- When you clean and organize a room, you have to ask one very important question first: what is this room for? Once you can answer that, everything begins falling into place.
In order to direct and order your own life, you must ask that same question. What is your life for? What is the primary purpose of the one life you've been given?
Fr. Mike proposes that, when you can answer that question, everything in your life will begin falling into place for you. And he might even take a crack at answering that question for you.

I was raised Catholic, struggled over the last 7 years during high school and college to keep up with religion, but i remembered these videos when i was in grade 12 religion class, so i started watching them and have been attending church weekly over the last 2 months, and it makes me think about being Catholic and the privilege it is to be one. Thanks Fr. Mike, i can say youve encouraged and helped me turn back to Jesus

Every time. Every time, Father Mike, that I'm led to one of your videos, the Lord speaks a word of comfort and conviction through you.
There was an older woman in my hometown who found it impossible to part with her husband’s things after he died. Then her house burned down, including all the stuff (no one was hurt, praise God), and she said that after she got over the initial shock, it was incredibly liberating. I think about that a lot.
I am an atheist and Father Mike makes some pretty good sense to me most of the time. When I am dealing with people of faith and I am confronted with some of them with just really far-out-there ideas and I need some grounding, I look for people like Father Mike and other friars and priests, usually Catholics. That way, I have hope in the faithful. That they are not all crazy people. So, thank you Father Mike and other people of faith that are still participants in logic and reason. You may not know it, but some of us are watching you, maybe even secretly rooting for you. Good luck out there.
What you're searching for is God. I'm a former Athens well. You want to have faith. Come home to God, he wants you back. God is Love.

Looking at everything and asking about its purpose as well as meaning in a philosophical way does help us to have an order in our life. We must stop, look at things, and think. That is the start of our training in finding the purpose of our life. We glorify God with our work and follow Jesus to our salvation. I’m signing my third year lease at this apartment where I live and there’s one room that still has not been unpacked. It has probably 75 boxes in it. Everything that didn’t have a place in a room went in the spare bedroom. It looks like a tornado went through it, I’m not bragging I’m not proud of it. Unfortunately, through some setbacks I’ve not been able to get in there and do what I want to do so here I said haven’t been here three years and that room is maybe an eighth touched and that’s being generous. I’m actually watching this because I’m in bed sick. So you gave me plenty to think about. And hopefully because I’m not telling you what’s wrong with me within the next few months I might be able to get in there and get some work done. God bless you .feel better soon.

Hello Fr. Mike. I am grateful to still find you here. I've been through a lot, and most of the time I remember you and your advice based on the Scripture. It was so hard for me to keep up. Everything constantly changes. But you are always there. It's like a living proof that God never stops fighting for me and seeking for me. Thank you for your consistency, Father. You are such an inspiration.
Give away the other 20 mugs and keep the one your Mom gave you! Most of us have more than we need or will ever use. 😁🙏 Thank you for the reminder not to waste the gifts we are given, to seek out those in need and share our time and resources.
i use a different mug every day or rotate .... because every day starts off different from the day before and the whole day is new..........

How did you know about my boxes Father!?! Haha, I moved here a few months ago and have had so many set backs( had to travel to see my Mom, eldest son was in the hospital ,all kinds of bumps in the road) that Im just now looking around and saying to myself, "ok ,thats enough of this".

Fr. Mike, I think you're one of these people who has a ton of energy, even when sick, plus I think you have a call to duty regardless of circumstances. That being said, with all due respect, choose something that helps to promote rest and give your immune system a chance to regain strength and heal. Prayers for a fast recovery, but I gotta tell you; your sickness has slowed down your delivery from 100 mph to 65 mph and because my brain is slow on the uptake I was able to completely follow what you were saying the first time lol. I thought it was great!

Just finished your book, "How to Make Great Decisions." Thank you. I needed that. It's amazing how God works and is always there, no matter what decisions we make. I especially needed the example about failed relationship after failed relationship being part of the discernment process. This book, in my mind, aligns with Philippians as it instructs to not worry about anything. :)

Father, I love your videos because they make me think about my current situation. I've reached a point in my life that I don't really see the reason of keeping everything in order. My bedroom can be a mess and it doesn't really matter to anyone but me, and I don't mind at all. My kitchen can be a mess because at the end of the day, I'm the one who pays the bills. See what I mean? None of these mundane things matter to me anymore. My life had plenty of order but it didn't amount to anything at the end of the day. So, now I live as a hermit and serve God as much as possible. (P.S.: Please get well soon!)

Father Mike, the fact that you made videos while being sick was encouraging. I am having a hard time loving God while facing illness after illness, recovering from injuries, and many other issues. I questioned why God created us to suffer. And then this video showed up and you said that our first purpose in life is to love God. I appreciate that. It is hard to feel loved while overcoming illness and injury. I pray for those who are at hospitals in more serious conditions than mine. Please pray for me.

I've been asking myself and praying about "the purpose of my life?" for the past week. 😅
Was feeling a drift in the world. It's a struggle to not feel like I am wasting my life as a single person. I haven't been called to marrriage (40yrs) or religious life and don't know how to orient my days to serve God.
