  • It's finally time for another episode of Spells & Specialists! We are, once again, joined by Max Farmer, a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and LitRPG author. In this video we take the wealth of information Max provided in Part 1 and develop a seed crystal for a new magic system.
The Seed Crystal: People can bond with animals and monsters to gain their traits, powers, and weaknesses over time but they must maintain the health and wellbeing of their bonded companions.

The conversation about the relationship between the bonded person & their familiar(s) was very creativite.
I'm working on a magic system where the familiar acts as a "natural" interface for the magic of the world.
This episode helped spark a lot of creativity, thank you!

High need creatures like dragons may be something only noble houses could afford, with the benefit of all their powers, their general lack of combat weakness, and possibly their ability to bond with multiple people.

Love that idea. "I see you've got yourself a high-maintenance monster there. You must be rich to take care of something like that."

@@themagicengineer5314 like in dnd dragons need to sleep on a pile of coins to grow. If that was the case here, only houses that continued great financial strength for centuries could have an elder dragon as a house bonded creature
