  • In this video I'll show you two ways to measure and assemble a drum from your cross stitch.

    Supplies used:
    Mat board
    5 inch doll needle
    cotton batting
    Interfacing (I use Pellon 950F)
    Circle template (I use the Wescott Jumbo Template from Amazon)
    Double Sided Tape
    Iron
    Polyfill
    Bodkin

    After watching B&E stitchery with Stephanie from the New England stitcher I had to come watch this tutorial! They finished a drum and they were so darn cute I want one too ! Your tutorial was just so amazing I actually feel like I might be able to do one ! Thank you so much for your instructions and so many great tips ! If I do one I’ll bring it to Stitch New England retreat to show them ,they are all such enablers !😂🩷

    Thank you for the FABULOUS tutorial! I have wanted to make a drum for a while and today I took the plunge! It was definitely the hardest finish I have ever done, BUT I did it and I will do it again… and hopefully it will turn out better than the 1st one 😊

    I admit I’m tired, ready for bed and having a cup of hot tea. Thought you were saying a 5” dull needle. Then you said “be careful they are sharp”. But you said a full needle. Oh! 🤦‍♀️ a doll needle! 😂 I really want to try a drum soon. Your tutorials are excellent.

    Thank you! I will definitely give some of your tips and tricks a try! I just so happen to have three drums that I'm just at the adding the top and bottom stages and I think your advice about adding the top trim before stuffing will be helpful!

      I have a Brother XM2701. It's very basic and can easily be lifted and moved around.

    For those who have a hard time seeing, TH-cam lets you zoom in by pinching the video. I was able to see Helen's joining process perfectly by zooming in.

    Thanks for the tutorial. I’ve never tried a drum, but this makes it possible. I will go with Pi x diameter = circumference for the measurements.
