- Last year I investigated some strange FAKE Mario adverts on TH-cam, advertising a game called Bob's World. Even though the game looked like Super Mario Bros, it had noting to do with Nintendo! Today, I'm looking into the game's sequel, Bob's World 2!

You cannot sue anyone for making a game of the same genre, the only thing that could be asked for deletion would be the ads, but they're most probably hired to an external or even a fake company.
One of the situations where Nintendo being litigious would be good for society. No doubt they could sue for deceiving people into thinking it's a Nintendo game, especially with reviews that outright state they thought it was a Nintendo game.
Why these continue to exist is down to two main reasons, firstly how different countries deal with copyright laws, and secondly because these people aren't in the business of game development, they are in the business of copyright law; for the big companies like Nintendo hey know exactly how far they can push their legal limits and get away with it, and when it comes small channels / creators they blatantly steal from, they have enough money to fuck them over in court.
Yea like Nintendo is to focusing on fan games that don’t even make money but these are making more money then any copy ever!

There's a reason this still exists and they even managed to make a sequel. It's not that simple. Their business model is literally copyright infringement, they know how it works better than you which is why they've managed to exist for years without getting things taken down and keep spewing this shit out. They know the loopholes, they know the gray areas, they are covered and even if one gets taken down they have a million other games to keep them afloat

Does anyone else find it weird that Nintendo shut downs entire rom websites and fan games for "copyright infringement" but hasn't even acknowledged the existence of these games.

It's all so normal to me now. I don't even have a smartphone yet I see scammy games like this everywhere through TH-cam and so on. Like 99% of mobile games are just scams imitating popular games, and are rushed and filled with ads and microtransaction. It's awful.

Games like these work because they target a casual audience or really young people, since they aren’t as aware about the scams these games do. Also deceptive ads are so common, and this is just one if the millions of examples out there.

But why would the 'other' scammers try and copy Bob's world? Why copy a scam that everyone knows is a scam? Surely you only need one game? If they're so bad, why do SO MANY people STILL have them downloaded?
Because they're targeting children (and their parents) who don't know any better.
For why there are so many apps for basically the same game with only slight variations I reckon that's due to them having one idea (make a Mario clone that's just different enough to get away with copying Mario but not too different so it still fools people) and multiplying it instead of wasting time to making a completely different game each time.
As for why there are so many versions well that's just a case of increasing odds since, these game would be quick to push out especially after making the first game and, if you release 100+ of the same game instead of just 1 you greatly increased the odds of a person finding the game one the play store feed and, playing long enough to click an ad or two or actually spend real world money on the game.
As for why people play this crap it's because many parents get a child a cheap tablet instead of a family game console or movies to distract the child (which is also the reason for ElsaGate becoming a thing half about decade ago) and casual gamers who don't know a lot about gaming but probably own a phone so they decided this is what they want to dedicate their free time to.

I just watched this video and left to check out "level UP", clicked on the first video and got a Bob's world ad that used super mario bros footage, but instead of mario, the player was a red among us figure.

The worst part of this whole thing is that OneSoft keeps getting away with this scam. As Nintendo keeps turning a blind eye from it. Meanwhile, many legitimate fan game and rom hack creators, who are only making their fan projects for free to express their fandom and love for their favorite Nintendo franchises are getting slammed and being wrongfully accused of doing things that they didn't do and only real scammers like OneSoft are doing. Here's this ridiculous scenario in a nutshell:
*Nintendo Fan:* "[makes an innocent fan game or rom hack out of pure love and fandom for Nintendo]"
*Nintendo:* "Hey! That's illegal! Don't do that! C&D!"
*OneSoft:* "[uses other companies to run and fulfill their whole scam operation, fooling other companies into thinking they making legit games, using the Super Mario name for project names and stealing LevelUP's videos for ads, fooling everyone into thinking their downloading a Nintendo game, infringing Nintendo's copyright to Mario]"
*Various Fans:* "[Fooled by OneSoft's scam]"
*Thomas Game Docs:* "[Makes videos about the scam]"
*Nintendo:* "OneSoft's a company with lots of money using our Super Mario IP without our permission?! Nah! We see nothing wrong with that!"

I'm surprised that they added so much stuff you have to pay for and so many advertisements, since Nintendo would sue them for SURE.

Depressing fact: Bobs World has above 10 million downloads. Despite being a free game Bobs world has 10% of 100 million. The amount of sales of the Nintendo Wii itself
Yeah, a direct Mario ripoff stealing clips from Level Up and filled with ads from something they stole has 10% of Nintendo's used to be bestselling console before the Switch.
Not only that, but they even surpassed the numbers sold for THE PS2 '"155 ps2s were sold!"' having 55% more downloads than the numbers of the bestselling videogame console in the world!

I'm not entirely sure on this, but I've been told time and time again that the reason most companies can't do much about scammy ads or clear theft, is because a lot of these things come from China and supposedly in order to sue for that sort of thing while involving Chinese citizens, you have to go to China and endure the court struggle there instead

The scam goes beyond Mario. I've seen nearly a dozen games stealing sounds, music, art, and sprites from command and conquer games as well as age of empires

I really like that some of these scams/clones are ACTUALLY original with their ideas, just similiar in core to Mario. Take Moy's World for example. It has unique enemies, worlds, skins for your Moy, and other good stuff which signifies they ACTUALLY put time into these, just not all of them.

I think this explains all these mobile game ad scams, they've been going around since I think 2019 or 2020 started, where they will not only steal videos from a bunch of different people, but also make up what you think the game looks like and how the game operates, when in reality, the game isn't like that, there are alot to come across, they aren't harmless, they're just there, and they'll always pop up

I hadn’t seen any Bob’s World ads, but I keep seeing a Pokémon clone called Evertale. Every ad starts and normal but ends very gory and disturbing. Now I’m thinking they are probably stolen videos as well.

I love watching your videos, and I really love the danganronpa investigation background song :D
I remember in2020 that a lot of those ads also used to use video from another TH-camr I was subscribed to, blue television games. It would throw me off because I would go to watch one of his videos and thought for a minute that I must have seen it before because I didn’t realize at first that it was an ad using footage from one of his previous videos. I also remember that he mentioned those people were using it without permission.
This is the first time I've watched the first part of something at the time it came out, then watched the second part once again at the time it came out.
I got an ad 1/4 of a second before he started to say that an ad played after trying to open the gift. That's probably the most perfectly timed ad I have ever seen!

This may be off-topic but I have been enjoying your video’s and explanations. I’d love to see more and more of your videos, specifically the ones involving the changes in the voices of video game characters. I hope to hear more of you talking about these pertaining to characters such as Wario, Waluigi, or any other video game character that may or may not be a part of the Super Mario franchise (btw, I dunno if the characters I’ve said have had any changes with their voices, knowing how their current voice actor is Charles Martinet, the voice actor who still voices Mario for the Mario games). Thank you and keep making videos that I would describe as comforting and just really cool.
