- Over the last year, Super Mario has been mixed up in a bizarre scam involving fake ads and strange mobile games. Today, I want to finally uncover the truth!

Believe it or not, Falcon Game Studio stole several Level Up videos, at some point, we ( Team Level Up ) found the TH-cam channel with all the ads, but I think they are deleted by now
It could have been deleted the day after the ads came up lol I realized

It wasn't uncommon in the Asian markets with those NES clone systems in the 90's to have cartridges with multiple games with misleading titles and hacked and modded ROMs.
I remember first playing "Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu," for the NES as a "Mario" game.
And also the "Kid Niki 3" modded game was labelled as "Stick Mario," and in both instances, the original characters were replaced in-game by Mario sprites/models.
So to this day, I'm pretty sure there are some who believe that those were Mario game they had played in their childhood.

The ad that you clicked on was a fragment of mario animations youtuber: Level UP(or an entire team!)

Having watched this video while expecting some unique reveal due to the way everything was framed and hyped up, I can attest I was also underwhelmed.
Its all about storytelling. Its a bit mundane, but still interesting
I feel this way about a lot of Thomas’s videos. He hyped up a super simple and uninteresting premise and literally just talks about it with no added information or unique commentary
I understand why you guys might feel that way, and I agree to an extent. But the way he set up the story was interesting so I didn’t mind
IceBlueLugia, the way I see it, there wasn’t any story there. It was just an attempt at dramatizing a really uninteresting phenomenon (in this case, extremely common mobile game ripoffs)

It's funny how some people assume getting viruses upon clicking on a youtube ad. I don't think youtube would host ads that led to a virus and neither would Google playstore as that could obviously culminate in them getting sued over it by victims of such a scam.
So what remains is stolen material which definitely should be pursued much more eagerly and aggressive, especially now that it has become weirdly common for mobile game ads to show entirely different game footage from what the game actually offers. So remember kids: If Nintendo made a new mobile game you can expect the Nintendo logo to be shown and a much more compelling and professional trailer. Also, a youtube ad would probably not be the first source for you to learn about a Nintendo mobile game. I'd generally suggest to not use your phone as a gaming device -it sucks.

"big brother" it's called Lep's world. The only difference is that it's much better than Bob's world. Though it still steals levels up's videos.

So my son and i spent 25 mins watching this vid and when we got to the end, we felt as tho we got “bot-ed” into watching the whole vid, with no reward!!
It is a well made vid and has a lot of good info, but it wasnt stated, ‘its a money/info grabing scam’ or ‘ad click baiting’….
We feel that we got tricked into staying till the end, and still no answer! Just like the end of the movie “clue”! the board game.

I'm in the game design industry for 10+years and this development is just so painful to watch.
While alot of people still try to design amazing and innovative games there market is flooded by cheap cashgrabs.
These cashgrabs have become so dominant that it is often hard to actually occupy a portion of the market because it is already so flooded... it literally suffocates original games AND often even makes the same or higher Revenue due to their guerillia marketing.
The quality of the product has become irrelevant and its mostly about Marketing. Most studios are focussed on ROI and that is easy to achieve if your product is cheap af so you can spent your entire budget on marketing.
People honestly need to stop and download this stuff...it is just plain harmful

Also, I think a bunch of bootleg Minecraft ads plaqued the TH-cam adscape for a while, too. Pretty sure those had rather obnoxious music.

The ad for Bob's worked is from a creator called level up, he's a really good animator

Really strange that the Bob's World Engineer Moderator changed his surname from "Trần" to "Nguyễn". Even weirder he reversed the order, the 1st was Sur->First like most country the other was the America way.
There are 3 possibilities
1. This is the same guy who changed his name (why?)
2. The devs are probably Vietnameses, as we know China is the God of Bootleg and we mostly dispute them (Pokemon Elf)
3. This is a different guy who is also an enginneer.

I keep seeing those Bobs World ads using clips from real Mario games, the one I see the most is a clip from Super Mario Bros U Deluxe!
I just downloaded a few Bob’s world games to my iPhone. Thanks for the recommendation!

I'm a huge Level Up fan, I recognized their animation immediately
Hey I remember these, this was literally the time I wanted to get Mario Maker 2 for my switch but was just too damn lazy
So i tried to find one free for mobile, but alas, i failed, Then I came across this ad, but I was smart enough to know that the website was a scam. I still get these ads even in 2021, but it’s died down quite a bit.
It stopped completely for me
