I take 300$ for 3-4 hrs of my time and still get quality results
