In this episode, we will take you along with us to Volcan Acatenango in Guatemala to see the impressive Volcan de Fuego's eruptions!!
Acatenango is a stratovolcano in Guatemala, close to the city of Antigua. The volcano has two peaks, Pico Mayor (Highest Peak) and Yepocapa (3,880 m) which is also known as Tres Hermanas (Three Sisters). Acatenango is joined with Volcán de Fuego and collectively the volcano complex is known as La Horqueta.

I came back to watch this again, just to see and hear the sound of the Volcano, it is a sound that hits you like several thunder strikes at once, I can not believe more people have not viewed this journey. I am glad that you showed how hard a trek this was, it lets anyone thinking of doing this what to expect, to me it would be worth the experience. 🌋

Fabulous video...it is a lot of work carrying cameras and drones to the top of the mountain. Sara is such a sweetheart, I felt bad seeing her a bit tired at the start of the hike...I think maybe you ate too big of a breakfeast and that slowed you down along with the altitude. Fantasic drone footage of a live volcanic eruption !!...also the night video & timelapse of the lava flows was incredible !!...you guys are the best couple on TH-cam by far !!

Max and Lee went up right before the volcano wiped out the town. Towns people were telling them, it happens a lot. We don't worry!!

2300 people, wow.. that was a powerful eruption. Probably a big mud flow killed most before the lava arrived and coated over the town. And, wow At just 2 km away a powerful explosive eruption could catapult some decent size very deadly lava bombs over to the slope you were watching from.

Did you sleep at the base camp or on top of the mountain? Was the experience worth the hardship of the hiking, rain and cold?
I climbed Agua twice, but never went up this one.
