    My “stamp scrubber” has always been a paint pad from the hardware store inside a plastic pencil box. I’ve had it for decades. Super cheap and basically the same thing that you pay 3x as much for at the craft store.

    Tim Holtz recommends to stamp your brand new clear stamps with Archival Ink, stamp it off and leave it there to dry, says they stamp better with it on there. I can’t get it to stay on there though. But I don’t think it matters if there is ink on there as long as it still stamps and doesn’t transfer a color you don’t want. This is great information though. I appreciate it. I’m glad you said that about not touching the back and leaving it on the block. I have several that the sticky is gone and I know that’s why.

    I also use a nail brush with squeaky clean to get into the grooves of words and such. Also Hero Arts ink will really stain stamps, doesn't hurt them, just stains them. At least in my experience. Thanks for the tips Maymay! Hugs, Brenda

    I actually prefer the stained but translucent stamps. I find it easier to line them up. Suggestion: When you place that sticky product on your block, before you take the protective sheet of....make a mark on the top of it with a permanent marker. Then, after removing it, you know which side needs to be up. I say that because some of these products require a certain side of the protective sheet....which might be the reason that it curled when you removed it the second time.

    How do you soften red rubber stamps? I have stamps from late 90’s that seem to have hardened a bit. Is there a way to soften them back up? I was thinking of putting a little glycerin in them and letting sit for a while.

    Do you have any advice for getting stamps OFF of their backers when first being used? I've gotten several stamps that just won't come off the acrylic backers, and I'm afraid I'm going to rip them. :(

    Is there a better way to clean our squeaky pad then running cool water?

  • @ckforester3822
    @ckforester3822 5 ปีที่แล้ว

    Those are two great products. I don’t own a pad like that but definitely need to get that. I’ve ruined ink pads by using baby wipes on my stamps. Unfortunately the baby wipe lint has transferred not only to my projects, but onto some ink pads as well and it’s very frustrating. Can the scrubber pad you were using being cleaned as well? If so, what would you use? Dish soap or the squeaky clean and warm water? And, I have one last question: Do the stamps dry quickly when using the dry side of the scrubber pad - in case you want to re-ink stamp using a different color. Btw, i love your videos and appreciate all the effort you put in to doing this, just to help others. Crafty hugs.

    Does squeaky clean leave an oily residue like Ultra clean does? I've always used ultra clean, but don't really like the smell and the oily residue it leaves. Started looking into making my own stamp cleaner, and then I see this video post. Thank you for sharing these tips, and I am happy to learn I'm not the only one who puts stamps on big blocks to clean later. :D

    The tacky tape wouldn’t work so good if you use a stamping platform. I’m awful at block stamping so I usually have better luck with a platform. Will using Dawn help with stamps that have embossing powder on the backs or would the purple tape idea be best? How about restoring sticky on the backs? Yes, I’m a hot mess at times! Great tips! Thank you! 💕🙋‍♀️

      I wouldn't use them to clean my stamps with on a regular basis. I mentioned that you could even use bleach because there is a stamping technique that uses bleach and it doesn't hurt the stamps. But, I still wouldn't clean with it. Thanks
