Eeyyyy ❤ one of us. im also a I do what to call it former lgbtq? renounced lgbtq? Catholic. Fillowing God, its not an easy path to walk in our culture today but its so worth it. One thing that encourages me is thinking about how high my odds of running into a fellow Christian are compared to the early Christians in the time of the Roman Empire and how they were able to be courageous live out their faith.

These videos have really opened my eyes to the importance and value of learning Scripture. I've been joining this online Bible study, and it's been super helpful in growing my faith. I'd highly recommend giving it a try. It's never too late! Let me know if you'd like some recommendations or need some prayer.
I'd like to request prayer for mu grand daughter who was raised by us and is now living with her atheist parents who keep her from her beliefs. Please pray so she does not forget about God and how much she once loved and believed in Him. We are no longer allowed to make contact with her.
Catholic believers should look at the position Jesus took toward Mary and accept his words.
Did Jesus ever teach us to honor the Virgin Mary during his ministry? Rather, he says this:
So one of the people there said to him, “Look, your mother and brothers are standing outside, and they want to speak with you.”
Jesus answered, “Who is my mother? Who are my brothers?” Then he pointed to his disciples and said, “Look! Here are my mother and my brothers! Whoever does what my Father in heaven wants him to do is my brother, my sister, and my mother.”(Matthew 12:47-50)
You must know that this is what Jesus said 2000 years ago when he foresaw believers putting their hands together and bowing their heads to the statue of the Virgin Mary, which is practiced in the current Catholic Church.
He says that the one who carries out the will of the Father is my brother and mother.
Don't you know that I'm saying there's nothing special about being the mother of Jesus?
If Mary had really ascended to heaven, would she have said this about the Virgin Mary? If she really did ascend to heaven, how could that important event not be recorded in the Bible?
Jesus asked, “Who is my mother and who are my brothers?” He asked back!!
When a saint dies, Catholics like to write prayers and pray to the dead person.
You should know that talking to the dead is itself a type of necromancy.
Everyone died, and the only one who was resurrected after death was Jesus.
Please realize that the 10th Commandment to honor your parents means to honor your parents while they are alive, not to talk to them, bow down to them, or worship them when they are dead.
I am not slandering the Virgin Mary.
I do not hate the Virgin Mary.
However, it slanders those who idolize the Virgin Mary.
Catholic believers, please take a look at yourself.
When your parents die, will you honor them by making a statue for them like Kim Jong-il and Kim Il-sung in North Korea?
Is it respectful to make a statue for breaking the 10 commandments?
Just because Mary was conceived by the Holy Spirit does not mean she becomes one with the Holy Spirit. Just because a mother and baby are connected by an umbilical cord does not mean that they become one! Everyone is born with an umbilical cord, so are you one with your mother? The umbilical cord must be cut!
Indeed, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are one, and the bride of Christ is only His spiritual church (Ephesians 5:23). The body has nothing to do with it, and His physical mother has nothing to do with it. Do not accept spiritual things carnally.
Do not continue to reject the Bible with distorted doctrines! Your Bible condemns you.
Matthew 12:47-50, which I mentioned, is already a sufficient answer to how we should think about Mary, but since you raise questions about the truth of the Bible, I would like to add more.
(Exodus 20:4): Do not make for yourselves images of anything in heaven or on earth or in the water under the earth. (10 Commandments)
(Deuteronomy 18:11): and don't let your people practise divination or look for omens or use spells 11or charms, and don't let them consult the spirits of the dead.
(Matthew 5:17): Do not think that I have come to do away with the Law of Moses and the teachings of the prophets. I have not come to do away with them, but to make their teachings come true.
(Romans 7:12-13): So then, the Law itself is holy, and the commandment is holy, right, and good. But does this mean that what is good caused my death? By no means! It was sin that did it; by using what is good, sin brought death to me, in order that its true nature as sin might be revealed. And so, by means of the commandment sin is shown to be even more terribly sinful.
Just because Catholicism has been around for 2,000 years and has Peter as its first pope, we should not mistakenly believe that the Spirit of God exists in Catholicism in the end times. It has nothing to do with the fact that the first Pope was Peter and whether Catholicism is correct today, 2,000 years later.
Just because the first principal of a school with 100 years of history was a very good person and did not commit corruption, does that mean that the school principal 100 years later will be the right person?
The point is that whoever is first or not has nothing to do with the present.
The Bible is the only thing that God has left behind and protected so that it will not deteriorate for humanity in the future after 2,000 years.
(John 1:1): The Word was God.
(John 1:14) The Word became a human being and, full of grace and truth, lived among us.
Why are you trying to reject the words of the Lord I mentioned?
You are claiming to yourself, “I am a person who rejects the words of Jesus.”
You are rejecting Jesus, the Word!!!!!
Please keep in mind that the only thing God protects is His Word.
After Jesus' ascension, the church has been constantly attacked by the devil.
Even when Apostle Paul was active, the devil was encroaching on him. Do you think Catholicism is correct now, 2,000 years later?
(1 Corinthians 1:12) Let me put it this way: each one of you says something different. One says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Peter”; and another, “I follow Christ”
(1 Corinthians 11:19): No doubt there must be divisions among you so that the ones who are in the right may be clearly seen
Catholic doctrine is often corrupted.
The stance on same-sex couples has also changed to allow for blessing.
Because of this, there is resistance even within the Catholic Church, but most people simply accept the false teachings of the devil without question.
Does this mean that God's fairness can change back and forth?
In Him there is neither change nor shadow of change (James 1:17)
Even Satan can disguise himself to look like an angel of light! (2 Corinthians 11:14)
he Wicked One will come with the power of Satan and perform all kinds of false miracles and wonders, 10and use every kind of wicked deceit on those who will perish. They will perish because they did not welcome and love the truth so as to be saved.(2Thessalonians 2:9-10)
No matter what miracles you see, you should not believe in miracles from places that claim teachings that are contrary to the Bible. Only the Word is God who became man, so please believe in the Word.
-The Lord said, “These people claim to worship me, but their words are meaningless, and their hearts are somewhere else. Their religion is nothing but human rules and traditions, (Isaiah 29:13)
-Be on your guard against false prophets (Matthew 7:15)
-because their minds are dull,
and they have stopped up their ears
and have closed their eyes. (Matthew 13:15)
Catholic believers, please come to your senses and wake up. It's a pity.
Go back to the Word. Are you trying to take the broad path while trying to deny that your actions are contrary to the Word?
Even if you don’t believe what I say, believe what I say.
Why do you try to distort the Word in your mind?
Why do your lips say "B" when your eyes say "A"?
Do not compare the words of the Bible with the words or doctrines of mere human priests, bishops, or popes.
Do you follow and listen to human words, doctrines, and false prophets rather than the words of the Lord?
Look at the times and become a wise person.
Be courageous. Read and meditate on the sermon.
I'm not saying go to church. There are many false pastors in Protestant churches as well. Rather than going to church or cathedral once a week and sitting there for an hour, try reading the Bible for at least one hour a week.
These are the last days. This is because human nerves and computers are trying to combine.
Please take all questions to the Lord through prayer.
I sincerely hope that you will be saved by giving yourself to God and Jesus.
There is no sin so great that the Lord will not forgive.
You don't need a church, pastor, or priest to do this. Just pray to God in a quiet place.
If you don't confess to the priest in the confessional, won't the Lord hear you?
Don’t you know that these are all false doctrines? Look at the fruit. Look at the icons and people who bow their heads to the statues that are contrary to the words of the Bible.
Why do you humble yourself to the Almighty Lord?
Why do you confine God in the confessional and the tabernacle?
“Is there a limit to my power?” the LORD answered (Numbers 11:23)
He will meet you exactly as you are, wherever you are.

Thank you father + team at accession. Baptised into the catholic church @ Easter and I finally feel god's love. I was raised in a Muslim home and taught never to question to Qur'an and never to touch the bible. I was 8 years old when I rejected religion and at 19 I went on a long journey and search which led me down new age spiritually. God sent me my husband and at 30 years old I can confidently say Jesus Christ is our only lord and saviour. Thank you for being the driving force behind my conversion. Bible in a year + catechism in a year saved me. RCIA was god sent and the church is family with heaven being home. Thank you ❤

Fr. Mike is a national treasure. The first time I read the bible from cover to cover was at the age of 64 with BIY. I am now on my 3rd read through. Always learning new aspects of the story. Fr. Father Mike, thank you for your heart for the Lord and all your work. You are in my prayers daily. I cannot begin to tell you how much you’ve helped me over the last six weeks. I currently work full time in ministry in a Presbyterian church as a pastoral apprentice. My wife, who grew up Catholic, felt like God was calling her back home to the Catholic faith. After she’d told me two or three times, I opened my heart to the possibility that God may actually be calling not just her, but my kids and myself as well. I prayed to God and asked plainly if He was calling me to Catholicism. I immediately began weeping and was filled with a warmth and a sense of joy and peace. God said yes! None of it made sense because at the at moment, I had a list of reasons to not even consider being Catholic, as well as I’m going to loose my job which supports my family. The first video I watched of yours was on the blessed mother Mary. I lost it. I’ve since watched hundreds of videos and have been reading Catholic literature since. I’m all in and can’t wait to become Catholic. I’m currently attending mass as often as I can, signed up for the rciaa classes, and I’m taking a drink from the Catholic fire hose! You have been such a huge part of that and such a blessing on my journey. Thank you doesn’t even do it justice, but with all my heart and love, thank you!

I am praying for you father Mike and everyone else who is hearing bible in a year. I am in day 328 and today i learn this.We are all Jewish people of god because we have been grafted apiritually into the tree of life of Jesus Christ promise he has not abandoned his people he still holding on to that promise.
A Catholic my entire life and it wasn't until God led me to the Bible in A Year Podcast that I really understood how much God loved me. Everything from the beginning of the creation has pointed forward to His coming in the flesh, the old testament is revealed in the new and the New testament is hidden in the old. It boggles my mind how awesome our God is and how much He loves us.
Same, check out the Traditional Latin Mass, that pulled me even closer.

I absolutely loved this! I was raised Catholic and went to Catholic school. In college, I fell off track and was away from the church for about 20 years---until the Ascension app & BIY & CIY, the Hallow app and The Chosen all came into my life, and all around the same time! I took that as a sign that He was calling me back and I listened. That was a year and a half ago and I haven't looked back. Fr. Mike has helped me in ways too many to count and I'm eternally grateful to him and the Ascension Team. Please keep creating content like this

This is amazing. I was raised without religion. God placed people in my life continuously leading me to him. RCIA at age 25, brought my husband back to The Church, raised 2 daughters, saved my SIL from night terrors with prayer and now his conversion, God is ever present. I read the Road to Salvation and now am watching/reading The Bible in a Year on TH-cam. I love how Father Mike is relatable, has a sense of humor but is serious about teaching us. I feel like I finally get it. Blessings to you all for putting together life changing material for us to absorb and understand.

I am on Day 192, following Father Mike on the journey through the Bible. He explains the salient point of each day’s readings, and it’s amazing and powerful to see the connections. I’m so grateful that Father Mike is there to bring clarity and understanding to the Bible readings. Now, when I hear a Gospel reading, I can place it in context of the bigger salvation picture instead of an isolated story. Gog bless you, Father Mike.

I have always loved The Gospels. Half a year ago I started listening to Bible in a year and now I love the entire Bible. I especially was struck by Job. I'm not a cradle Catholic although my parents were Irish Catholic. I entered into Catachium in 2018 and got my husband a Protestant to join me and Fr. Mikes videos along with Bishop Barron's were instrumental in our journey. There are no amount of thank you to convey the way I feel about these two holy men and the evangelization they produce. I am eternally grateful.

Over the last 67 days my world was completely flipped around since listening to the bible in a year podcast. Life temptations are always around us and it seems to want us to do anything but reach out and listen to god. It’s a daily battle and I wasn’t able to do this alone without the help of Jesus. I pray to all for this to reach into your hearts and draw your relationship with god closer day by day. It may be a bible in a year podcast. But to me, it’s a bible in a lifetime, that I will look to listen to my whole life 🙏.
I am listening to Father Mike and the Bible in a Year for the third time. Every year I listen, it's like I am hearing it for the first time. I never get tired of this daily podcast. Father's Mikes comments are fantastic and help you understand the Bible.
I think this is a great way to reach people who have been resisting the Word. The fact that the whole Bible is summarized in 10 min can spark the minds and hearts of those who have never taken the time to find out what's in the Bible. The presentation is not too simple either, so all people can relate. And Fr. Mike is an enthusiastic and sincere "storyteller."

Just finished Day 246 today (TBIAY) and having Ft. Mike, his podcasts and companions (and the Bible of course) has honestly changed my life. It’s hard to explain until you experience it for yourself. We keep praying for you Ft. Mike!

Absolutely loved this. I’m about halfway through BIY and watched this with my children, and my 8 year old asked “are there more videos like this?” It would be a wonderful way to bring children into deeper relationship with God and His word before they are ready for the podcast!
I had completed the Biblical School in Denver, we went through the Bible in 4 years, and I have been reading the Bible every day since. I now have been listening to the Bible in a Year since it started. I get something new each day. Thank you Father Mike.

Yes, please make more of these videos. Many of us use "The Bible Project' videos because of the visual creativity and good content, but a Catholic perspectic in this fashion is very needed for all ages!
I journeyed through the Bible in a year podcast twice. The first time it helped me to get to know God, the Father, who up until that point seemed to me very distant and frankly somewhat harsh. I learned that God the Father is loving, just, and trustworthy. Life changing for me. The second time, it led me to a deeper understanding of God the Holy Spirit & how He makes it possible for us to lead holy lives, when we give Him permission. Thank you father Mike, and all the team for saying yes to God. I know that it must’ve been tons of work to put it together.
The catechism in a year podcast has given me a greater understanding and appreciation of my Catholic faith. Again, a sincere thank you. May God continue to protect you and bless you all.

I have known the Lord and walked with Him for over 50 years. During that time I have been a serious student of the Bible. It was absolutely delightful to go through Catechism in Year last year (recommended by my sister-in-law), and this year, Bible in a Year. What I have enjoyed the most is reading the testimonies of so many changed lives, young and old, from every walk of life, every experience in the CIY and BIY posts: people discovering the abundant life that Christ offers to us in Him. I am thankful that Fr. Mike answered the call, and has been at the forefront today of being a vessel used by God, and with his team, to lead people in their return to the Great Shepherd of our souls. Unspeakable joy!

I’ve read the Bible not once but twice thanks to Fr. Mike and BIY. My husband is on his second round. God is calling us back and we are walking towards Him in baby steps but always moving forward. This video is wonderful. May God’s will be done on earth as it is in heaven!

That’s why I’m only four seconds in on my second viewing! i’m convinced that this will bring more people to want to read the Bible, to realize that they too, can understand it and provide ongoing encouragement at the point that it seems overwhelming or confusing and they’re ready to drop out. Well done. It’s hard for me to be objective because I listen to Fr Mike every day. I am a member of the virtual front pew, completed the BIAY year 1, have consumed much of the messages on Ascension, and will continue to support financially. Thank you Ascension, Fr. Mike, Jeff Cavins, Fr. Mark Toupes, Sister Miriam, etc. etc.
This video is very well done, and I believe it has an excellent possibility of drawing people in to want to learn more through BIY. My one question would be - who is the intended audience? In some parts, I'm not sure the words would be understood by people as young as high schoolers. In my industry, we are told to use in any educational material language at a 5th grade level for the reader (even though what we are making is geared to adults). So, in summary I love it and I think it is wonderful in so many ways, but I do wonder about some of the words used (visual may help understanding enough to overcome, just something to consider).

I remember when I was a kid I used to think I would never have read and known the bible before I die. Now I am 22 years old, and recently God changed my life a lot, and one way he did so is by bringing me to the Bible in a Year podcast with Father Mike Schmitz. Father I pray for you everyday and I am so grateful I got to journey with you through God's love letter for us. I feel so blessed because now I know even if I die the next second, I've been journeying with you through the bible for 125 days and I have read and known at least a part from the Holy Bible. I praise our Father in Heaven for this huge blessing he has given me. And I am really thankful for this amazing animation. I would love to see more! May God bless you all!

I started listening to TBIAY and CIAY when you first started and have since showed it to my husband, children, friends, and our woman's group 3 of us started at our Parish with the Blessing of our Pastor and priests. I am blessed to be witness to many men and woman's lives having been transformed and fed through the Word of God thanks to your Yes to our Lord. My famous line is "I used to read the Bible and I felt like a 3rd grader trying to comprehend war and peace to no avail". Ptaise Jesus, not anymore! Thank you for this precious gift of your time, love, and knowledge. And thank you of course to our Lord for knowing many of us needed some tutoring and sending a wonderful "tutor"
Ascension and Father Mike, I have been doing Bible in A Year and this video is great! I’ve never seen a video like this where the full picture is conveyed. As one who loves art, the animation was terrific and I loved the subtle details that went hand in hand with the Bible to show more “clues” of what happens in the Bible. For example, the knife with Cain and Abel, the cross when Jesus is praying looking over Him, and the way the screen splits like the Red Sea. These details can leave the viewer wondering, “Oh, I wonder why they showed that..” if they’ve never read the Bible before.
You have no idea how many people you are helping. Just by helping me, I’ve spread the gospel to customers at work by talking about the Hallow App and what I read at night in BIAY. Sometimes as Christians, if others are not reading the Bible, we have to tell others and that can help start a relationship for others in Christ. I am currently on my 3rd go round of Bible in A Year. And I am still learning more about our God and His Word each time I go through it. I love this little animated video but I just love Fr. Mike for all he has done to help me increase in my faith and love of God. He is the best and so is Ascension!

I am in awe! Look at our God, how beautiful He is, what He has done for us, how He loves us! He, the Creator of everything, loves us, sinners, dust, nothing... Thank you Father Mike. I am on my third year of Bible of the year. I will listen every year as it is necessary to stay close to God. Next year will be my first year of Catechism in a year. This year just didn't happen. I am back to the Catholic faith after 15 years and this is the beginning of my third year back so yes I was listening to bible in a year before returning to the Church. It was one of Fr. Mike's videos that brought me back. Wish I could find it again but I can't. I will share this as I still need to get my son back in the Church. Thanks for all you do.
