Previous Install Video: • Hard Top Headliners, D...
To kick off the new 2 door JK build, we are starting with a much needed interior upgrade! While Jeeps are known to be loud, uncomfortable, and rough, its not too hard to make them a nice daily driver with a few upgrades! We are installing a full set of HotHead Headliners with sound assassin strips on the hardtop, which will not only help insulate the top from hot and cold temps but also help dampen the wind noise from the top. These are very high quality, and perform much better than the Mopar Headliners or other cheaper brands. (I have the Mopar Headliner kit on the Gladiator).
While the Headliner kit helped tremendously, the road noise from the floorboards was the next to address. The full 2 door Sound Assassin kit solved that issue quickly! This was a very dense material, and felt really thick compared to other knock off matting ive handled before. Simply remove the carpet and seats, clean out the tub and start cutting and applying!
The interior of the Jeep now feels much more comfortable and quiet, in a way it feels newer. The noise level did show a drop, and in person it is wildly noticeable. Thanks for watching and stay tuned for next weeks Jeep video!

I did this to my gladiator. It's noticeable difference and made the stereo sound richer and fuller

I did this to my Jeep about three years ago. Huge difference! I also took the door panels off and was able to get quite a bit of sound deadning inside the door which made closing it also quieter. I suggest doubling or even trippling the amount of sound deadning material on the wheel wells, which is where most of the noise comes from. Especialy if you have off road tires.

I love my hotheads headliner. One of the best comfort and daily driver mods out there. Living in Phoenix AZ, Window tint and hotheads headliners are mandatory. They really help in the summers.

We installed HushMat a few years ago in our 2016 JK. Made a huge difference. Worth the time and effort.

I had the factory headliner in my JL. I changed the freedom panels to hotheads so I can put velcro backed patches on them. I like them!

Nice video. I did the hot heads mod years ago. It helped a bit. More recently I did the firewall and floor with Dynamat and Dynaliner. Made a huge difference in noise and more importantly temperature control.

That factory Loctite is no joke, depending what color they used. When I had to remove the body-mount bolts on my JT to install the Ace Engineering rock sliders, the front bolts requires a blowtorch.... they had used Red on the front, which usually the bolt snaps before the Loctite does if you don't soften it up some. I have the same rock sliders in my garage for my 2023 JLU (when it finally gets back from the dealer service from hell) and luckily I have heard the JL uses blue Loctite on the body mount bolts.

We did a hot head headliner early on and it made a huge difference in wind noise & heat

  • @besomebody100

I did this to my JKU. Threw down multiple layers of asphalt deadener on the body pan and doors. Also laid in a layer of closed cell foam. Made a HUGE difference (i run 37's). I think the next most important part to sound deaden would be the doors. But they're a lot more work so I haven't done it. Plus the asphalt panels in the doors would add weight... Great video, thank you!

Thanks for the video. I have been looking at the hothead for my 2012 JKU. I like in the Northern central valley of CA and the summers are brutal, triple digits from May to September, hoping this will give some relief from the heat.

I did same thing to my 2door only difference is I also added an insulation kit to the underside of the hood as well and it made a noticeable difference in road noise.

The floor dampening looks like it would be more beneficial since it covers more surface area and protect you from blacktop heat during the summer.
