    I used a Cheetah I bought last year for three months up in Alaska. Was able to work remotely, upload to youtube, and stream whatever I wanted no issues. It didn't hurt that I was about 1000ft from the tower though. I'd love to get a faster newer one but I don't really need it to be honest. I just wish it had a true passthrough mode, at the time he didn't offer a model that had it so this had to do. Still like it a lot.

      The fan is for the cpu the modems have no thermal concerns

    • @timmturner
      @timmturner หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@RouterRelatedyou are incorrect, the modem runs much hotter than the gateway SoC and requires cooling (passive or active) or will thermally throttle in less than 30 seconds of downloading at a high rate.
      It may or may not affect speed however depending on how fast you are connected but it can certainly shorten the life of the modem.
      Check the modem temperature while downloading and then check the modem CPU speed. Of course most people aren't going to have ADB access to the modem and monitor this but I do and it's a fact.
      You should add modem cooling to the gateways you're selling. If you don't believe me ask Quectel engineers if their 5G modems need a heatsink.

    • @RouterRelated
      @RouterRelated หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@timmturner I build these specifically to not have any thermal concerns. At+qtemp yields thermal info in Celsius. Speed is not throttled until 75 Celsius. To this day no one has reported temps over 60 Celsius. So no not incorrect. The fan of the beast was added to the board not the modem. Modems all have thermal pads top and bottom following the hardware specs and lastly large heatsinks are installed on every critical component as well as the top heat shield of the m.2 module.

    I have the original Cheetah with the SDX65, a Waveform QuadPro 4x4 Mimo Antenna and my signal strength on T-Mobile is RSRP -95dBm RSRQ -12dBm SINR 20dB. I currently get about 400M down and 10-15M upload speeds typically using band 41. Wonder if I would get better performance with the SDX 75, when I asked Chester Repair they didn’t think I would, any thought Nate.

      It likely will but I would deep dive the settings on your x65 first as there might be room for improvement there. Are you on 5G NSA or SA?

      There are steps to try. Try just n41 on SA then just n71 on SA then just n25.

    695.00 I would need to get 2Gbit to get my ROI.. getting 500-600 Gbit with just the quad pro.. good enough
    Maybe when price drops to 350.00 😅

    5G Sub 6 is good,
    with bandwidth of 100 MHz.
    but, 5G mmwave modem,
    with bandwidth of 500 to 800 MHz,
    where are you hiding?

    • @NaterTater
      @NaterTater  หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @infinitybeyond6357 the issue with mmwave is it's 10x high frequency with much worse penetration through trees and buildings. Not practical in rural or suburbs. Can be used in some dense urban areas.

      @r2stik 70Mbps up is good! Atleast around me it is. Symmetrical fiber is about the only thing that blows that out of the water.
