    Nice Instructions. I'd use DMC for that backstitching too. Where do you buy the crushed walnut shells? Do you think you ever overstuffed a pillow? I did once. Very Nice!!!

    • @helend.flosstube
      @helend.flosstube  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I bought the walnut shells on Amazon. They're actually lizard litter. The brand is Zilla. They're very fine. I like my pillows super stuffed, so I haven't overstuffed yet, but there's still time!

    Another great finish! I did the Block Party Buzz, but it was my first and only time stitching on black linen. The finishing used black floss, so it was hard to see where to pick up each stitch. I did another block finish later with a contrasting color for the backstitching and whipstitching, and it was much better.
    I like that you used a blend of fiberfill and walnut shells. I used all walnut shells (it took more than four cups), and it’s a bit too squishy. I used a funnel for the filling. I have the SNOW block in my “stitch soon” basket, so I will use the fiberfill with the walnut shells. Patti

    Well now you’ve graduated from encourager to enabler, Helen. First the berries and now these blocks, oh my goodness! I definitely have to stitch this and while I am still terrified of finishing it, at least I know with your video I have a high success rate. Another great tutorial, Helen! Thanks so much, and especially for choosing to do one of the Hands on Design block party finishes. I got the March 17 pattern and was going to just do the long part and frame it, which I quite like from Kathy’s video. Now that I’ve seen this, I’m inspired to get the Meow pattern - always loved it - and give it a try.

That being said, I have my one and only biscornu that I've ever stitched still waiting in my "to be FFOed" box for at least 15 years now. Maybe longer. 😆 I seriously must carve out time to FFO my things. Enjoy your weekend!
