@MoldyStir-Fry i dont play minecraft (or any game) but it should work. Are you looking at the ipv4 address of each computer? Hey Nate! I just installed my 4x4 antenna. Speeds went from 30’s to high 200’s in the mornings but my internet drops out and videos just buffer in the evenings. Most of my specs say good or excellent except my RSRP is poor on 5G. RSSI and RSRP are poor on LTE. I have quite long coax runs from the antenna to the gateway. 60-70ft approx. Could that be my problem? Any other suggestions?? Thanks!!!!!!
The most important stat if you have atleast 2 bars of strength is SINR. What cable quality do you have, typically anything over 50ft is too much loss. Get the gateway closer to the antenna and use ethernet or wifi to expand.
Does this support the G4AR t mobile unit ? Can you change the IP address as it conflicts with Stalink for me ? Can you view the RSRP and RSRQ antennas signal values - which i need to fine tune aiming of external wavefrm ant ?
You can use the official tmobile home internet app and try logging in with that. If that doesnt work then maybe you changed the password and can do a factory reset (press and hold button on back) and it will go back to the factory password.
@@jeff5694 I am aware of that. The problem was that it wouldn't accept the admin password which I knew was absolutely correct. I ended up having the factory reset the device as Nater Tater suggested. Then it worked as expected.
This is really useful info, and it worked perfectly on my White T-M Home Internet Gateway. I was hoping for more security features to be available but suspect that this is just par for the course for these simplistic gateways. At least I can switch the wifi off with this app to feed the LTE through to a better firewall / secure module.
I had trouble connecting T-Mobile Wi-Fi to my ring devices and neither T-Mobile customer service or ring customer service reps were able to help me. The only work around I found was to connect a router like netgear to the T-Mobile gateway. My question to you is that I am looking to buy a gaming system preferably Xbox X and I have read internet connectivity issue with the system, can you please make a video on troubleshooting these connection issues arising with Xbox X connection?
Hi @NaterTater I need your help! I had everything set up according to your video here with the T-Mobile Gateway. But I didn’t set the Android to remember credentials. Then I wanted to start over and rename my SSID’s and I figured it would be faster to just hit “reset” on the outside of the unit, and when I returned back to the Hint Control app it now gives me an Error Message that says “No T-Mobile gateway found.” What can I do to fix this?
Thanks for sharing the information, Nater Tater. Do you have any knowledge about the new gateways TMobile is rumored to be releasing soon (i.e. what, when, capabilities etc)? I started with the Nokia trashcan. Then, TMobile "upgraded" me to the Arcadyan which seems to perform worse than the trashcan. I live in a very rural part of Alabama, so my Internet options are very few - TMobile is the best option available. Any improvement in their service would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again for keeping us informed.
I just got Tmobile home internet still in the trial period. The wifi and the box get excellent signal levels. However, the top download speed might be 50 mbps. Is this probably too many users? Should I bale now that it is still within the trial period?

Hi Nater, Love your channel! Quick question. By turning off all wifi signals, does it mean I can now effectively turn this gaterway into a pure gateay and able to connect this to a router without worrying about double NAT issue? Thanks
No, it simply turns off the wifi radios. All the routing and NAT still exists. You can still hook up your own router but you'll always have double or more NAT.
@TimKwong2 double NAT? Tmobile uses CGNAT and thus you'll always be double nat on their network. There are some complex solutions where you tunnel through but that often isnt worth the hassle/cost. Is this just for gaming?
@@NaterTater thanks for quick reply. Yes it is for gaming. I do get 280 down/60 up in avg but the ping can go up and down a lot at times. I am worrying if it is caused by the doubt NAT issue.

Great app. I needed a way to get into my T-Mobile 5G Arcadyan KVD21 gateway to turn off WiFi and this does the trick. Hopefully, the app will continue to be upgraded to add more control. The reason that I wanted to turn off the WiFi on the T-Mobile gateway is that I wanted to use a Nighthawk router for the 2.4G channel and get faster speeds around the house. i'd say its the wrong password but can you go to 192.168.12.1 on your computer browser and does it open the gateway webui? If it does open then the password is wrong, if it doesnt open then your router is blocking access to the gateway. If its the latter just directly plug into the gateway to use the app.
What kind of device are you connecting with? If it’s a PC is it a static address? If it’s DHCP, try disabling and enabling your network interface. It should pickup a new IP address. If it’s a static address, it needs to be on the same subnet. 192.168.12.x

Noticed that your Arcadyan gateway, like mine, is only connected to the 4G LTE and no 5G. Is that normal? I've been in contact with the Tmobile force on twitter and they said its probably because that I live in a dense populated area which is possibly why I am only connected to 4G LTE.
@@NaterTater Thanks for the reply. I actually got it to turn off the WIFI (requiring master reset to bring back). Nate, you mentioned port forwarding in passing. Is there a way to do port forwarding (or passthrough to another router) on the Sagemcom 5688W? @@NaterTater, thank you! I just returned the Sagemcom 5688W and cancelled my T-Mobile home internet. To run my web server (and to do a few other things that I need to do), I need to be able to configure port forwarding (or else bridge/pass-thru to my own router). The folks in the T-Mobile store are looking into selling me T-Mobile Business Internet, with a better gateway, for $50 + $3 for a static IP + taxes & fees (probably about $5, they said). So a total of about $58, which is more than Home Internet but still better than Spectrum. They're supposed to call me back tomorrow. I asked them to confirm that the static IP is IPv4, but they were unsure. Do you know? I currently run a web server in my home, using Spectrum. @MoldyStir-Fry i dont play minecraft (or any game) but it should work. Are you looking at the ipv4 address of each computer? Should be 192.168.12.xxx if you're hosting a LAN game/server on one and are using that computer's IPv4 address on the other it should work. T-mobile doesnt have any settings to change for isolation nor am I aware of them doing isolation on their gateways.
My gateway doesn't seem to let me view the wifi page in this app. I get an error message "Invalid JSON: The requested method does not exist".
Is there a way to allocate specific bandwidth allotments for each client connection?
Not with the stock gateways. I can with my Omada setup though th-cam.com/video/34NZwJh4N84/w-d-xo.html

You can
I made absolutely certain I typed the password in correctly and I get an invalid username/password notification. No joy... bummer. Any suggestions?
You can use the official tmobile home internet app and try logging in with that. If that doesnt work then maybe you changed the password and can do a factory reset (press and hold button on back) and it will go back to the factory password.
There are 2 passwords on the device
Wifi password & admin password
@@jeff5694 I am aware of that. The problem was that it wouldn't accept the admin password which I knew was absolutely correct. I ended up having the factory reset the device as Nater Tater suggested. Then it worked as expected.
This is really useful info, and it worked perfectly on my White T-M Home Internet Gateway. Quick question. By turning off all wifi signals, does it mean I can now effectively turn this gaterway into a pure gateay and able to connect this to a router without worrying about double NAT issue?

No, it simply turns off the wifi radios. All the routing and NAT still exists. You can still hook up your own router but you'll always have double or more NAT.
@@NaterTater is there a way to fix this issue?
@TimKwong2 double NAT? Tmobile uses CGNAT and thus you'll always be double nat on their network. There are some complex solutions where you tunnel through but that often isnt worth the hassle/cost. Is this just for gaming?

i'd say its the wrong password but can you go to 192.168.12.1 on your computer browser and does it open the gateway webui? If it does open then the password is wrong, if it doesnt open then your router is blocking access to the gateway. If its the latter just directly plug into the gateway to use the app.
as of this post the router 'cannot be found'. maybe theyve updated to block this?
No, are you connected directly to the router? Do you have the correct password?
What kind of device are you connecting with? If it’s a PC is it a static address? If it’s DHCP, try disabling and enabling your network interface. It should pickup a new IP address. If it’s a static address, it needs to be on the same subnet. 192.168.12.x
