I usually don’t comment on TH-cam videos 🙃 but watching your video really touched my heart and in a sense I related to you, plus I cried along with you. I loved how you were so transparent about your panic attack and how challenging this adventure was, yet you still had the courage to fight those fears and to persevere. I,too, suffer from anxiety/panic attacks, and it’s precisely those darn fears that occasionally hold me back in enjoying my life. I lost my mom several years ago and my doggy a couple of weeks ago and this video reminded me so much of them, and how much I would love to do something like this in dedication to them. What you did, taking your sister with you was beautiful and inspiring. I’m so proud of you! You are definitely a warrior girl 💪🏽. Your videos are so fun to watch, you and Adam are adorable 😊! Heidi you had my wife and I both in tears, We have been watching and using you guys to guide us through our journey in Mexico. I remember about 2 years ago my wife found you guys on TH-cam and I was calling you the smiling guy’s, and you grew on me. We were just saying of all the people we follow you two are the ones we would like to sit down with and have lunch and hang out. Seeing you tear up climbing the mountain hit us hard because we have been traveling for 6 months,we miss our families and friends especially when your out on your own without your partner you feel lost and alone. That’s me barely know Spanish asking myself what am I doing here? Stay strong Adam give her a good massage…Safe Travels

Watching your experience is so touching, I actually did this hiking back in 2018, a day before my 28th birthday. I was going through huge depression, during the last 300 meters to reach Acatenango’s summit I had a panic attack, someone I met on the hiking group encouraged me to push throug and making it to summit and watching the sun rise, healed my heart, such a unique experience. Hope everyone gets to do this hike ❤

I just completed the hike up to Acatenango and Fuego last week and I can attest to it being the toughest thing I’ever done! The steepness and how fast you have to ascend to get to base camp is what makes it difficult. But seeing the eruptions up close at Fuego and then the views in Acatenango made it all worth it. Great job at illustrating all of the emotions you feel while up there!
What an amazing experience! The atmosphere must have been overwhelming seeing and hearing that volcano going off. Very brave of you to have done this on your own. I remember when I was 16 I hiked up and down the Grand Canyon with 5 other girls and 2 teachers in a day (24 miles round trip) and I felt like every bone in my body was broken the next morning and my feet were bloody. But I can't imagine doing something like that with such high altitude too. Almost nothing will seem like an obstacle to you now after having accomplished that. Congrats! 🍾🥂

@@TheCountryCollectors It was very hard, she didn't take the sherpa service and so she had to climb with a backpack of about 75 pounds ! (she had taken with her 2 times too much water). She would have liked to leave her luggage with the sherpas but had not taken enough money with her. At the base camp she decided not to go to the Fuego because she was exhausted. But when she came back, she was very proud of herself but if she had to do it again, her advice would be to take the sherpa because it is worth every dollar.

I just completed the hike up to Acatenango and Fuego last week and I can attest to it being the toughest thing I’ever done! The steepness and how fast you have to ascend to get to base camp is what makes it difficult. But seeing the eruptions up close at Fuego and then the views in Acatenango made it all worth it. Great job at illustrating all of the emotions you feel while up there!

What an amazing experience! The atmosphere must have been overwhelming seeing and hearing that volcano going off. Very brave of you to have done this on your own. I remember when I was 16 I hiked up and down the Grand Canyon with 5 other girls and 2 teachers in a day (24 miles round trip) and I felt like every bone in my body was broken the next morning and my feet were bloody. But I can't imagine doing something like that with such high altitude too. Almost nothing will seem like an obstacle to you now after having accomplished that. Congrats! 🍾🥂

@@TheCountryCollectors It was very hard, she didn't take the sherpa service and so she had to climb with a backpack of about 75 pounds ! (she had taken with her 2 times too much water). She would have liked to leave her luggage with the sherpas but had not taken enough money with her. At the base camp she decided not to go to the Fuego because she was exhausted. But when she came back, she was very proud of herself but if she had to do it again, her advice would be to take the sherpa because it is worth every dollar.
