  • This idea I had in the morning is a GAMECHANGER for me! I'm sure you know this problem: Your clear or cling stamps don't stick to your acrylic block anymore and they are falling of when you try to stamp? I found a very easy and cheap solution for this problem! No glue, no cleaning, no adhesive tape! Hoping, it's a solution for you as well!

I really love this idea because the cutting mat is flexible and so allows you to put whatever pressure you want onto your stamp in various areas. (Not like the other rigid acrylic block.) Luise, I really think you should design and develop your own line of grunge journal craft supplies. You are always experimenting and learning through trial and error what works and what doesn't. I think you have a great group of followers who would also be interested in using products with your name on them.

@@luiseheinzl I'll second that motion. Please remember to include Canadians in your plans! LOL
Instantly my first thought is a Beginner Junk Journaling kit. My crafting buddy and I are making some journals for friends and family. Some of them are not crafty.
I have a little list going of some bare bones supplies to send with each journal. They can buy their own glue stick and scissors, but, I'm looking for a small general purpose stamp set. A small to medium acrylic block [or now a chunk of sticky mat], 2 paintbrushes, a number 4 or 6 round and a fan brush. Small watercolour set. Two Inktense pencils, 1 brown for warm colour pages and 1 dark blue for cool colour pages. A few coloured pencils [red, blue, yellow], inexpensive acrylic craft paint [red, blue, yellow] and a small bottle of matte medium.
Seriously, I would love to proudly show off my Luise Heinzl tools and products.

    Hi Luise:
What a fabulous discovery! I have never seen this done before. I like the idea of lining up with the grid. Can definitely see why you’re so excited about this. My stamps still stick to my acrylic blocks, which I clean with a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser. Works like a charm without water or soap.

What a great idea for using old cutting mats. I can tell you from experience that the reason your stamps aren’t sticking to the block is because they aren’t clean. I clean my stamps and blocks after using them. So I don’t have issues. I know many don’t clean them and your idea is a great alternative.

Here in the States, we have Cricut Mats from the (Cricut Cutting machine) & Silhouette mats from the (Cameo Silhouette) that would be perfect for this. I have the Tim Holtz stamping platform. But I wouldn't hesitate using this method at all. Great way to get more uses out of your non-sticking stamps. As always TFS ❤️

I love this idea. It's frustrating when your stamps aren't sticky anymore.
I have used very thin clear cutting "boards" made for kitchen use, found in my local dollar store. I have cut them to fit particular stamps I use all the time. The stamps are then glued to the cut board, and left that way to use in the future.
I like your way better because I don't have to cut so many pieces. The cut pieces with the boards are harder to store ( I ended up storing mine together, apart from my other stamps.) I would image your way would be easier to clean.
    Tfs.

Oh noooo Luisa, all you had to do was buy Stick it over and over by Allene’s glue. I use a 1/8 of an inch in a small spray bottle and the rest water. And you use it for your plate for you scan and cut or Cricut. I was cringing when you cut it up. 😩🥺😜 you can find videos on TH-cam then the lettering on the back won’t come off.

I use the full sheets that you can get from the Office supply store and cover the back of an entire 8.5x11 sheet of card stock prior to die cutting. The full sheets are full adhesive contact, the 5x7 sheets are low contact adhesive.

Why don't you just soak them in water and soap? Works every time Dawn dish soap to be exact. I don't understand why such trouble the red stamps can be soaked for at least 15 minutes themselves and the backings of them were made to become sticky once they were cleaned off. When drying put them on a drying mat pattern side down and the sticky part up and it should work every time it works for me even with my red rubber stamps. I found no use in anything else because all it did was either waste product or waste time when you have a perfectly good solution in your kitchen faucet. You don't want to make the water hot but it probably would help if it was warm a little bit more towards the hot side.

This is a great idea! I wish I had seen this back in January when I took all of my stamps off of the wood blocks. It was a pain to add "stick it over and over again" glue. Well, I still have a few baskets of stamps to finish, so this will still help me. Thank you so much for sharing!
