Jeep Wrangler JL Mopar Tailgate Reinforcement Noise FIX

If your JL tailgate has been making popping noises and is equipped with the Mopar Tailgate Reinforcement kit, this easy fix will hopefully solve your problems. Mine came factory on my 2021 Wrangler Rubicon 392 since I opted for the Xtreme Recon package. Since day one, I have heard a slight pop coming from the rear, but nothing was loose. It wasn't until I actually unbolted the hinges (which you'll see in the video), that I actually fixed the problem.

Is your camera longer than normal? Seems very far out? Nice job finding the problem.

The camera snout is longer on the JL’s equipped with the Xtreme Recon package.

Did it sound like a plastic bottle being crushed when driving?

Does it came back? Man I got the xtreme recon to, and I have the same clicking noise I disassembled the whole thing twice, te clicking nois goes away for a couple of weeks but always came back it drives me nuts!!!🤬

Thankfully, no, it has not come back. It’s been quiet ever since I did this video.

You are lucky, don't know what to do next... I'm at a point where I'm thinking about a bumper with a tire carrier...

@@jeepoverlandadventures9911 that’s a bummer to hear. I’m debating on moving up to a 38 inch tall tire. If I do that, I might look for either an aftermarket tire carrier or just go with a full spare tire delete set up in the back. I had an expedition one tire carrier on the back of my previous JL and loved it. Might go back with that.

Hey, this is kinda to both you guys here. So great vid it worked but like Jeep overland….,mine comes back after a few weeks. I’ve done it twice. Has it come back for you Ali? And or Jeep overland, did you find a solution to keep it from re occurring?
It’s driving me crazy 😂
